Police Reports 2/23-2/24

Arrest: Occurred on 2/23 at 5:26 PM- Harvard St.

An employee at TJ Maxx reported a shoplifter. The employee stated that he observed the suspect conceal several clothing items in a backpack. The suspect was placed under arrest for shoplifting. A search of the suspect’s backpack revealed hypodermic needles and a substance consistent with heroin. The suspect is being charged with Shoplifting and Possession of a Class A Substance.

Larceny: Occurred between 2/22 and 2/23- Hammond St.

A Hammond St. resident reported a burglary. The victim stated that two bikes had been locked inside a garage on 2/22 at 10:30 PM. When the victim left for work at 7:30 AM on 2/23, the bikes were missing.

Larceny: Occurred on 2/13- Dudley St.

A construction employee reported a past larceny. The employee stated that while renovating a Dudley St. residence, copper parts had been removed from the house and placed in the backyard for later use. The employee stated that on 2/13 he discovered the property had been stolen.

Police Reports 2/22-2/23

B&E Motor Vehicle: Occurred on 2/22 between 6:30 and 9:54 PM- Browne St.

A Browne St. resident reported a breaking and entering of a motor vehicle. The victim stated that he parked his car at 6:30 PM, and when he returned at 9:54 PM he noticed the passenger window was smashed. A radar detector was missing from the vehicle.

B&E Motor Vehicle: Occurred on 2/22 between 8:30 and 10:00 PM- Rawson Rd.

An individual reported a breaking and entering of a motor vehicle. The victim stated that she parked her car on Rawson Rd. at 8:30 PM. When she returned at 10:00, she noticed the passenger side window was shattered and a GPS unit was missing from the vehicle.

B&E Motor Vehicle: Occurred on 2/22 between 8:00 and 11:11 PM- Parkman St.

An individual reported a breaking and entering of a motor vehicle. The victim stated that she parked her car on Parkman St. at 8:00 PM. When she returned at 11:11, she noticed that the passenger window had been smashed. A GPS unit was missing from the vehicle.

Police Reports 2/21-2/2

Burglary Attempt: Occurred on 2/21 between 9:00 and 10:45 PM- Kent St.

A Kent St. resident reported an attempted burglary. The resident stated that she went into her bedroom and noticed a window was open with the screen missing. There appeared to be pry marks on the outside of the window. It does not appear that the suspect gained entry to the house, and no items were reported missing.

Arrest: Occurred on 2/21 at 7:33 PM- Hammond St.

A black Honda Accord was traveling on Hammond St. at a high rate of speed. The officer conducted a traffic stop on Hammond St. A query of the operator revealed that she had a suspended license. The driver was placed under arrest and issued a citation for Operating after Suspension and Speeding. The driver also had a warrant out of Stoughton District Court.

Traffic Stop: Occurred on 2/22 at 12:30 AM- Boylston St.

A vehicle was traveling on Boylston St. at a high rate of speed. The officer conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Boylston St. and Reservoir Rd. A query of the driver revealed that his right to operate in Massachusetts was suspended and the registration was expired. The driver will be summonsed to Brookline District Court. He was issued a citation for Operating after Suspension, Expired Registration, and Speeding.

Larceny: Occurred between 2/19 and 2/20- Centre St.

An employee of a Centre St. business reported the larceny of a locked-box from an office. The employee stated that she had locked the office on 2/16, and returned to work on 2/20 when she noticed the locked-box was missing. Another employee stated that he had locked the office on 2/19 and when he returned the next day the office was unlocked.

Police Reports 2/17-2/21

Arrest: Occurred on 2/18 at 12:37 AM- Harvard St.

A vehicle was traveling on Harvard Street with its registration sticker improperly affixed to the rear number plate. The officer conducted a traffic stop on Harvard St. A query of the operator revealed that he had three default warrants out of South Boston District Court. The driver was placed under arrest for the outstanding warrants.

OUIL: Occurred on 2/18 at 2:15 AM- Beacon St.

A brown Honda Accord took an illegal left turn from Harvard St. onto Beacon St. The officer conducted a traffic stop on Beacon St. Upon reaching the operator’s window, the officer noticed the driver’s side door was covered in vomit, and there was an odor of alcohol emanating from the vehicle. Based on the observations, the driver was placed under arrest for Operating Under the Influence of Intoxicating Liquor. The operator’s license was subsequently suspended.

Assault: Occurred on 2/18 at 2:52 AM- Babcock St.

An officer responded to Babcock St. for a disturbance call. The officer was met by two individuals, one of whom was bleeding from the mouth. The two individuals stated that they were walking on Babcock St. when they encountered a third party, who began to accost them. The victim and the witness stated that as they were crossing Babcock St., the third party struck the victim in the face with his fist, resulting in lacerations and a loose tooth. Officers observed blood spatter in the area described by the victim. The suspect was identified and was found sitting in front of his Babcock St. residence. The suspect was placed under arrest for Assault and Battery and Disorderly Conduct.

Arrest: Occurred on 2/19 at 4:15 PM- Beacon St.

A gray vehicle was traveling on Beacon St at a high rate of speed and with an unreasonably loud exhaust system. The officer conducted a traffic stop on Beacon St. A query of the operator revealed that his right to operate in Massachusetts was suspended and that he had an active arrest warrant. The driver was placed under arrest for Operating After Suspension and the warrant.

OUIL: Occurred on 2/20 at 1:39 AM- Beacon St./ Pleasant St.

Officers observed a taxi cab and a Jeep stopped at the intersection of Pleasant Street and Beacon St. that had just been involved in an accident. The driver of the taxi stated that he was struck from behind by the Jeep at the intersection of Beacon and Pleasant St. Upon talking to the driver of the Jeep, officers could detect a strong odor of alcohol emanating from his person. Based on the observations, the driver of the Jeep was placed under arrest for Operating Under the Influence of Intoxicating Liquor.

Burglary: Occurred between 2/12 and 2/19- Atherton Rd.

Atherton Rd. residents reported a burglary. The victims stated that they returned home on 2/19 at 8:00 PM after being away for a week. The victims noticed a side window was open and items in the bedroom had been scattered around. The victims reported items to be missing from their bedroom.

Assault: Occurred on 2/21 at 6:44 AM- Babcock St.

Officers responded to HRI hospital to take an assault report. The victim stated that she was watching television when the suspect threw a cup of hot coffee in her face. A staff member who witnessed the incident corroborated the victim’s statements. The suspect will be summonsed to Brookline District Court for Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon.
