July 26th Police Reports

ARRESTS

  • Occurred at 11:16AM (7/26)- 76 Buckminster Road

Ioannis Triantafyllou was arrested and charged with, Failure to Display a front License Plate, Operating without a License, and Speeding.

Officers on detail noticed a suspicious dark van traveling at a higher rate of speed than the posted limit. This vehicle also lacked a front license plate. Upon stopping the vehicle it was learned that the driver Triantafyllou did not have a license to operate in Massachusetts. He was subsequently arrested.


Larceny

  • Occurred between 11:05AM (3/27) and 11:05AM (7/11)- 19 Harvard Street

Officers responded to a call of a past larceny. The victim explained that an unknown suspect stole $230 from an envelope in the manager’s office. The employees noticed the money missing when they did routine inventory checks of the cabinets.

  • Occurred between 11AM and 1PM (7/26)- 1 Brookline Place

A man who claimed to be from the maintenance department gained entry into the victim’s office and stole her wallet from her purse. There were $500 worth of fraudulent purchases charged to her bank card soon after it was stolen.

Stolen Bike

  • Occurred between 10PM (7/18) and 5PM (7/25)- 32 Harvard Avenue

Sometime over a week period the victim’s bike was stolen from her basement storage area. The bike was a green Crossroads Hybrid and was valued at around $200.There are no suspects at this time.

  • Occurred between 7:05PM and 7:20PM (7/26)- 155 Harvard Street

Employee at Stop and Shop noticed a man cutting a bicycle chain from the rack outside and then ride the bike away. The bikes owner described the bike as a blue Cannondale valued at $200

Fraud

  • Occurred between 4:30PM (6/24) and 4:30PM (7/09)-30 Gibbs Street

Victim reported he had just received a credit card bill for fraudulent charges totaling $1754.86. The man did not make these purchases and immediately cancelled his credit card.

July 25th Police Reports

ARREST

  • Occurred at 10:50AM (7/25) - 1317 Beacon Street

Ludmila Linnik was arrested and charged with shoplifting.

Management at Trader Joes noticed a woman place various items into her bag and attempt to exit the store without paying for them. They detained the woman later identified as Linnik and called police. Linnik was placed under arrest.

  • Occurred at 9:01PM (7/25)- 72 Verndale Street

Travis Reitana was arrested and charged with possession of a class D substance (Marijuana)

An officer on patrol noticed a man later identified as Reitana enter a residence through a screen window. When Reitana exited the residence the officer approached Reitana and asked him to explain his suspicious activity. A search of Reitana's backpack revealed a large amount of Marijuana. He was subsequently arrested.

Larceny

  • Occurred at 1:06AM (7/25) - 95 Westbourne terrace

Police responded to a call of a stolen bike. Resident reports he saw three youths walk into a parking garage and emerge with a bike. Sensing the suspiciousness of this activity the victim investigated and found a mountain bike valued at $200 missing.

  • Occurred between 7PM and 10:30PM (7/20) - 651 Washington Street

Victim said while she was changing to go to a party she placed her wedding ring in her office. She left the office without the ring remembering she had left it hours later. Her husband went to retrieve the ring and discovered it missing.

  • Occurred at 5:14PM (7/25) - 248 St. Paul Street

Victim reports that he put his musical instruments down for a moment on the side walk and when he turned around they were gone. The collective value of these items is approximatly$12,500

Malicious Damage

  • Occurred between 11:30AM and 12:45PM (7/25) - 86 Greenough Street

Police responded to the scene to find a car window smashed but no items missing from the vehicle. It was determined to be a malicious destruction of the vehicle.

  • Occurred between 11PM (7/24) and 2PM (7/25) - 33 Pond Avenue

Officers responded to the scene where the victim explained her car had been keyed overnight. There are no suspects at this time and the value of the damage is unknown.



Graffiti


Occurred between 12:10AM and 1:27PM (7/23)-Baker School

A group of delinquents severely vandalized the Baker School by spray painting graffiti over it. The damage is quite extensive and covers many different sections of the school. The spray painters tagged the building with drug and anti-police messages.



Occurred between 7:15PM and 10PM (7/25)- Baker School

After the DPW cleaned the tags at the Baker school from the night before, vandals struck again and tagged directly over the cover ups. The damage is again extensive and some of the destruction is directed specifically at police. It is quite clear these vandals have no respect for their community or themselves and anyone with any information about either of these instances is urged to call police at 617-730-2222




July 24th Police Reports

ARREST

  • Occurred at 2:20AM (7/24) - 526 Harvard Street

Rodolfo Roman was arrested and charged with operating while under the influence of alcohol, operating to endanger, operating without a license, and other traffic offenses.

