Police Reports 3/13-3/14

OUIL: Occurred on 3/14 at 2:19 AM- Beacon St.

A vehicle was stopped at the intersection of Harvard St. and Beacon St. without displaying its headlights. When the traffic signal turned green, the vehicle turned onto Beacon St., where it rode up and over the edge of the sidewalk. The vehicle failed to stop for a red light on Beacon St. and began to swerve. The vehicle again swerved onto the curb on Beacon St, where the officer was able to conduct a traffic stop. Upon reaching the driver’s window, the officer could detect a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from the vehicle. Based on the observations, the driver was placed under arrest for Operating Under the Influence of Liquor.

OUIL: Occurred on 3/13 at 10:20 PM- Beacon St.

Officers were dispatched to Beacon St. for a single vehicle crash with an injury. A Lexus SUV was running with a town sign under its front bumper. While administering first aid to the operator of the vehicle, officers could detect a strong odor of alcohol. The operator was stabilized and transported to the hospital. Officers and paramedics believed the operator was under the influence of liquor.

Witnesses told police that they observed the vehicle swerve to the right on Beacon St., striking a parked car and a town sign. The operator will be summonsed to court for Operating Under the Influence of Liquor, Operating to Endanger, and weaving.

Shoplifting: Occurred on 3/13 at 1:36 PM- Harvard St.

Loss prevention staff at T.J. Maxx reported a shoplifting. The employee stated that he had a woman in his office who he observed concealing items in her purse. He stated that he observed an individual place items in her purse and attempt to leave without paying. The subject was placed under arrest for shoplifting.

Arrest: Occurred on 3/13 at 8:17 AM- Green St.

A vehicle made an illegal left turn from Harvard St. to Green St. The officer conducted a traffic stop on Green St. A query of the driver’s information revealed that he did not have a valid license for operation in Massachusetts. The operator was placed under arrest for Not Duly Licensed.
