Arrests:

Occurred at 2:03 PM (4/21) – Lagrange Street

Officers conducted a traffic stop for lane violations. Upon investigation officers learned that the subject’s license to operate in Massachusetts was suspended. The subject was subsequently placed under arrest for operating after suspension, unsafe lane change and failure to signal a lane change.

Occurred at 7:38 PM (4/21) – Hammond Street

Officers conducted a traffic stop for failure to stop at a stop sign and speeding. Upon investigation officers learned that the subject did not have a proper Massachusetts license to operate. The subject was subsequently placed under arrest for not duly licensed, speeding, and stop sign violation.

Occurred at 8:56 PM (4/21) – Boylston Street/ Clark Road

Officers conducted a traffic stop for defective equipment. Upon investigation officers learned that the driver’s license to operate in Massachusetts was suspended and the subject had an active arrest warrant. The subject was subsequently placed under arrest for operating after suspension, the charges from the warrant and operating with defective equipment. Officers learned that one of the passengers of the vehicle also had an active warrant for his arrest, and was subsequently placed under arrest. During the booking process at the police station the passenger subject was very uncooperative, and was kicking and fighting with the police officers. The subject was additionally charged with Assault and Battery and resisting arrest.

Occurred between 2:00 AM (4/22) and 2:43 AM (4/22) – Davis Avenue

Officers responded to a report of an intoxicated person causing a disturbance. Upon arrival officers observed a male outside of the reported building who was unsteady on his feet. Officers questioned the male and the male was unable to answer questions due to the level of intoxication. The male was screaming and causing a disturbance. The reported caller confirmed the identity of the male and the subject was subsequently placed under arrest for disturbing the peace and disorderly conduct. Later in the morning while the subject was in the cell at the police station the subject became very violent and uncooperative causing damages to the police station equipment. The subject was additionally charged with malicious damage to town property and tampering with a fire alarm.
Occurred between 3:01 AM (4/22) and 3:24 AM (4/22) – Harvard Street

Officers observed a vehicle that was parked with its blinker on and its reverse lights on. As officers pulled next to the vehicle, they observed what appeared to be a male sleeping in the vehicle. It took the officers many attempts to wake the subject up, and when they did so there was a strong odor of alcohol coming from the subject’s vehicle and breathe. Officers also observed a small container of alcohol that was empty on the passenger’s seat. Officers confirmed that the subject was visibly intoxicated and was subsequently placed under arrest for operating under the influence of alcohol and refusing to identify himself.

Occurred at 6:45 AM (4/22) - Harvard Street/ Verndale Street

Officers conducted a traffic stop for failure to use a signal during a turn. Upon investigation officers learned that the subject did not have a proper Massachusetts license to operate. The subject was subsequently placed under arrest for not duly licensed, and will be issued a citation for failure to use a turn signal.

Arrests:

Occurred between 6:28 PM (4/20) and 7:35 PM (4/20) – Beacon Street

Officers conducted a traffic stop for an illegal left hand turn. Upon investigation officers learned that the operator did not have a proper Massachusetts license. The subject was subsequently placed under arrest for Operating without a license and will be issued a citation for a left turn sign prohibits.

Occurred at 7:18 PM (4/20) – Boylston Street/ Reservoir Road

Officers conducted a traffic stop for speeding. Upon investigation officers learned that the subject’s license to operate in Massachusetts was suspended. The subject was subsequently placed under arrest for operating after suspension and will be issued a citation for speeding.

Malicious Damage to a Motor Vehicle:

Occurred between 11:30 PM (4/20) and 7:15 AM (4/21) – Thorndike Street

Officers responded to a report of malicious damage to a vehicle. Upon arrival officers observed the vehicle rear window smashed out. There were no items taken and no signs of entry to the vehicle.

Arrests:

Occurred at 5:28 PM (4/19) – Boylston Street/ Fisher Avenue

Officers conducted a traffic stop for failing to have an inspection sticker. Upon investigation officers learned that the operator’s license was suspended. The operator was subsequently placed under arrest for operating with a suspended license and cited for not having an inspection sticker.

Occurred at 6:47 PM (4/19) – Beacon Street

Officers responded to a report of assault and battery. Upon arrival officers observed two males who seemed to be in a dispute. Upon investigation officers learned that one of the male subjects entered the local grocery store and was screaming profanity and acting inappropriate. Once the subject left the store he continued to loiter outside of the store and was disturbing the employees and customers through the window. When an employee of the store approached the subject he shoved the employee and continued to try to hit and agitate the employee. The subject was subsequently placed under arrest for Disorderly Conduct, Disturbing the Peace, Assault and Battery.