Officer responded to a vehicle which appeared incapacitated and was on the sidewalk. When police arrived they learned the driver Rodolfo Roman had been unconscious and slumped over the driving wheel. After being removed from the vehicle in an effort to ensure his safety Roman awoke. After a short amount of time Roman was determined to have been operating while under the influence of alcohol, and was subsequently arrested. The officers while conducting a search, found an open empty bottle of tequila under the driver’s seat.

Fraud

  • Occurred between 11:31PM (7/18) and 8:43PM (7/19)-1661 Beacon Street

Victim reported that he received many fraudulent charges on his debit card. The man reported he has no idea how someone would have got that information.

Burglary

  • Occurred between 2:30PM and 3PM (7/24) - 310 Harvard Street

Victim went to workout at the gym when he left his wallet in his locker. The locker was unlocked and when the victim returned his wallet was gone. The wallet contained about $60 cash and other various cards.

Stolen Bikes

  • Occurred between 2:45PM (6/24) and 2:45PM (7/24) - 34 Harvard Avenue

Victim reports that while his bike was locked up in the basement storage his bike tires were stolen. The bike was also bent at the frame from the suspect trying to yank the bike from the pole where it was secured. The bike had last been seen in mid June and the costthis item is unknown.

  • Occurred between 10PM (7/23) and 6PM (7/24)- 87 Centre Street

Victim stated he last saw his bike on a bike rack with a secure wire lock attached to it. The bike and the lock were gone the next morning. The value of the bike is unknown.

Robbery

  • Occurred at 11:40PM (7/24)- 227 Mason Terrace

A Brookline High School student was the victim of an attempted robbery as he walked back to his home. An orange sports sedan pulled up to the victim and asked to use his cell phone. Without responding a white male who was in his 20’s with a blonde buzz hair cut exited the vehicle approaching the suspect and began giving him a number to dial. Sensing the suspiciousness of this activity the victim then proceeded to walk away. It was at that point he was repeatedly punched in the face by the white male in an attempt to steal the victim’s phone. The victim fell to the ground but did not relinquish control of the phone. The white suspect then got back into the car and drove away with the other four males occupying the vehicle. The victim had no prior relation with these individuals.

July 23rd Police Reports

ARREST

  • Occurred at 8:57AM (7/23)- 687 Washington Street

Damon Downing was arrested and charged with Operating with an Expired License, providing false information to a Police Officer, and a marked lanes violation.

Officer noticed a vehicle making a lane violation. Upon pulling the vehicle over the driver gave false names to police and it was later learned his real name was Damon Downing. Downing had an expired license, and was subsequently arrested.

  • Occurred between 4:45PM and 5:20PM (7/23)-Longwood Avenue/Harvard Street

Carlos Quinones was arrested and charged with Operating after Suspension, and taking an illegal left turn.

Police pulled a vehicle over after officers observed the driver take an illegal left turn. After violating the posted sign it was learned that the driver also had a suspended license. He was then arrested.

Breaking and Entering

  • Occurred between 1:30PM (7/21) and 10:20AM (7/22)- 67 Harvard Street

Sometime overnight the St. Mary’s school was broken into and $300 was taken from one of the offices. Victim reports that an envelope with $300 was taken from her locked file cabinet, the keys to which were in her unlocked desk drawer. The office was locked and the victim believes the suspect had the key to the office, as well as knew where to look for the envelope.

  • Occurred between 6Pm (7/16) and 11:19PM (7/23)- 27 Chestnut Street

Victim reports that someone had gained entry into his home without force sometime while he was on vacation. The suspect went to the son’s room and stole an Ipod and Ipod speakers from the residence. The value of these items is around $400

Threats

Occurred between 10:28AM and 11:50AM (7/23) - 205 Rawson Road

Victim reported that she and her roommate got into an argument where he claimed to have a gun. Further investigation by police yielded that witnesses heard nothing about a gun. Victim was advised of her right under the abuse statue and advised she was able to get a restraining order. Resolution as of this point leads towards the victim moving out.

Malicious Damage

  • Occurred between 8:30PM (7/21) and 7:30AM (7/22) - 210 Harvard Street

Victim at the United Parish Church reported that sometime over the weekend glass from one of the windows was broken. It is not clear how the window was shattered; the value of the window is around $300.

Larceny

  • Occurred between 4PM and 5PM (7/23)-2 Brookline Place

Victim reports that her bag was stolen in a one hour period from the second floor of her work place. The bag contained around $20 and several different bank cards.

  • Occurred between 6:50PM and 7:35PM (7/23)- 461 Washington Street


Victim reports her car window was smashed and her GPS navigation system missing.

July 22nd Police Reports

ARREST

  • Occurred at 3:02AM (7/22)- 1454 Beacon Street

Geoffrey Meyer was arrested and charged with Operating while Under the Influence of Liquor as well as several traffic offenses.

Officer reported to the scene of a traffic collision. Meyer reported while returning from Boston he had “clipped” one of the cars. Clearly under the influence Meyer was arrested.

