Wednesday, March 6th

7:05PM: Officers were dispatched to Beacon Street for the report of shoplifting. The manager of the business advised Brookline dispatchers that he was in pursuit of a suspect wearing a blue jacket and carrying an orange backpack. Police noticed an individual matching this description. Officers questioned the suspect who admitted he stole a bottle of alcohol. The suspect was arrested, and the merchandise was returned to the store.

2:10PM: Police were dispatched to Coolidge Corner for a report of shoplifting. Officers were met by the store manager who showed them surveillance footage of an unknown man stealing 30 deodorants. The suspect covered his face while entering and exiting the business. The subject is described as a light-skinned Hispanic or black male with a beard, wearing a black coat with white and gray stripes, and black pants. He fled towards the Centre Street parking lot and was not located by officers. Police are investigating.



Wednesday, March 6, 2019

Tuesday, March 5th

10:54AM: Police were dispatched to Amory Street for a report of a dog bite. The reporting party stated that on Monday, March 5th at approximately 2pm her dog was attacked by another dog. While sledding down a hill, a loose dog charged over and bit her dog. The reporting party took her dog to the vet where they discovered a puncture wound. The reporting party’s dog is not registered with the Town of Brookline, but is updated on their rabies vaccination. The other dog is not registered with the town nor updated on their rabies shot. Their owner was advised and given a citation for the incident.

3:23PM: Officers were dispatched to Cumberland Avenue for a past larceny. A couple has been renovating their home and recently went on vacation. When they arrived home on Sunday, March 3rd, they saw a large amount of water in the basement and noticed a pipe leaking. They called the contractor to assess the damages and upon arrival, he noticed numerous copper pipes missing from the basement. The copper was last seen on presidents day weekend. This case is under investigation.

Monday, March 4th

9:13AM: Police were dispatched to take a report of a past breaking and entering and larceny of a motor vehicle on Crowningshield Road. The reporting party stated that on Sunday morning at around 9:30am, she found the contents of her center console strewn about the seats and noticed her plastic bag with approximately $40.00 worth of quarters to be missing from the car. The reporting party believes that this incident occurred sometime between Saturday night and early Sunday morning. The doors on her vehicle were unlocked and she has no surveillance cameras. This case is being investigated.

9:32AM: Officers were dispatched to store on Commonwealth Avenue for a report of shoplifting. The lost prevention officer told police that the suspect had just left the store with video game accessories without paying. The lost prevention officer supplied police with a description and stated he boarded a Boston University bus. A short time later Officers located a person matching the suspect’s description on said bus. A police “show up identification” was conducted.  The suspect was placed under arrest and charged him with shoplifting and possession of control substances.

Saturday, March 2nd

9:10PM: Police were dispatched to upper Harvard Street for a report of a shoplifting. The reporting party, a loss prevention security officer, stated that between 8:45pm and 9pm he witnessed a female taking several items and leaving the store without paying. The reporting party attempted to stop the suspect but was unsuccessful. The suspect is described as a white female, brunette colored hair, in her late twenties, wearing a black jacket and gray sweatpants. Officers attempted to locate the subject with negative results. This case is under investigation.

Friday, March 1st

11:49AM: An anonymous person came to the Police station with found property. The reporting party told police that they found a wedding ring in a sealed window envelope outside of the Dunkin Donuts on Boylston Street. The ring has been placed into evidence for safe keeping.
