7/25-7/26

Sector 1

Larceny: 7/25/2013 at 8:00 am- 6:30 pm- Greenway Ct.

An officer was dispatched to Greenway Ct. for a report of a past Breaking and Entering. There were no signs of forced entry, but the victims reported a missing prescription bottle. No other items in the apartment appeared to be missing.

Sector 2

Receiving Stolen Property: 7/25/2013 at 9:32 pm- Pearl St.

An officer observed two subjects on a scooter. The driver was wearing a helmet, but the passenger was not. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Pearl St. A query revealed the driver of the scooter had a suspended license. Further investigation revealed the scooter had been reported stolen. A search of the suspect’s backpack revealed two prescription medication bottles for which the suspect did not have a prescription. A search of the second suspect revealed loose pills for which the suspect did not have a prescription. The suspects were placed under arrest for Receiving Stolen Property and Possession of Class E Drugs.


Burglary: 7/24/2013 at 7:30 am - 7/25/2013 at 9:30 pm- Aspinwall Av.

An officer was dispatched to Aspinwall Av. after receiving a report of Breaking and Entering. Investigation revealed a bedroom window had been forcibly opened, but nothing in the apartment was missing. A resident of the building reported hearing someone moving around the window around 4:00 am on 7/25/2013, but had not seen the suspect. Further attempts to locate the intruder have proved unsuccessful thus far.


Sector 3

Warrant Arrest: 7/25/2013 at 11:16 am- Harvard St.

An officer received an anonymous phone call saying two individuals were acting suspiciously and may be involved in a drug transaction. The officer stopped the individuals on Harvard St. A query revealed a warrant out of Natick District Court for one of the subjects. The individual was placed under arrest for the warrant.


Sector 4

Not Duly Licensed: 7/25/2013 at 5:12 pm- Washington St./ Park St.

An officer observed a vehicle run a red light. The officer initiated a traffic stop at the intersection of Washington and Park St. A query revealed the driver did not have a license. He was placed under arrest for being Not Duly Licensed.


Sector 5

Attempted Larceny: 7/25/2013 at 6:10 pm- Tappan St.

An officer was dispatched to Tappan St. after receiving a report about a potential scam. Upon arrival, the officer spoke with the two victims who stated they had received a phone call from a man claiming to work for the Publishing Clearings House. The man then attempted to obtain their credit card information. The victims were advised to call the police if anyone claiming to work for the Publishing Clearings House came to their residence.

Police Reports 7/24-7/25

Sector 2

O.U.I.L: 7/25/2013 at 2:01 am- Longwood Ave/ St. Paul St.

An officer observed a vehicle traveling at night without headlights. The officer initiated a traffic stop at the intersection of St. Paul and Longwood Ave. Upon reaching the driver the officer could detect the odor of an alcoholic beverage. Based on observation, the driver was placed under arrest for Operating under the Influence of Liquor. After an inventory search of the vehicle the driver was additionally charged with Open Container- Alcohol and Possession of Class E and Class D Drugs. 

Sector 4

Warrant Arrest: 7/24/2013 at 11:05 pm- Boylston St.

A query of a vehicle’s information revealed the registered owner had two outstanding warrants. An officer initiated a traffic stop on Boylston St. The driver was confirmed to be the registered owner of the vehicle. The driver was placed under arrest for the two warrants out of Cambridge and Quincy District Courts.

Sector 5

Operating after Revocation: 7/24/2013 at 11:12 pm- Washington St.

An officer observed a vehicle run a red light. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Washington St. A query revealed the driver’s license had been revoked. The driver was placed under arrest for Operating after Revocation.

Police Reports 7/23-7/24

Sector 2

Drug Arrest: 7/23/2013 at 5:43 pm- Harvard St./ Longwood Ave.

An officer observed a vehicle with an expired inspection sticker and initiated a traffic stop on Harvard St. A search of the vehicle revealed prescription pills in a backpack. The owner of the backpack did not have a prescription for the medication and was placed under arrest for Possession of a Class E Drug.