  • Occurred at 7:36PM (7/22)- 497 Boylston Street

Ashley Cox was arrested and charged with Operating after Suspension, various traffic offenses, as well as failure to appear in relation to the warrant out for her.

While on patrol officers noticed a car traveling 40mph in a posted 30mph zone. In addition the vehicle was operating without side mirror, or a rearview mirror. Upon further investigation it was learned that Cox had a suspended license, as well as a warrant out for her arrest. She was subsequently arrested.

Larceny

  • Occurred at 9:30AM (7/22)- 900 Commonwealth Avenue

Officers received a call of a shoplifting at CVS. Surveillance footage showed a man stealing several items from the store after picking up his prescription at the pharmacy. Officers were able to positively identify the man and he will be summoned to court for Shoplifting.

  • Occurred at 2:22PM (7/22)- 1309 Beacon Street

Officers reported to Trader Joes where a customer claimed she had been the victim of a pick pocket. She explained that she was approached by two black males who while talking to her apparently stole her wallet from her purse. She did not notice the wallet missing until after the subjects were gone. The males were described as black skinned wearing casual clothing. One of the subjects was described as 6’ tall thin with his age being late 30’s to early 40’s, the other males height was described as being around 5’9.

  • Occurred between 12:30PM and 5:30PM (7/22)- 1351 Beacon Street

Police responded to a call of a stolen wallet. The employee at Pier One Imports explained that she had placed her wallet in an employee locker in an area secured from customers. The victim reported she did not think any of the other employees were responsible for the theft.

Breaking and Entering

  • Occurred between 12:30AM and 10AM (7/22)- 30 Cramond Road

Officer received a call of a breaking and entering of a motor vehicle. Victim reported sometime overnight his car window had been smashed and his radio had been stolen.

Assault

  • Occurred at 8:12PM (7/22)- 496 Washington Street

Police responded to the Vinfen-Brookline House for a report of an assault and battery. One of the patients had accused an employee of stealing something from him. When asked to return to his room the suspect grabbed the woman bent her pinky finger back breaking it and scratched her several times. Police detained the suspect and he will be summoned to court for Assault and Battery.

July 21st Police Reports

Burglary/Breaking and Entering

  • Occurred between 4:30PM and 11:40PM (7/21)-211 Fuller Street

Officers responded to a call of breaking and entering. Victim reported when she retuned home she noticed her front door ajar and her bedroom in disarray. Over $10,000 worth of different types of jewelry were stolen from her bedroom. It also appears that the suspect tried to climb through her bedroom window. Among the items stolen was a unique silver baby pin with the name “Andrew” engraved in it.

July 20th Police Reports

ARREST

  • Occurred at 7:43PM (7/20)-301 Harvard Street

Two juveniles were arrested and charged with Larceny, shoplifting and receiving stolen property.

Officers got a report of a recent larceny from the Sprint Store. When stopped one of the juveniles reported he had stolen several items from different stores that day. The items were all in the backpack he was carrying. The other juvenile was identified by store employees as the one who stole the phone. He as well as the other juvenile were both arrested and charged.

  • Occurred at 9:16PM (7/20) - Mountfort Street/ St Mary’s Street

Nikita Krisilnkov was arrested and charged with possession of a class D substance (marijuana).

Police noticed a suspicious vehicle in the area of 7-11. Upon stopping the vehicle the driver later identified as Krisilnkov told officers conflicting stories, a search of the vehicle yielded a bag of green leafy substance believed to be marijuana. Subject was subsequently arrested.

Driving with a Suspended License

  • Occurred at 2:19AM (7/20)- Parkway Road/Brookline Avenue

Officers noticed a vehicle without operational rear lights. After pulling the car over officers discovered that the driver’s license had been suspended. Driver will be summmoned to court for driving with a suspended license and operating without light tail lights.

Larceny

  • Occurred between 11:45PM and 12:55PM (7/20) - 131 Winchester Street

Victim reported when returning to his parked vehicle he noticed his driver’s window smashed. A GPS device was stolen from the vehicle along with a digital camera. The GPS was valued at $400, the camera at $300.

  • Occurred at 1:30PM (7/20)- 361 Washington Street

Victim reports while at the Brookline Public Library he removed his wallet and placed it next to his computer. Upon returning 5 minutes later the wallet was missing. The wallet contained around $25 as well as other bank items and ID cards.

  • Occurred at 6:37PM (7/20) - 243 Gerry Road

Victim reports that sometime overnight her front license plate was stolen from her driveway.

Malicious Damage

  • Occurred between 4:12PM (7/06) and 4:12PM (7/10) - 1559 Beacon Street

Officer got a report of a past damage to a house. Victim reports that sometime over a four day period his son’s window was broken by a softball sized rock.