Occurred at 12:43 AM (4/20) – Washington Street/ Pond Avenue

Officers conducted a traffic stop for a marked lane violation and failure to use signals. Upon investigation officers learned that the operator’s license was suspended. The subject was subsequently placed under arrest for operating after suspension and failure to use signals.

Burglary:

Occurred between 12:00 PM (4/16) and 5:30 PM (4/19) – Longwood Avenue

Officers responded to a report of Burglary. Upon arrival officers were met with the father of the victim. Officers learned that the father had arrived to meet with his daughter who was arriving home from vacation. When he arrived at the house he noticed multiple items misplaced and rummaged through. When the victim arrived home, officers learned that a large sum of cash and jewelry were taken from the home. The home was processed for fingerprints. While investigating, officers checked the other units of the home to see if any other apartments were broken into. A second unit was broken into and a lap top computer was stolen. The Brookline Police Department advises residents of this area to be cautious of locking all doors and windows of their homes, and to report any suspicious behavior or signs of break-ins.

Breaking and Entering and Larceny of a Motor Vehicle:

Occurred between 7:00 PM (4/19) and 10:15 PM (4/19) – Beacon Street

Officers responded to a report of breaking and entering and larceny of a motor vehicle. Upon investigation officers learned that the vehicle’s passenger window was smashed in and items were missing from the vehicle.

Arrests:

Occurred between 5:25 PM (4/18) and 5:44 PM (4/18) – Washington Street

Officers responded to a report of threats that turned into an assault. Upon arrival officers met with the three subjects involved. Officers learned that one of the subjects was trying to park his vehicle when he saw two pedestrians walk behind his car. He applied the breaks to avoid hitting the pedestrians. The subject and the two pedestrians exchanged words in a verbal altercation. The two pedestrians began to threaten the driver and attempted to throw a rock at his vehicle. The altercation then escalated and one of the pedestrians kicked the driver. The subject was subsequently placed under arrest for assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and threats to commit a crime. The second subject was placed under protective custody and will be summonsed to court for assault and battery and threats to commit a crime.

Occurred at 9:17 PM (4/18) – Harvard Street/ Stedman Street

Officers conducted a traffic stop for suspicious driving behavior. Upon investigation officer immediately observed that the driver and the passenger were under the influence of drugs due to signs that officers learn in training. Officers asked the occupants to exit the vehicle and when they did so officers observed paraphernalia used for heroin use. The passenger also had drugs in his shoe. The passenger was placed under arrest for possession of a Class E substance. The driver was placed under arrest for Operating under the influence of heroin.

Transportation to Hospital:

Occurred at 1:39 PM (4/18) - Beacon Street

Officers responded to a report of an individual that had fallen through a skylight from the roof. Upon arrival officers learned that the individual was attending a party and some of the individuals had gone on the roof to watch the marathon. Multiple individuals heard the sound of glass breaking and realized a person had fallen through into the stairwell of the building. The individual was treated for his injuries and transported to a local hospital.

Arrests:

Occurred between 5:54 AM (4/16) and 6:10 AM (4/16) – Beacon Street/ Winchester Street

Officers conducted a traffic stop for a lane violation. Upon investigation officers learned that the driver’s license was expired. The driver was subsequently placed under arrest for operating with an expired license and cited for an unsafe lane change.

Occurred at 1:29 PM (4/16) – Harvard Street

Officers conducted a traffic stop for a vehicle causing gridlock. Upon investigation the officers learned that the operator’s license was suspended. The subject was subsequently placed under arrest for operating after suspension and cited for causing gridlock.

Occurred at 9:05 PM (4/16) – Beacon Street

Officers conducted a traffic stop for an illegal left hand turn. Upon investigation officers could detect a smell that is consistent with marijuana. Officers learned that the subject and the passengers had marijuana in the vehicle and on their persons. Officers queried the driver and two passengers and confirmed that one of the passengers had outstanding warrants for his arrests. The passenger was placed under arrest for the warrants and will be cited for possession of class d substance.

Occurred between 1:45 AM (4/18) and 2:02 AM (4/18) – Boylston Street/ Hammond Pond Parkway

Officers conducted a traffic stop for speeding. Upon investigation officers learned that the operator was driving a rental car and was from out of state. While speaking to the operator officer could detect the smell of alcohol coming from the operators breathe along with other signs of alcohol use. Officers conduct field sobriety test and found the operator to be under the influence of alcohol. The subject was subsequently placed under arrest for operating under the influence of alcohol.

Occurred at 3:45 AM (4/18) – Englewood Avenue

Officers responded to a report of a party that was getting out of control. Upon arrival the reported party was quiet but officers could see visible signs of a party. After multiple attempts to contact the residence, the resident finally answered. It was determined that the residents and its guests were responsible for the malicious damage done to the building and vehicles in the area. The subject was subsequently placed under arrest for Defacement of property and disorderly conduct.
