Police Reports 2/6/2014
On February 6, a man came into the Police Station to report a breaking and entering and larceny of a motor vehicle. The man stated that while his car was parked unlocked on Commonwealth Avenue, cash and a debit card were stolen. The matter is currently under investigation.
On February 6, a woman reported that she had been the victim of fraud. The woman stated that someone had hacked into her email account and sent a message to all of her contacts asking for money. The email said the woman was stuck out of town with no belongings and needed people to send Money-Grams.
On February 6, officers were dispatched to a store on Harvard St. for a shoplifter being held in the office. An employee stated that a man was seen taking items and attempting to leave without paying. The man was found to be in possession of hypodermic needles and glassine bags. The suspect was placed under arrest for shoplifting.

Police Reports 2/4/2014 through 2/5/2014
On February 4, officers observed a vehicle straddling the white lane line on Washington Street. The officers initiated a motor vehicle stop and upon approach to the vehicle could detect an odor of marijuana. The passenger was found to have marijuana as well as an electronic scale. The passenger was placed under arrest and charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, Class D and the driver was cited for failing to drive within a marked lane.
On February 4, an officer observed a vehicle travelling on Harvard St. make an unsafe lane change. The officer initiated a traffic stop and found the driver to be operating with an expired license. The driver was placed under arrest and cited for passing unsafely and operating with an expired license.
On February 4, officers were dispatched to a store on Beacon St. for a report of shoplifting. The store manager had observed a man place an item into a bag and leave without paying. Officers located the suspect in the rear parking lot and he will be summoned to Brookline District Court for shoplifting.
On February 4, detectives observed a vehicle park in a posted No Parking/Loading Zone on Beacon Street. After the parking infraction was observed, the detectives initiated a traffic stop. The passenger of the vehicle was not wearing a seatbelt and was shifting in her seat causing the detectives to have a B.O.P. and warrant check. The search showed that the woman had a default warrant and she was placed under arrest.
On February 5, an officer observed a vehicle speeding on Washington Street. The officer conducted a traffic stop and found the status of the operator’s license to be revoked/non-renewable. The driver was placed under arrest and cited for operating a motor vehicle with a revoked license and speeding.

On February 3, an officer observed a vehicle travelling on Boylston St. with its driver’s side headlight not illuminated. The officer initiated a traffic stop and the driver was placed under arrest and cited for not being duly licensed and defective equipment.
On February 3, an officer responded to a bank on Beacon St. for a report of someone attempting to pass a forged check. A teller reported that a woman tried to cash a check and when the teller said she would need to review it with the manager, the woman fled. Investigation showed that the check in question had not been issued yet. The woman was located at another bank and placed under arrest for forgery and uttering.

On January 31, officers were dispatched to a business on Harvard St. for a report of shoplifting. The manager reported that a woman entered the store and placed an item into her bag before leaving without paying. The matter is currently being investigated.
On February 1, an officer observed a vehicle stopped at the intersection of Washington and Boylston Streets with their parking lights on but headlights off. The vehicle began to inch into the intersection and the officer began to follow the vehicle once the light turned green. The vehicle failed to stay between the white lines separating lanes and the officer initiated a traffic stop. Upon approaching the vehicle, the officer noticed a smell of liquor and the driver’s eyes to be glassy and speech to be slurred. The driver was placed under arrest for operating under the influence of liquor, operating without headlights, and marked lanes violation.

The officer initiated a traffic stop and found the driver to be operating a vehicle with a revoked registration as well as having a revoked driver’s license. The driver was placed under arrest.

When she began to scream, the man hit the left side of her face. The man released the victim and fled on foot before getting into a vehicle and driving away. The matter is currently under investigation.
