3:22 pm: Officers responded to a call for a shoplifter at a business on Commonwealth Avenue. Upon arrival, the suspect was still in the store and was identified to police by the store’s supervisor. At first, the subject denied shoplifting, but was then found to have unpaid merchandise on his person. This merchandise was returned to the store’s employee. The subject was also observed taking items and concealing them in his backpack and pockets on security footage. He was arrested and charged with shoplifting. The store employee stated he would prepare a CD of the surveillance footage for evidence.

3:45 pm: Officers were dispatched to Harvard Street for the report of a past larceny of a cell phone. The reporting party stated that he had been at an address on Washington Street. While he was working on his laptop, his phone was charging behind him out of his sight. He stated that between 3:30 and 3:40 pm that the phone was missing from the location. The case of the phone also contained credit and debit cards, a license, and other miscellaneous papers. The reporting party was advised to cancel the stolen cards, monitor his accounts for fraudulent activity, and remote swipe the stolen cell phone. It is unknown if the area is under security video surveillance.


8:06 pm: An officer was dispatched to an address on Francis Street for a past larceny of a wallet and cell phone. Two individuals had property stolen from them at a picnic /outing being hosted at the location. Both items had been placed on benches near basketball courts and when the respectful owners returned to their locations they were missing. The owner of the wallet was advised to cancel his missing credit cards and the owner of the phone was advised to remote wipe the data from the phone. Officers canvassed the area but were unable to locate the property.

5:02 pm: An individual reported graffiti on several buildings in the area of Andem Place and Washington St. He stated the graffiti began about 8 months ago and the latest occurred last week.

6-5-2017

On June 5th, 2017, Officers responded to an address on Village Way for a report of a missing child. After investigating the child was located with a family member and the report was cancelled.

6-06-2017

On 06/06/2017, the Brookline Police Warrant Unit as well as members of the States Fugitive Unit responded to an address on Foxcroft St in Lawrence to attempt to serve several warrants. The subject was located in his residence and was placed under arrest without incident.

On 6/5/2017, Officers received a call from a citizen who wanted to report being bitten by a dog in the Atherton Rd. area of Brookline.  Brookline Animal Control will be conducting an investigation.

On June 6, 2017 Officers responded to the lobby of the Police Station for a report of harassment. After an investigation one subject will be summonsed into Brookline Court for Annoying or Obscene Electronic Communication (269:14A).

On 6/6/2017, a citizen contacted the Brookline Police Animal Control Unit, to report a past dog bite incident. The incident was alleged to have occurred on 5/27/2017 on Babcock St. The report is being investigated.

On Tuesday 06-06-2017 Officers responded to an address on  Babcock St. to take a fraud report. The victim explained that their Bank account information had been compromised. A report was filed.

On 6-6-17 Officers took a report for a motor vehicle crash involving  a Brookline Park Department vehicle and a parked vehicle. Minor damage and no injuries reported.

On Tuesday 06-06-2017 Officers responded to an address on Thorndike St. to take a bicycle theft report. The victim had surveillance footage of the bicycle being stolen. The subject in the video is a male of unknown age wearing   a sweat suit with two vertical stripes down the legs.   The bicycle is described as being a neon green/yellow Specialized "Hardrock V”.

On Tuesday 06-06-2017 while directing pedestrian traffic on St. Paul St, Officers encountered a MV that was travelling at a high rate of speed. After stopping the vehicle the officer spoke with the driver and directed the driver to pull the vehicle to the side of the road. The driver agreed but then took off from the Officer passing several cars on the right by travelling northbound in the bike lane, then cutting left across traffic in an easterly direction down Stearns Rd. The Officer notified dispatch and surrounding units to be on the lookout for the vehicle.  The registration of the vehicle comes back to a rental company. A follow-up will be conducted in an attempt to locate the driver.

On Tuesday June 6, 2017 Officers responded to an address on Lancaster Terrace for a traffic crash. The driver reported that there was a tree branch in the roadway, and when she swerved to avoid driving over it she lost control of the vehicle and hit a parked car. No one was injured, the owner of the parked car was notified, and one vehicle was towed.

6/5/17

6/5/17 - An officer at the front desk was approached by a subject to report a theft of Brookline Youth Baseball League property. The reporting party stated 4 American Flag Buntings were stolen from a fence at Warren Baseball Field. The theft took place sometime between 6/3/17 at 1900hrs and 6/4/17 at 0930hrs.


6/5/17 – An officer responded to Beacon St for a two car accident. Upon arrival officers determined that no one was injured but, there was significant damage to both vehicles. The first vehicle was travelling on Beacon St. with the second vehicle not far behind. Vehicle 1 was stopped in traffic and vehicle 2 made contact with it. The operator of Vehicle 2 was issued a citation for following too closely.

6/2 to 6/4

6/2/17 – An officer responded to Hawes St for a Larceny report. The reporting party stated that a package was delivered to his residence on 5/31/17 at 1300hrs. Upon retrieving the package he noticed that the package had been opened and all items inside were taken.

6/2/17 – An officer responded to Clinton Rd. at Cotswold Rd. for a two car motor vehicle crash.  A vehicle was traveling on Clinton Rd when a second vehicle was making a left turn from Cotswold Rd crashed into vehicle it. Neither operator was injured in the crash. The operator of the second vehicle was cited for a stop sign violation.

6/2/17 – An officer responded to Hawes St on a Larceny report. The reporting party stated that two packages were supposed to be delivered on 5/31/17 at 1300hrs. An alert from the delivery service stated the packages were delivered however; the reporting party didn’t receive them. This is the second report of package larceny on this street.

6/2/17 – An officer at the front desk on a Larceny report. The reporting party stated that on 5/30/17 three sprinkler timers and four extension hoses were stolen from the condo building she works for.

6/2/17 – An officer at the front desk was approached for a report of a past motor vehicle accident involving a pedestrian. The reporting party stated on 6/1/17 between 1455 and 1500 hours he was attempting to cross the street at Vernon St. and Marion St. when he was struck by a vehicle. The driver stopped to see if he was alright and once confirmed, they both went on their way. Injuries from the accident resulted in the victim reporting the accident. The driver is described as a white female, approximately 60-65 years old, with a slender build and glasses and was last seen on Marion St.

6/2/17 – An officer responded to a store on Harvard Street for a past shoplifting. The reporting party stated that a woman came into the store at approximately 1650 hours and began looking through the clothing rack. The employee thought the customer was acting suspicious and checked the store security surveillance cameras and discovered she put several items into a shopping bag that she was carrying. The security video surveillance depicts the suspect as a black female in her 40's, heavy build, and approximately 5'07" to 5'10" tall, with shoulder length black curly hair. She was wearing a black and white tank top with a long black sweater and black pants.

6/3/2017 – An officer found a navy blue wallet in the Babcock St. Lot. The wallet contained credit cards, gift cards, a Charlie card, and some cash. Attempts to get contact information for the owner were made but were unsuccessful.

6/3/17 – An officer responded to Summit Avenue for a report of a package theft. The reporting party stated that he received E-mail confirmation that his package was delivered to his apartment building at 1546 hours. He arrived home at 1630 hours to find the package was ripped opened and the contents were missing.

6/4/17 – An officer responded to Westbourne Terrace for an unattended backpack at a school playground. The officer observed a grey backpack containing a red binder and several loose papers.


6/4/17 - An officer at the front desk was approached by a subject who came to return a cell phone they found outside the Beacon Athletic Club on Washington St. Attempts to find the owner were made but were unsuccessful.