Sector 3

Operating after Suspension: 7/23/2013 at 10:55 am- Centre St./ Beacon St.

An officer observed a vehicle make an illegal u-turn. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Centre St. A query revealed the driver had a suspended license and was placed under arrest for Operating after Suspension.

Sector 4

Operating after Suspension: 7/23/2013 at 4:13 pm- Beacon St.

An officer observed a vehicle traveling at an accelerated speed. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Beacon St. A query revealed the driver had a suspended license and was placed under arrest for Operating after Suspension.

Operating after Suspension: 7/23/2013 at 7:52 pm- High St.

Officers observed a subject operating a vehicle who was known to have a suspended license. Officers initiated a traffic stop on High St. It was confirmed the driver’s license was suspended and he was placed under arrest for Operating after Suspension.

Brookline Police Reports 7/22/2013-7/23/2013

Sector 1

Shoplifting: 7/22/2013 at 10:00 am- Beacon St.

A CVS employee reported a shoplifting. The employee stated he observed two male subjects conceal items in a personal bag and leave the store without paying. Officers were able to find two subjects who matched the description in the area. They were positively identified as the suspects and were placed under arrest for Shoplifting.

Operating after Suspension: 7/22/2013 at 10:53 pm- Beacon St.

A query of a vehicle’s information revealed that the registered owner had a suspended license. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Beacon St. The driver was confirmed to be the registered owner and was placed under arrest for Operating after Suspension.

Warrant Arrest: 7/23/2013 at 4:24 am- Egmont St.

An officer observed a vehicle operating on the wrong side of the road. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Egmont St. A query revealed that the driver had a warrant out of Brighton District Court. The driver was placed under arrest for the warrant.


Sector 2

Warrant Arrest: 7/22/2013 at 1:59 am- Beacon St./ Charles St.

An officer observed make a prohibited left turn onto Beacon St. The officer initiated a traffic stop at the intersection of Beacon and Charles St. A query revealed that the driver had a warrant out of Taunton District Court. The driver was placed under arrest for the warrant.

Sector 3

Shoplifting: 7/21/2013 at 2:50 pm- Beacon St.

A Radio Shack employee reported a shoplifting. The employee stated that he observed several items missing from the store shelf. After reviewing the surveillance video it was determined that two male subjects had stolen the items from the store. Suspect number one is described as a light skin Hispanic male, 30's wearing a black baseball cap backwards, sunglasses, white shirt, black sweat pants with a thick white stripe down the side,  and black sneakers. The second suspect is described as a white male, 30's, wearing blue jeans, gray sleeveless shirt, black hat with white emblem and black sneakers.

Warrant Arrest: 7/23/2013 at 2:11 am- Beacon St.

A query of a vehicle’s information revealed that the registered owner had a warrant and a suspended license. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Beacon St. The registered owner was the passenger in the vehicle and was placed under arrest for a warrant. A query of the driver’s information revealed that he did not have a valid license. He was placed under arrest for Not Duly Licensed.



Sector 8

Operating After Suspension: 7/22/2013 at 8:03 am- Boylston St.

An officer observed a vehicle fail to stop for a red light. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Boylston St. A query revealed the driver had a suspended license and was placed under arrest for Operating after Suspension.

Sector 9

B&E MV: 7/22/2013 at 3:01 am- Sherrin Rd.

An individual reported the break in of a motor vehicle. The victim stated that he heard a noise outside of his residence and witnessed and unknown individual next to his vehicle with the driver’s door open. The suspect fled down Sherrin Rd. to Hackensack Rd. The suspect was described as a tanned skin male wearing a black baseball hat, dark tank top, dark pants and black shoes. A search of the area for the suspect yielded negative results. Nothing was reported missing from the vehicle.

Police Reports 7/18-7/22

Sector 1

Operating after Suspension: 7/19 at 2:50 AM- Harvard St.

