February 13-15, 2017

February 13-15, 2017 Blogs


On 02/13/2017 at approximately 7am an officer responded to a 911 call on Gardner Rd. The officer Viewed that the cars glove box was left ajar as well as contents were tossed around. Nothing of value was taken, and owner believes that the door may have not been locked.

On 02/13/2017 officers witnessed a familiar person and knew this person to have an outstanding warrant. Officer asked this person to identify themselves and officers confirmed warrant. Suspect was placed under arrest and taken to Brookline Police Department.

On 02/14/2017 officers responded to a breaking and entering at a local on Harvard Sq. Officers found the back door of a business was pried open as well as $120 missing. Items inside were tossed around but no further items were taken. Video surveillance has been requested to follow up.

On 02/15/2017 Investigation of recent package thefts resulted in a Brookline Warrant and Arrest. Assisted by the Boston Police Fugitive Units, Brookline Police arrested a subject in Boston for Larceny from a Building, Breaking and Entering, and Possession of Burglarious Tools. The arrestee was operating a motor vehicle at the time of the arrest. Inside the vehicle the arrestee had working red/blue strobe lights both front and rear windshield area, along with a Boston Police Marine Badge. Subject was transported by the Boston Police to District B3 for a courtesy booking and to the Brookline Police Station where he was booked and processed.

On 02/15/2017 officers witnessed an SUV operating at high speed. This led to officers stopping the vehicle which they later found out that the operator of the vehicle had a revoked license. This led to officers arresting the operator as well as taking him to Brookline Police Station.

2/7 to 2/12

2/7/17 - Larceny
An officer responded to Winchester St for a past larceny report. The victim stated that between 1100 and 1230hrs she had left her straw bag in the main lobby of the public building and when she returned to grab it, the bag was gone. There are no witnesses of the theft. There are no restrictions on people entering or leaving the building as it is a public building.


2/8/17 – Operating after Revocation
An officer observed a Sedan travelling northbound on Winchester St. without a valid Inspection Sticker. The officer pulled the driver over and was told the vehicle owner was the passenger. A query of the operator’s license revealed that his license was revoked. The operator was placed under arrest and transported to the Brookline Police Station.


2/8/17 – Warrant
An officer responded to Queensberry St. acting on information as to the whereabouts of a subject known to have outstanding arrest warrants. The building manager called to the subject to the front and he was placed under arrest by the officer and responding detectives.

2/8/17 – Larceny
An officer at the front desk was approached by a subject who wanted to file a larceny report.
The victim stated that at approximately 1120hrs, he placed his laptop and his iPhone in an unlocked locker in the boys locker room of a building on Tappan St. When he returned from at 1220hrs he found that his locker had been ransacked and his computer and phone were missing.

2/8/2017 – Motor Vehicle Theft
An officer responded to Harvard St for a report of a stolen motor vehicle. The victim parked his car unlocked and the keys in the ignition on Lawton St to enter a building on Harvard St. After 3-5 minutes, he returned to see his gray Honda Civic being driven away. 

2/9/17 – Operating after Revocation
An officer observed a black Chrysler sedan travelling eastbound on Beacon St without a valid Inspection Sticker. The officer initiated a traffic stop at the intersection of Beacon St. and St. Paul St. A query of the vehicle's registration revealed that the registration was revoked. The operator became increasingly hostile once advised his registration was revoked and he became and was advised to stay in the vehicle. The subject will be summonsed into Brookline District Court and the vehicle was towed.

2/10/17 – Found Property
An officer responded to Beacon St for found property. An engagement ring had been found on one of the aisle floors and turned it in.  Attempts were made over the store loud speaker to locate the rightful owner but no one responded. The ring was placed was placed in an evidence locker for safekeeping.

2/10/17 – Possession of Heroin
An officer responded to a radio call for a shoplifter on Harvard St. described as a white male, 5'10", wearing an orange jacket, jeans and black shoes. The Manager stated that the subject took a shopping bag and started to fill it up with merchandise. He stated that the subject then started to put items inside his jacket. The subject attempted to exit the store, but was stopped and asked him to come back into the store. The subject was placed under arrest and searched, revealing an uncapped hypodermic needle, a spoon with heroin residue, and a bunched up paper towel, containing a clear plastic bag tied off containing a brown powdery substance. The subject was transported to the police station.

2/12/17 – Operating after Revocation
An officer on Harvard Street observed a black motor vehicle traveling down a one way with two clearly posted "do not enter" signs. The officer conducted a traffic stop on Stedman Street.  A query of the vehicle revealed a revoked registration. The operator was informed the status of his vehicle exited the vehicle without incident.  The vehicle was towed and the operator was issued a citation.

2/12/17 - Warrant
Officers arrived on Smythe St. in an attempt to serve a subject with a probation violation warrant. The subject was informed of the warrant and taken into custody without incident.


Blog for 2/13

2/13/17 – B&E of Motor Vehicle
An officer responded to Gardner Road for a Break and Entering of a motor vehicle. The victim stated the motor vehicle was parked in his drive way at approximately 1800 hours on February 12, 2017. He came out of his house at 0630 hours on February 13, 2017 and entered his motor vehicle to find contents from the glove box were taken out and strewn on the passenger front seat. There were no signs of forced entry and the victim stated that he may have left his motor vehicle doors unlocked.

2/13/17 - Warrant
Detectives observed a subject known to have an outstanding arrest warrant in the area of Malcolm X Blvd. and King St. The subject was placed under arrest without incident and transported to Brookline Police headquarters.
