2:21pm: Officers were dispatched to shoplifting in progress to a local business on Beacon St.  The Brookline dispatch was able to broadcast a description of the subject over radio, as well as describe the sunglasses he had stolen. Upon the officer’s arrival to the scene, the officers witness the walk inside another area store.  Once the subject saw the officers approach him, he abandoned the sunglasses as he had taken from the original store. The subject was immediately placed under arrest and transported back to the Brookline Police Department.

6:30pm: A Brookline resident approached the officer assigned to the front desk to report a past larceny. The victim reported attending the gym earlier in the day, and placed several items into a locker which was left unlocked. After completing his workout, the victim returned to his locker and discovered his money clip and electronic tablet missing.

10:41am: A Brookline resident approached the officer assigned to the front desk to report a past larceny. The victim reported back in May, she had contractors working on her apartment for a few weeks. Shortly, after the work was done the victim noticed a few of her paintings were missing.  A follow up by detective division was requested.

Subject leads officers on a foot chase / In custody

At approximately 3:15pm units were dispatched to the area of Sewall Ave for a report of a suspicious male riding a bike slowly and looking into vestibules. Units located a party matching the description and in an attempt to speak with him the party fled on the bike. The party then discarded the bike in the area of Stearns Road and St. Paul Street.  The subject fled on foot.  Units chased him through several yards in the area of Francis Street.  Officers were unable to locate him.

At approximately 4:47pm a resident of Sterns Road called and said someone was hiding under the bed in their home and had just fled the house. Officers started a foot chase that led through various neighborhoods in Brookline and into the Mission Hill area of Boston.
The party was apprehended in the area of 100 South Huntington Ave at approximately 5:21pm with assistance from other departments.

The subject is a 27yr old male from East Boston.
He faces the following charges:
B&E intent Felony
Receiving Stolen Property $250
Larceny Over $250
Resisting Arrest
Disorderly Person

He will be arraigned in Brookline District Court on Tuesday.

1:20am:  A Brookline resident approached and officer assigned to the front desk of the Public Safety building to report his stolen motorcycle.  The victim stated on 8/18/2016, he had parked his vehicle on St. Mary’s Street at approximately 7:00pm.  The next morning, he discovered the motorcycle was missing. A check of the area for surveillance cameras yielded negative results.

8:20am: While on patrol, an officer was dispatched to Boylston St. for a report of a breaking and entering into a motor vehicle.  The victim stated he had parked his in front of his residence the night on 8/19/2016. The next morning, he discovered the contents of the vehicle had been rummaged through and tossed around the car. The victim discovered his GPS and MP3 player was missing from the victim.

2:00pm: While on patrol, an officer was dispatched to Boylston St. for a report of a breaking and entering of a motor vehicle. The victim stated on 8/19/2016, he had parked his car unlocked on Boylston Street overnight. The next morning, he discovered his vehicle had been rummaged through. The victim reported was missing a small sum of money and GPS.

5:14pm: While on patrol, an officer was dispatched to a gas station on Harvard St. for a report of a larceny. On scene, a gas station employee reported a vehicle fled without paying for gasoline. The employee was able to provide a full description of the subject and the vehicle.  A search of the area yielded negative results.

9:00pm: An officer was dispatched to Pond Ave for a report of a past residential breaking and entering.  On scene, the victim stated his family had left the apartment making sure to lock both doors as they left for the day. On their arrival home, the family observed the apartment door open and the several items missing from their house. The victims reported missing including a tablet, guitar, prescription medication, and several pieces of jewelry.  This matter is still under investigation.
