Police Reports 3/4-3/7

Sector 1

Shoplifting: 3/4 at 3:06 PM- Beacon St.

An employee of a Beacon St. business reported a shoplifting. The employee stated that she observed a female suspect conceal items from the store in her clothing. The suspect was in the company of two other females. A search of all three individuals produced items from other Brookline businesses for which the individuals could not produce receipts. One individual was arrested for Larceny over $250 and Shoplifting. The other two individuals will be summonsed to court for the same offenses.

Operating after Suspension: 3/5 at 2:02 AM- St. Paul St. / Dummer St.

Officers observed an individual sleeping in the driver’s seat of a running vehicle. A query revealed that the driver had a suspended license. The driver was placed under arrest for Operating after Suspension.

Shoplifting: 3/7 at 1:05 PM- Harvard St.

A TJ Maxx employee reported a shoplifting. The employee stated that he observed an individual conceal items in her handbag. The subject was placed under arrest for shoplifting. 

Sector 2

Assault/Shoplifting: 3/4 at 5:26 PM- Beacon St.

A Trader Joe’s employee reported a shoplifting. The employee stated that an individual was observed placing items into a personal bag. When confronted, the individual shoved an employee and fled the store. Officers were able to locate an individual who matched the description in the area. After a brief foot chase, officers were able to stop the subject. A query revealed that the subject had an active arrest warrant. Employees positively identified this individual as the person who was in the store. The subject was placed under arrest for Shoplifting, Assault and Battery, Resisting Arrest, and Disorderly Conduct.

Sector 4

Not Duly Licensed: 3/6 at 6:53 PM- Harvard St. / School St.

An officer observed a vehicle traveling without an inspection sticker. The officer initiated a traffic stop at the intersection of Harvard St. and School St. A query revealed that the driver did not have a valid license. The driver was placed under arrest for Unlicensed Operation.

Sector 8

Operating after Suspension: 3/4 at 10:24 PM- Boylston St.

An officer observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Boylston St. A query revealed that the driver had a suspended license. The driver was placed under arrest for Operating after Suspension as well as Possession of Class B.

Police Reports 3/3-3/4

Larceny: 3/4 between 11:45 AM and 12:45 PM- Commonwealth Ave.

Officers responded to a gym on Commonwealth Ave. for a larceny report. The victim stated that clothing, keys, cash, and credit cards were stolen from his unlocked locker.

Sector 2

Larceny: Between 2/28 and 3/4- Harvard St.

An individual reported a larceny from an office on Harvard St. The individual stated that an employee locked the office on 2/28 around 5:30 PM. When he returned on 3/4 at 7:00 AM he discovered that a camera and an iPod were missing. There were no signs of forced entry.

Sector 4

Larceny: Between 3/1 and 3/4- Washington St.

An individual reported a larceny from his vehicle. The victim stated that he parked his vehicle on Washington St. on 3/1, and when he returned on 3/4 he discovered that his laptop had been removed from the back seat. There were no signs of forced entry.

Police Reports 3/1-3/3

Sector 1

Arrest: 3/2 at 8:43 PM- St. Paul St. / Freeman St.

An officer observed a vehicle fail to stop for pedestrians in a crosswalk at the intersection of St. Paul St. and Freeman St. The officer then initiated a traffic stop. A query revealed that the driver did not have a license and that he had a warrant out of Malden District Court. The driver was placed under arrest for Unlicensed Operation and the warrant.

Sector 2

Minor in Possession: 3/2 at 10:46 PM- Longwood Ave. / Harvard St.

An officer observed a vehicle fail to stop for pedestrians in a marked crosswalk on Harvard St. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Longwood Ave. A query revealed that the driver had a suspended license. The driver was then placed under arrest for Operating after Suspension. During a search of the vehicle officers recovered several bottles of alcohol. The driver and three passengers were placed under arrest for Minor in Possession of Alcohol.

Sector 5

Arrest: 3/1 at 6:11 PM- Boylston St.

An officer responded to a gas station in the area of Boylston St. for the report of a dispute in progress. The officer located two individuals who were verbally arguing. A query of the individuals’ information revealed that one individual had a warrant for her arrest out of Boston. The individual was placed under arrest for the warrant.

Sector 7

Operating after Suspension: 3/1 at 6:40 PM- Boylston St.

An officer observed a vehicle traveling with a defective headlight. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Boylston St. A query revealed that the driver had a suspended license. The driver was placed under arrest for Operating after Suspension/

Police Reports 2/28-3/1

Sector 1

Shoplifting: 2/28 at 9:24 PM- Beacon St.

A CVS employee reported a shoplifting. The employee stated that he observed an individual place items in a bag and attempt to leave the store without paying. The individual was placed under arrest for Shoplifting.

Sector 3

OUIL: 3/1 at 4:02 AM- Winchester St.

Officers responded to Winchester St. for a single vehicle accident. Upon making contact with the driver of the vehicle, officers could detect an odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from his person. Based on the observations the driver was placed under arrest for Operating under the Influence of Liquor.
