Police Reports 7/2-7/3

Warrant Arrest: 7/2 at 8:04 AM- Nightingale St., Boston

Officers responded to the area of Nightingale St. in Boston to serve an arrest warrant out of Brookline District Court. The subject also had warrants out of Waltham, Somerville, and Dedham District Courts. The subject was placed under arrest without incident.

Sector 1

NSTAR Scam: 7/2 at 5:05 PM- Thorndike St.

A Thorndike St. business was the target of a scam. The business received a fraudulent call from an individual claiming to be a representative of NSTAR. The individual stated that the business had an outstanding debt on their electricity bill and that their electricity would be shut off if they did not pay by a certain time with a prepaid card.

Motorcycle Theft: Between 6/30 and 7/1- St. Mary’s St.

An individual reported the theft of his motorcycle. The victim stated that he left his motorcycle on the sidewalk of St. Mary’s St. When he returned several days later he discovered that his motorcycle was missing.

Sector 3

Warrant Arrest: 7/2 at 10:37 AM- Orchard Rd.

Officers observed a female individual in the area of Orchard Rd. who was known to have a warrant out of Dorchester District Court. The subject briefly attempted to flee officers before being placed into custody. The subject was placed under arrest for the warrant and Resisting Arrest.

Sector 4

Operating after Suspension: 7/2 at 9:20 AM- Harvard St.

An officer observed a vehicle traveling without an inspection sticker. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Harvard St. A query revealed that the driver had a suspended license and he was placed under arrest for Operating after Suspension.

Sector 9

Larceny: 7/2 at 11:05 AM- Newton St. / Grove St.

An individual reported a larceny from his vehicle. The victim stated that from a distance he observed a male subject remove a leaf blower from the bed of his truck. The suspect then fled in an older model black pick-up truck. The suspect was described as a heavy set white male in his 30’s wearing dark clothing and gloves.

B&E MV: Between 7/1 and 7/2- South St.

An individual reported the breaking and entering of a motor vehicle. The victim stated that she parked her vehicle in the area of South St. at approximately 10:00 PM on 7/1. When she returned the next morning she discovered her handbag, iPad, and a gold bracelet were missing. The suspect also removed an unlocked bicycle from a bike rack attached to the vehicle.

Police Reports 7/1-7/2

NSTAR Scams: 7/1- Harvard St.

Two Harvard St. businesses were the targets of scams. In both cases the businesses received fraudulent calls from an individual claiming to be a representative of NSTAR. The individual stated that the business had an outstanding debt on their electricity bill and that their electricity would be shut off if they did not pay by a certain time with a prepaid card.

Sector 1

Shoplifting: 7/1 at 8:32 PM- Harvard St.

A Verizon Wireless employee reported a shoplifting. The employee stated that he discovered a pair of speakers missing from the store’s shelves. The individual stated that all employees were busy with customers at the probable time of the larceny and they did not observe anyone acting suspiciously.

Sector 2

Larceny: Between 6/28 and 6/30- Station St.

An individual reported the larceny of his laptop. The victim stated that his laptop was stolen from an office at his place of employment. The victim believes the larceny occurred during normal business hours, when the front and back doors were open to the public.

Sector 7

Malicious Damage: Between 6/29 and 6/30- Newton St.

An individual reported malicious damage to the front door of the Larz Anderson Aurto Museum. The individual stated that the glass door was intact when she locked up the previous night. However, she returned the next morning to find the door smashed by a rock. There was no entry made into the building.

Police Reports 6/27-7/1

Burglary Arrest: 6/30 at 4:15 AM- Powell St.

Officers responded to Powell St. for the report of a breaking and entering in progress. The victim observed a male subject in his residence, at which point he entered a bathroom and called the police. The suspect exited the front door and was confronted by officers, at which point the suspect turned around and re-entered the residence. Officers entered the residence and located the suspect hiding behind a couch. Officers were able to apprehend the suspect and he was placed under arrest for Unarmed Burglary and Larceny from a Building.

Sector 1

Bike Theft: Between 6/26 and 6/27- Freeman St.

An individual reported the larceny of a bicycle from his rear porch. The bicycle was left unlocked.

Bike Theft: Between 6/29 and 6/30- Stetson St.

An individual reported the theft of a bicycle. The victim stated that he locked together four bicycles and placed them in a garage. When he returned the next morning, he discovered that the lock had been defeated and one of the bicycles was missing. The garage door had been left open.

Larceny: 6/28 between 2:13 and 2:52 PM- Commonwealth Ave.

An individual reported a larceny from his gym locker. The victim stated that he placed his belongings in a locker at a gym on Commonwealth Ave. When the victim returned, he discovered that the padlock was no longer fastened and approximately $460 was missing from his wallet.

Sector 4

OUIL: 6/28 at 11:48 PM- Washington St. / Thayer St.

Officers responded to to Washington Street at the intersection of Thayer Street for the report of a traffic crash. Officers located two vehicles that had been involved in a motor vehicle accident. Vehicle #1 was struck from behind by Vehicle #2 while it was yielding to pedestrians in a crosswalk. Upon speaking with the operator of Vehicle #2 officers could detect an odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from his person. Based on the observations the driver of Vehicle #2 was placed under arrest for Operating under the Influence of Liquor. There were no injuries as a result of the accident.

Bike Theft: 6/28 between 2:00 PM and 3:10 PM- Pond Ave.

An individual reported the larceny of a bicycle. The victim stated that someone entered his open garage and removed an unsecured bicycle.

Sector 7

Operating after Suspension: 6/28 at 12:21 AM- Lee St. / Dudley St.

An officer observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Lee St. at the intersection of Dudley St. A query revealed that the driver had a suspended license and he was placed under arrest for Operating after Suspension.

OUIL: 6/28 at 2:52 AM- Newton St. / Clyde St.

An officer observed an operator slumped over the steering wheel while at a red light. The officer approached the vehicle and awoke the driver. Upon reaching the vehicle the officer could detect an odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from the driver. Based on the observations the driver was placed under arrest for Operating under the Influence of Liquor and Operating after Suspension.

Sector 9

Operating after Suspension: 6/28 at 9:08 PM- Belmont Rd. / Heath St.

An officer observed a vehicle fail to stop for a red light. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Heath St at Belmont Rd. A query revealed that the driver had a suspended license and he was placed under arrest for Operating after Suspension.
