Oct. 8th

Arrest

Occurred 2:43 AM (10/08) – Freeman St.

While investigating a report of a verbal dispute, police observed a male subject enter his vehicle and leave the vicinity from which the call was reported. Officers subsequently conducted a motor vehicle stop to inquire about the reported dispute. Upon identifying the subject, police discovered that he had a suspended Mass. driver’s license and an active arrest warrant. The subject was placed under arrest for the warrant and operating after suspension.

Fraud

Occurred 3:35 PM (10/08) – Naples Rd.

Police responded to a report of a fraud. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victim who stated that four unauthorized charges were made to her debit card account from another country. Police are following up on the case.

Larceny

Occurred 4:18 PM (10/08) – Singletree Rd.

Police responded to a report of a larceny from a local residence. The victim stated that when he returned to his property during the morning hours, he discovered his 6’ wooden fireplace mantelpiece missing. He informed officers that since there is work being done on his home the mantelpiece was moved outside. Police are following up on the case.

Breaking and Entering and Larceny of a Motor Vehicle

Occurred between 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM (10/08) – Gerry Rd.

Police responded to a report of a breaking and entering and larceny from a motor vehicle. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the reporting party who stated that his father’s vehicle had been broken into sometime while it was parked outside of their home. Officers inspected the victim’s vehicle and observed the driver’s side front window smashed. Items reported stolen include a Garmen GPS. A report was filed.

Oct. 7th

Larceny

Occurred between 6:15 PM and 6:27 PM (10/07) – Harvard St.

Police responded to a report of a larceny. The victim stated that while she was in a local store, she briefly left her bike unlocked by a parking meter. When she returned, she discovered her bike missing. Police subsequently conducted a local area search and located the victim’s bike around the corner. The bike was subsequently returned to its owner.

Occurred between 7:01 PM and 7:35 PM (10/07) – Verndale St.

Police responded to a report of a larceny of a bicycle. Officers met with the reporting party who stated he observed a black male subject take a bike off his neighbors’ front porch and flee. Officers subsequently conducted a search of the area but were unable to locate the suspect. Police notified the owner of the bike about the incident and are following up on the case.

Fraud

Occurred between 6:16 PM (10/04) and 6:16 PM (10/07) – Addington Rd.

Police responded to a report of a fraud. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victim who stated that the previous day she was contacted by her bank about possible fraudulent activity on her checking account. At this time, she discovered two checks had been made and cashed without her authorization. Police are following up on the case.

Burglary

Occurred between 6:30 PM (10/05) and 8:15 AM (10/07) – Heath Hill Rd.

Police responded to a report of a breaking and entering from a local residence. Officers met with the victim who stated that upon entering his property, he discovered a large amount of copper piping missing from his basement rafters and entry was gained. Police are following up on the case.

Oct. 6th

Larceny

Occurred between 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM (10/06) – Tappan St.

Police responded to a report of a larceny. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victim who stated that while she was working at the high school swimming pool, she put several personal belongings in an unlocked locker. When she returned, she discovered her IPod, cash, and academic calendar missing. Police are following up on the case.

Wednesday, October 6, 2010

Oct. 5th

Assault

Occurred 10:04 AM (10/05) – Lanark Rd.

Police responded to a report of a dispute between two male subjects. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the reporting party who stated that she observed two men arguing loudly in a parking lot and one male push the other. Officers then spoke with the parties involved who stated that they have been having ongoing problems with each other. One of the male subjects is being subsequently summonsed into Brookline District Court for assault and battery.

Graffiti

Occurred between (7/03) 10:00 AM and 10:00 AM (10/03) – Browne St.

Police responded to a report of a graffiti complaint. Officers met with the reporting party who stated that she observed graffiti on her residence building which she believes was done over the summer. A report was filed and police are following up on the case.

Tuesday, October 5, 2010

Oct. 2nd – Oct. 4th

Arrest

Occurred 3:34 AM (10/02) – University Rd.

Police responded to a report of a group of men fighting in the street. Upon arrival, officers located the parties involved and became concerned they were under the influence of alcohol. Police conducted a brief investigation and subsequently placed one subject under arrest who was under the age of 21 and in possession of alcohol. Police were also able to determine that the underage subjects had been served alcohol from a local bar and are requesting that the bar’s manager be summonsed into court for sale of alcohol to a minor.

Occurred between 6:26 PM and 8:00 PM (10/03) – Beacon St.

Police responded to a report of an attempted breaking and entering from a local store. Officers met with the reporting party, a store supervisor who stated that 10 minutes prior, the back room security alarm was set off. She informed police that surveillance footage caught a black male suspect entering the restricted room wearing a black backpack. A description of the suspect was immediately given out to nearby officers and he was subsequently located and placed under arrest for breaking and entering.

Occurred 12:40 AM (10/03) – Harvard St.

Police executed a traffic stop for a driving violation. Upon conducting a query of the driver’s information, police discovered that his right to operate a motor vehicle in Mass. had been revoked. Police subsequently placed the driver under arrest for driving after revocation.

Occurred 1:12 AM (10/04) – Harvard St. / Coolidge St.

While on patrol, police observed a motor vehicle being operated with a completely flat tire and executed a traffic stop. Upon questioning the driver, officers observed the subject to have slurred speech and an odor of alcohol coming from him. Based on officers’ observations of the driver’s intoxicated appearance, officers placed the operator under arrest. for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol.

Burglary

Occurred between 5:00 PM (10/02) and 5:30 AM (10/03) – Upland Rd.

