JANUARY 21, 2020

At 3:00PM, officers responded to the area of Emerson St and Davis Av for a report of vandalism to town property. The reporting party stated he observed the suspect place a sticker on a Town parking sign. The suspect was stopped inside Emerson Park where he admitted to placing stickers on a Town parking sign and trash can. The stickers were of the organization "Patriot Front". The suspect was arrested for vandalism.

An officer took a bicycle theft report from a residence on Beacon St. Between 9:30PM on January 17 and 8:00AM on January 21, the bicycle was unsecured to a bike rack inside the residence's garage. The garage door may have been open at the time of the theft due to trash pick up times.

JANUARY 20, 2020

At 1:40PM, officers responded to a business on Washington St for a shoplifting where the suspects were fleeing. Employees stated the suspects concealed multiple health and beauty products in a backpack before leaving the store without paying. Officers searched the area, but were unable to locate the suspects.

At 4:45PM, an officer responded to the area of Kent St and Aspinwall Av for a graffiti complaint. A mailbox, fire box and pole were spray painted during an unknown time frame.

An officer responded to a residence on Centre St to take a larceny report. Sometime between 11:00AM and 12:00PM, the victim left a large sum of cash in a locker at a swimming pool. The locker was secured, but upon returning to the locker the victim could not locate the cash.

At 10:45PM, officers responded to a restaurant on Harvard St for a customer disturbing. Employees stated the suspect was making rude and obscene comments towards other diners before leaving the restaurant. The suspect was stopped a short distance away. Officers learned the suspect had an active warrant for his arrest and subsequently attempted to place the suspect under arrest. During the process, the suspect resisted the officers. The suspect was eventually placed in handcuffs and charged with disturbing the peace and resisting arrest, in addition to the warrant.

JANUARY 16, 2020

An officer took a report for larceny from a mailbox. Sometime between December 15 and December 23, the victim placed a check in the mail but it was stolen and fraudulently cashed.

At 11:45AM, officers responded to a business on Harvard St for a shoplifting. The suspect was seen taking jackets off the sales rack and attempting to flee out the front door. The suspect was stopped by employees and subsequently arrested for shoplifting.

At 9:50AM, an officer was approached by an employee of a business on Harvard St regarding a shoplifter that just left the store. The suspect was stopped a short distance away and it was determined that he concealed multiple health/beauty products in a backpack. The suspect was summonsed for shoplifting.

An officer took a report for larceny from a motor vehicle. Sometime between 7:45AM and 12:00PM, a backpack with shoes and a laptop were stolen from the trunk of the vehicle.

An officer took a report for larceny under false pretenses. In December, the victim (a charitable organization) received an email from the suspect claiming to be in need of assistance. After discussion, the victim gave the suspect a check to cover the rent. It was later determined that the suspect is part of a scam targeting multiple organizations across multiple states. The case is under investigation.
