FRAUD - Officers took a report of ID fraud. The reporting party stated they were advised that unemployment benefits had been collected using their name and social security number, without their prior knowledge or consent. The matter is under investigation.

MALICIOUS DAMAGE - Officers were called to Coolidge Corner for a report of malicious damage. The reporting party stated that an individual had forced open the smoking receptacle but walked away when confronted by an employee. They returned later to rip the receptacle open again, threw it on the ground, and then stomped on it. The matter is under investigation.

FRAUD - Officers took a report of ID fraud. The reporting party stated they received a phone call from someone claiming to work for Amazon. The individual made claims of identity theft and transferred them to another individual claiming to be with the DEA, who threatened to cancel their social security number. The matter is under investigation.

SHOPLIFTING - Officers responded to Harvard St for a report of larceny and of an individual making threats. The reporting party stated they confronted an individual attempting to shoplift. The male individual made threats and hand gestures as if they had a weapon in their hands. Once they exited the store, they pulled out a knife, put it on display, then left the area on foot. The perpetrator was summonsed to court.

FRAUD - Officers took a report of fraud by check. The reporting party stated they discovered checks they had written were altered and deposited without their knowledge or consent. The matter is under investigation.


Wednesday, May 11

ANIMAL BITE - Officers took a report of a dog bite that occurred at Amory Park. The reporting party stated they were walking their dog off leash when they approached another pair playing ball with their dog. The other dog attacked the dog unprovoked, and the other owners separated the two animals. The owner was issued a by-law citation.

ANIMAL BITE - Officers took a report of a dog bite that occurred on Brookline Av. The reporting party stated their dog was running off-leash in the park when it attacked another dog. They have been issued a by-law citation.

FRAUD - Officers took a report of fraud. The reporting party stated they received notice from their bank that their account had been over-drafted, but they did not authorize any of the transactions. The matter is under investigation.

PACKAGE THEFT - Officers took a report of a theft that occurred on Beacon St. The reporting party stated they received confirmation of a delivery, but when they went to retrieve the packages, they were gone. The matter is under investigation.

THEFT - Officers took a report of a theft that occurred on Commonwealth Av. The reporting party stated they stored items in an unlocked locker and returned an hour later to discover they were missing. They were later notified of fraudulent charges to their bank account. The matter is under investigation.


Friday, May 13

FRAUD - Officers took a report of ID fraud. The reporting party stated they received a letter indicating they had filed for an unemployment claim and outlining their new account, despite never having done so. The matter is under investigation.

ROBBERY - Officers were called to Harvard St for a report of a robbery. The reporting party stated a male individual placed a note on the counter demanding money, before fleeing the scene. The perpetrator has been arrested.


Saturday, May 14

ATTEMPTED ROBBERY - Officers responded to Beacon St for a report of an attempted robbery. The reporting party stated they were walking down the street when a male individual approached them on a moped. He then demanded the victim's money and belongings, but they were able to leave without further interaction. The matter is under investigation.

MOPED THEFT - Officers were called to Summit Av for a report of a theft. The reporting party stated they witnessed two individuals cutting the lock on their scooter, that was parked in the driveway. The matter is under investigation. 


Sunday, May 15

ASSAULT - Officers responded to the area of Mountfort St and Carlton St for a report of road rage. The reporting party stated an operator of the vehicle behind them was behaving erratically and aggressively. While both vehicles were stopped, the suspect banged on the windows with a knife and screamed profanities. No one was injured. The perpetrator was identified and summonsed to court.

GRAFFITI - Officers were called to Harvard St for a report of graffiti. The reporting party stated they found new graffiti on public property. The matter has been referred to the Community Service Department.

PACKAGE THEFT - Officers responded to Harris St for a report of a package theft. The reporting party stated they received notification of the delivery, but when they went to retrieve the package, it was missing. The matter is under investigation.

AUTO PARTS THEFT - Officers were called to Washburn Tr for a report of a theft. The reporting party stated they had left their vehicle in a garage for a few days and returned to discover that the catalytic converter had been stolen. The matter is under investigation.

FRAUD - Officers took a report of fraud. The reporting party stated they discovered a fraudulent check transaction and later received a phone call asking for compensation for checks. The matter is under investigation.


Wednesday, May 25

ASSAULT - Officers responded to Clyde St for a report of an altercation between two individuals. The reporting party stated an individual had become irate after a conversation and proceeded to throw a soda at the victim and repeatedly strike them. The suspect will be summonsed to court for assault.

FRAUD - Officers took a report of fraud. The reporting party stated that they received an email from Norton Antivirus which claimed the product trial was over and to call the provided number for a refund. An individual claiming to be from Norton stated they made a mistake in typing out the refund and requested the reporting party pay the remaining balance. The matter is under investigation.

ASSAULT - Officers were called to the area of Brookline Av and Park St for a report of an assault. The reporting party stated they were driving a male individual to a new destination, when they decided to cancel the ride. The passenger became upset, threw food at the driver, and proceeded to strike them in the head before fleeing the vehicle. The matter is under investigation.

BURGLARY - Officers responded to Asheville Rd for a report of trespassing. Officers searched the site and found a male individual, who admitted to breaking into the location. The suspect was identified and placed under arrest for breaking and entering.

FRAUD - Officers took a report of fraud. The reporting party stated they discovered a check attached to their account had been altered and then cashed without their knowledge or consent. The matter is under investigation.

The reporting party stated they witnessed a male individual walking up their neighbor's driveway, looking in windows, and attempting to open doors. The suspect was identified and placed under arrest for breaking and entering.

MALICIOUS DAMAGE - Officers were called to St Marys St for a report of malicious damage. The reporting party stated they heard a truck make contact with a building and went out to confront the driver, who left the scene. The matter is under investigation.

BURGLARY - Officers responded to Hylsop Rd for a report of a breaking and entering. The reporting party stated that they discovered an individual had gained entry through an unlocked door overnight and stole items. The matter is under investigation.

MALICIOUS DAMAGE - Officers were called to Russell St for a report of malicious damage. The reporting party stated that at some point during the night, someone had done significant damage to the front steps of a residence. The matter is under investigation.

MV THEFT - Officers were called to Walnut St for a report of a theft of a motorcycle. The reporting party stated they had parked the motorcycle in their driveway overnight and discovered it missing in the morning. The matter is under investigation.

ASSAULT - Officers responded to Commonwealth Av for a report of shoplifting. The reporting party stated a male individual attempted to leave the store without paying for the merchandise in his bag. When an employee confronted him, he pushed past them and continued to exit the store. The perpetrator was summonsed to court.

BAT EXPOSURE - Officers responded to Winchester St for a report of a live bat inside of an apartment. The animal was captured and transported for testing.

PACKAGE THEFT - Officers were called to Egmont St for a report of a theft. The reporting party stated they received confirmation of the delivery, but when they went to retrieve the package, they found it ripped open and the contents missing. The matter is under investigation.

THEFT - Officers responded to Winthrop Rd for a report of a stolen license plate. The reporting party stated they discovered that the rear license plate had been ripped off the back of their vehicle, damaging the bumper. The matter is under investigation.

The reporting party stated they left their vehicle unlocked overnight in a parking lot and discovered that the door was slightly open and that the center console had been rummaged through. FRAUD - Officers took a report of fraud. The reporting party stated they agreed to sell a couch to an individual, who sent the funds through Zelle. The suspect claimed they sent too much and requested a partial reimbursement, ceasing all contact after the fact. The matter is under investigation.