An officer observed a vehicle travel through a red light. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Harvard St. A query revealed that the driver had a suspended license and he was placed under arrest for Operating after Suspension.

Larceny: 7/20 between 4:00 and 5:00 PM- Commonwealth Ave.

An individual reported a larceny from a gym locker on Commonwealth Ave. The victim stated that someone entered his locker and removed a wallet containing credit cards and cash.

Sector 2

Failure to Stop: 7/18 at 10:25 PM- Aspinwall Ave. / Brook St.

An officer observed a moped fail to yield to pedestrians in a marked crosswalk. The officer attempted to initiate a traffic stop on Brook St. However, when the officer stepped out of his vehicle the driver of the moped took off at a high rate of speed. After a short pursuit the operator lost control of the moped and he was placed into custody. The operator was placed under arrest for Disorderly Conduct, Not Duly Licensed, Failure to Stop for a Police Officer, Operating to Endanger, and Resisting Arrest.

Sector 3

B&E MV: 7/18 between 4:30 and 5:45 PM- Beacon St. / Warwick Rd.

An individual reported the breaking and entering of a motor vehicle. The victim stated that someone entered her unlocked vehicle while it was parked on Beacon St. A suitcase containing a camera and clothing was reported stolen from the vehicle.

Burglary Arrest: 7/20 at 1:29 AM- Westbourne Tr.

Officers responded to Westbourne Tr. for a residential breaking and entering. Upon arrival officers observed an open window and screen that appeared to be the point of entrance. Officers stopped a male individual in the area to conduct a field interview. This individual was placed under arrest for Breaking and Entering at Night with Intent to Commit a Felony. He was also charged with Possession of a Class E Drug.

B&E MV: 7/21 between 3:00 and 4:15 PM- Harvard St.

An individual reported the breaking and entering of a motor vehicle. The victim stated that someone entered his vehicle while it was parked on Harvard St. An iPod was reported stolen from the vehicle.

Sector 4

Operating after Suspension: 7/18 at 9:17 AM- Boylston St. / Cypress St.

An officer observed a vehicle merge into a lane without using caution, nearly causing an accident. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Boylston Street at the intersection of Cypress Street. A query revealed that the driver had a suspended license and she was placed under arrest for Operating after Suspension.

Warrant Arrest: 7/19 at 10:50 AM- Elm St.

Officers responded to the area of Elm St. for the report of a suspicious male entering porches to several residences in the area. Officers located an individual who matched the description in the area. A query revealed that the subject had a warrant out of Brookline District Court and he was placed under arrest.

Operating after Suspension: 7/19 at 4:40 PM- Washington St. / Park St.

An officer observed a vehicle traveling with defective brake lights. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Washington St. at Park St. A query revealed that the driver had a suspended license and he was placed under arrest for Operating after Suspension.

Warrant Arrest: 7/21 at 11:05 AM- Harvard St.

An officer observed a cyclist fail to stop for a red light. The officer initiated a stop on Harvard St. A query revealed that the individual had a warrant out of Quincy District Court. The subject was placed under arrest for the warrant, Possession of Burglarious Tools, and Receiving Stolen Property.

Sector 6

Operating after Suspension: 7/19 at 9:54 PM- Dunster Rd. / Boylston St.

An officer observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed. The operator briefly attempted to elude the officer until coming to a stop on Boylston St. The operator was placed under arrest for Failure to Stop for a Police Officer and Operating after Suspension.

Sector 7

Burglary: Between 7/19 and 7/21- Dudley St.

An individual reported a residential breaking and entering. The victim stated that she returned home to find a basement door had been forced in. Silverware and jewelry were reported stolen from the home.


Sector 9

Burglary: 7/19 between 8:00 AM and 4:54 PM- Lagrange St.

Officers responded to Lagrange St. for a burglar alarm. Upon arrival it was determined that someone had forced open a rear door. It did not appear that anything was taken from the residence. A search of the area for the suspect yielded negative results.
