Police Reports 6/5-6/6

Sector 3

Bike Theft: 6/6 between 11:45 AM and 1:30 PM- Kenwood St.

An individual reported the theft of a bicycle. The victim stated that unknown suspect(s) removed the unlocked bicycle from a bike rack in the rear of her residence.

Sector 4

Not Duly Licensed: 6/6 at 1:21 AM- Cypress St. / Boylston St.

An officer observed a vehicle failing to stay within the marked lanes of traffic. The officer initiated a traffic stop at the intersection of Boylston Street and Cypress Street.  A query revealed that the operator did not have a valid license and he was placed under arrest for Not Duly Licensed.

Arrest: 6/6 at 1:33 AM- Harvard St.

An officer observed a vehicle traveling with defective headlights. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Harvard Street. A query revealed that the driver had a suspended license as well as a warrant out of Brighton District Court. The driver was placed under arrest for Operating after Suspension and the warrant.

Sector 5

Larceny: 6/6 between 7:30 and 9:00 AM- Beacon St.

An individual reported the larceny of a wallet. The victim stated that she believed that unknown suspect(s) removed the wallet from her unlocked vehicle while it was parked in her driveway.

Bike Theft: 6/6 between 8:00 AM and 12:00 PM- Clinton Rd.

An individual reported the theft of a bicycle. The victim stated that unknown suspect(s) removed her bicycle from an open garage.


Bike thief arrested, stealing police bike

Thursday at approximately 619 AM the departments GPS tracking “bait” bike was stolen. An officer on patrol was driving in the area of Harvard street and Thorndike street. The bait bike had just recently been locked there. The officer saw a subject removing the bike and start to walk away. The officer stopped the subject as the tracking system activated the alert to the station. The subject was quickly and without incident placed under arrest. In his possession was a pair of wire cutters, and an older model bike he claimed was his. This is the first arrest made in association with the bait bike. We will continue the deployment of it in areas that have seen an increase in the thefts. This deployment coupled with patrols should help reduce those numbers, get the word out we have lots of bait. Today’s subject arrested is a 43 year old male from Boston scheduled to be arraigned in Brookline court.

Police Reports 6/4-6/5

Not Duly Licensed: 6/4 at 7:18 PM- High St. / Cumberland Ave.

An officer observed a vehicle fail to stop for a stop sign. The officer initiated a traffic stop on High St. A query revealed that the driver did not have a valid license and he was placed under arrest for Not Duly Licensed.

Sector 1

MV Theft: 6/4 at 4:15 PM- Beacon St.

An individual reported the theft of his 2011 Honda Civic. The victim stated that unknown suspect(s) stole his vehicle from a rear alley in the area of Beacon St. Also reported missing with the vehicle was a wallet containing cash and credit cards, a check book, an Amazon Kindle, sunglasses, personal papers, and fishing equipment.

Larceny: 6/4 between 1:15 and 9:00 AM- Freeman St.

An individual reported the larceny of a license plate. The victim stated that unknown suspect(s) removed the license plate from his motorcycle sometime between 1:15 and 9:00 AM.

Sector 3

Arrest: 6/4 at 6:16 PM- Harvard St.

A gas station employee reported a disturbance involving a male subject. A query of the subject’s information revealed that he had a warrant out of Brookline District Court. The subject was placed under arrest for the warrant.

OUIL: 6/5 at 2:43 AM- Beacon St.

An officer observed a vehicle travel through a red light. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Beacon St. Upon reaching the driver’s window the officer could detect an odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from the vehicle. Based on the observations the driver was placed under arrest for Operating under the Influence of Liquor.

Police Reports 6/3-6/4

Sector 5

Shoplifting: 6/3 at 3:20 PM- Beacon St.

A Shaw’s employee reported a shoplifting. The employee stated that he observed a male subject concealing items in a backpack. The subject was placed under arrest for Shoplifting.

Larceny from MV: 6/3 between 7:00 and 10:00 PM- Clark Rd

An individual reported the larceny of a wallet from her motor vehicle. The victim stated that she parked her vehicle in her driveway at approximately 7:00 PM. When she returned at 10:00 PM, she discovered that the driver’s side and passenger side doors were slightly ajar. The victim further discovered that her wallet containing $300 USC and credit cards was missing from the vehicle.

Operating after Suspension: 6/4 at 1:01 AM- Boylston St. / Philbrick Rd.

An officer observed a vehicle make an illegal U-turn on Boylston St. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Boylston St. at Philbrick Rd. A query revealed that the driver had a suspended license and she was placed under arrest for Operating after Suspension.

Police Reports 5/31-6/3

Assault: 6/1 at 9:38 PM- Walnut St.

Officers responded to the area of Walnut St. for a noise complaint. Upon arrival, officers attempted to stop a male individual walking away from the building in which the noise was coming from. This individual became very aggressive and belligerent with officers. The subject yelled in the faces of several officers and bumped chests with one officer. The subject was placed under arrest for Assault and Battery on a Police Officer and Disorderly Person.

MV Theft: Between 5/31 and 6/1- Brookline Ave.

An individual reported the theft of a motor vehicle. The victim stated that he parked his vehicle on Brookline Ave. at approximately 6:45 PM on 5/31. When he returned the next day he discovered that his vehicle was missing. The vehicle was later recovered at Reservation Rd. and Hyde Park Ave. in Boston.

Sector 3

Motorized Scooter Theft: Between 5/17 and 5/30- Harvard St.

An individual reported the theft of a motorized scooter. The victim stated that she locked her scooter to a pole on Harvard St. on 5/17. The victim further stated that she noticed the scooter was missing on 5/30.

Sector 6

Arrest: 6/1 at 1:27 AM- Crafts Rd.

An individual was placed under arrest in the area of Crafts Rd. on a warrant out of Brookline District Court.