Police responded to a report of a breaking and entering from a local residence. Officers met with the victim who stated that when he returned home, he discovered the back door to his home wide open. Upon inspection, the victim noticed cash, loose change, and a Sony camcorder missing from his study room. Police are following up on the case.

Larceny

Occurred 4:46 PM (10/03) – Beacon St.

While on patrol, police responded to a report of two male shoplifters fleeing from a local store. Upon arrival, police with the help of store employees were able to locate the suspects. Police spoke with a store employee who reported that she observed the suspects carrying bottles of liquor and wearing black backpacks in the store and shortly afterward she observed them with their backpacks off and the bottles no longer in their hands. The suspects were subsequently placed under arrest for shoplifting.

Sept. 28th – Sept. 29th

Arrest

Occurred 12:07 AM (9/29) – Boylston St. / Reservoir Rd.

Police observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed and executed a traffic stop. Upon identifying the driver, officers discovered that his right to operate a motor vehicle in Mass. had been suspended. Police subsequently placed the driver under arrest for operating after suspension.

Malicious Damage

Occurred between 2:20 PM and 6:00 PM (9/21) – Beverly Rd.

Police responded to a report of malicious damage to a motor vehicle. Police arrived on scene and observed a scrape along the passenger side of the victim’s vehicle. Upon investigation, officers discovered two other vehicles with similar damage. A report was filed and police are following up on the case.

Larceny

Occurred between 5:00 PM (9/17) and 8:00 PM (9/23) – South St.

Police responded to a report of a larceny of a bicycle. The victim stated that when she went to her garage, she discovered her bike missing. The bike is described as a silver 18 speed Merida touring bicycle. Police are following up on the case.

Occurred between 10:00 AM and 11:00 AM (9/28) – Beacon St.

Police responded to a report of a past larceny at a local store. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the reporting party, a store employee, who stated that earlier that day a cell phone was taken from the display area. The cell phone is described as a black Blackberry Torch. A report was filed.

Fraud

Occurred between 5:46 PM and 6:00 PM (9/28) – Cypress St.

Police responded to a report of a fraud. The victim stated that a couple of weeks prior, an unknown suspect withdrew a large sum of money from her bank account without her authorization. Police are following up on the case.

Burglary

Occurred between 2:30 PM and 3:15 PM (9/28) – Cedar Rd.

Police responded to a report of a possible burglary in progress. Upon arrival, officers observed a damaged rear kitchen exterior door which had been forced open. Officers conducted an interior inspection of the home and determined that access was not gained into the residence. The residence was cleared of any suspects and police filed a report.

Occurred 9:42 PM (9/28) – High St. Pl.

Police responded to a report of a break in. Officers met with the victim who stated that when she got home, she discovered both of her front doors open. Items reported stolen include earrings and a HP laptop computer. Police are following up on the case.

Sept. 30th – Oct. 1st Police Reports

Arrest

Occurred 10:43 AM (9/30) – Beacon St.

Police responded to a report of a shoplifter at a local store. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the reporting party, a store employee who stated that she observed a female subject exit the store with a clothing item without paying. The suspect was subsequently located by police and placed under arrest for shoplifting.

Occurred 9:53 AM (10/01) – Boylston St.

While monitoring traffic, police observed a motor vehicle travel through a red signal light and executed a traffic stop. Upon identifying the driver, officers discovered that he did not have a Mass. driver’s license. Police subsequently placed the driver under arrest for not being duly licensed in Mass.

Occurred between 1:45 AM (9/27) and 4:12 PM (10/01) – Fairbanks St.

Police responded to a report of an attempted robbery. Officers met with the victim who reported that a couple days prior while she was walking, a male subject approached her and chased her down several streets until she was able to get away from him. She described the subject as a white male in his 30s to 40s, approximately 5’7 with a slender build and balding hair. Police were able to locate the suspect and subsequently placed him under arrest for unarmed robbery.

Robbery

Occurred 2:16 PM (10/01) – Beacon Street

While on patrol, a Brookline Police officer observed a man running of a local bank which had just been robbed. The officer pursued the man and subsequently located him in a vehicle. The man was placed under arrest for robbery.

Breaking and Entering and Larceny of a Motor Vehicle

Occurred between 7:30 AM and 8:00 AM (9/30) – Pond Ave.

Police responded to a report of a breaking and entering and larceny from a motor vehicle. Officers met with the victim who stated that while her vehicle was parked across from her residence, it was damaged. She reported damage to her front passenger side window and personal belonging missing. Police are following up on the case.

Occurred 9:14 AM (9/30) – Regent Cr.

Police responded to a report of a breaking and entering and larceny from a motor vehicle. Upon arrival, officers observed a vehicle with a smashed driver’s side window and destroyed steering column. Police secured the vehicle and are following up on the case.

Larceny

Occurred 5:28 PM (9/30) – Harvard St.

Police responded to a report of a larceny. The victim stated that while she at a local restaurant, she noticed her wallet missing from her pocketbook. The wallet contained the victim’s credit cards, driver’s license, international ID, and other personal papers. Police are following up on the case.

Burglary

Occurred between 7:00 PM (9/29) and 12:00 PM (9/30) – Jamaica Rd.

Police responded to a report of a breaking and entering at a local residence. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the home owner who stated that when she went to check on her properties, she discovered a dining room window open in her first floor apartment. She informed police that no one is currently living in the apartment and that no items were taken. A report was filed.
