Arrest made today near the Baker School

On 12/6/13, An officer  observed a Black Mitsubishi with Mass plates make a illegal left turn into the circle in front of the Baker School, 205 Beverly Rd.
 This m/v was stopped and the operator was asked for his license and registration. A check with the Registry of Motor Vehicle revealed that his right to Operate a Motor Vehicle was Suspended.
 A check with Registry of Motor Vehicle revealed that the motor vehicle with Mass plates was status  revoked. This m/v belong to a the passenger in the m/v, her license was also revoked at this time..
  At this time the subject was placed under arrest for Operating after Suspension, he was transported to the station by the 555 car he was booked and advised of his right's. He was issued a citation, for Operating after Suspension, Revoke Registration and No Left Turn.
 The M/V was towed the owner of the m/v was issued a citation for Allowing a Unlicensed Person to Operate a M/V and having a Revoke Registration.
 During booking it was revealed that  the subject was also a Level Three Sexual Offender out of Boston. Our investigation is still on going. Late information was obtained during the follow up investigation that he was not dropping off children at the school. He is not a parent of a child that attends there.   He was there to drive the adult passenger. He is scheduled to be arraigned in Brookline District Court on Monday. The subject is a resident of Boston.

Operating After Suspension: 12/05/2013 at 9:42 p.m. – Harvard St./ Foster St.
An officer observed a vehicle operating with an expired inspection sticker. A query of the car’s information revealed the owner had a suspended license. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Harvard St. The driver of the vehicle was confirmed to be the owner. She was placed under arrest for Operating After Suspension.

Operating After Suspension: 12/06/2013 at 2:00 a.m. – Boylston St.
An officer observed a vehicle traveling at a rate of speed above the posted speed limit. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Boylston St. A query of the driver’s information revealed he had a suspended license. He was placed under arrest for Operating After Suspension.

Sector 8

Disorderly Person: 12/05/2013 at 5:14 p.m. – Lee St.
An officer on detail observed a car driving at a high rate of speed through a construction zone. The officer signaled to the vehicle to stop, but the driver ignored the officer and continued to drive quickly away from the scene. The officer once again signaled the vehicle to stop, which it eventually did. The officer observed the driver to be visibly agitated. As the officer approached the vehicle, the driver repeatedly berated the officer and other drivers. Several other officers arrived on scene to assist. At this time, the driver was placed under arrest for Disorderly Conduct.

Sector 1
Larceny: 12/12/2013 at 7:00 p.m. – Commonwealth Ave.
An officer was dispatched to a business on Commonwealth Ave. to take a report of Larceny. Upon arrival, the officer was met by the store manager who had retrieved a duffel bag full of products from an attempted larceny. The manager stated he heard the store alarm go off and observed a man running from the front of the store. The manager pursued the man who threw the duffel bag down and continued to flee the scene. Brookline officers were able to stop and identify the suspect. The matter is currently under investigation.

Sector 4
Burglary: 12/03/2013 at 7:15 p.m. – Walnut St.
An officer was dispatched to a residence on Walnut St. to take a report of Burglary. Upon arrival, the officer was met by the victim who stated when she returned home she noticed two laptops were missing as well as a camera. There were no signs of forced entry. It is believed the suspect entered the home through the unlocked rear door.
Larceny: 12/04/2013 at 5:08 p.m. – Walnut St.
An officer was dispatched to a residence on Walnut St. to take a report of Larceny. Upon arrival, the officer was met by the victim who stated a large sum of money was stolen from his bedroom. The apartment is shared with four other occupants, although the victim stated he did not suspect any of them of taking the money.

Operating After Revocation: 12/04/2013 at 1:20 a.m. – Boylston St./ Chestnut Hill Av.
An officer observed a vehicle traveling at a rate of speed above the posted limit. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Boylston St. A query of the driver’s information revealed she had a revoked license. She was placed under arrest for Operating After Revocation.

Town Employee Arrested


BROOKLINE POLICE DEPARTMENT
PUBLIC STATEMENT/PRESS RELEASE
 ARREST OF TOWN EMPLOYEE
On December 2, 2013, Brookline Police investigators arrested a Town of Brookline employee and charged him with Larceny by Embezzlement. The suspect is scheduled to be arraigned in the Brookline District Court on Wednesday, December 4.  Prior to the suspect’s arrest, he held the position of Administrative Assistant in the Engineering Division of the Town’s Department of Public Works.  Effective December 3, the suspect was placed on administrative leave from his employment with the Town pending a disciplinary hearing. 
The arrest followed an investigation into allegations of the suspect’s involvement in the misappropriation of money received by the Town’s Department of Public Works.  The Town considers the misappropriation of public funds to be an extraordinarily serious offense, and requires strict employee compliance with the state Conflict of Interest law and the Town’s Policy against Fraudulent Conduct, Misappropriation, and Corruption. 
Because the Town’s administrative process and the police investigation remain ongoing, the Town is unable to provide any further comments at this time.

Operating After Suspension: 12/02/2013 at 4:38 p.m. – Hammond St.
A random query of a vehicle revealed the status of the registration plate was revoked. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Hammond St. A query of the driver’s information revealed his license was revoked. He was placed under arrest for Operating After Suspension.

Sector 3
Malicious Damage: 12/01/2013 at 10:00 a.m. – Fuller St.
An officer was dispatched to Fuller St. to take a report of malicious damage to a motor vehicle. Upon arrival, the officer was met by the neighbor of the victim who stated his neighbor’s car had been shot with a BB gun. There have been similar incidents in the area.

Sector 1

Larceny: 11/30/2013 at 6:39 p.m. – Commonwealth Ave
Several officers were dispatched to a business on Commonwealth Ave after receiving a report for a shoplifting that had just occurred. Upon arrival, the officers were met by an employee who stated the suspect had distracted him and stolen a few packs of cigarettes. The suspect was described as a male wearing a green, winter jacket.  

O.U.I.L.: 12/02/2013 at 1:37 a.m. – Green St.
An officer observed a vehicle with a broken headlight. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Green St. The officer was able to detect a moderate odor of alcohol as he approached the vehicle. Furthermore, the officer noted the driver was slurring his words. The driver was placed under arrest for Operating Under the Influence of Liquor.

Operating After Revocation: 11/30/2013 at 11:51 a.m. – Harvard St./ Longwood Ave
An officer observed a vehicle operating with an inspired inspection sticker. The officer initiated a traffic stop at the intersection of Harvard St. and Longwood Ave. A query of the driver’s information revealed his license was revoked. He was placed under arrest for Operating After Revocation.

Operating After Revocation: 11/30/2013 at 4:28 a.m. – Park St.
A random query of a vehicle’s information revealed the car had a failed inspection sticker. An officer initiated a traffic stop on Park St. A query of the driver’s information revealed he had a revoked license. He was placed under arrest for Operating After Revocation.

Sector 8

Malicious Damage: 11/28/2013 at 12:17 p.m. – Singletree Rd.
An officer was dispatched to Singletree Rd. to take a report of malicious damage to a motor vehicle. Upon arrival, the officer was met by the victim who stated that each of her vehicle, all while parked in the driveway of her residence, were ‘egged.’ There was no additional damage to the vehicles.

Burglary: 11/30/2013 at 4:30 p.m. – Heath St.
An officer was dispatched to Heath St. in order to take a report of Burglary. Upon arrival, the officer was met by the victim who stated she left her room for a brief period of time, leaving the door locked. When she returned, the door was still locked but her IPad was missing from her room. The Housing Director was contacted who stated cleaners had entered the room while the victim was out. The matter is currently under investigation.
