February 18th

Arrests

  • Occurred 10:55AM (2/18) – 350 Washington St.

Victim came into the Brookline Police Station to report a violation of a restraining order. The suspect was also present. The victim stated that while leaving the courthouse, the suspect began yelling at her and was well within the 50 yards distance away from the victim that had been ordered. Police arrested the suspect for the violation.

  • Occurred between 11:13AM and 11:45AM (2/18) – Longwood Ave./Sewall Ave.

Police executed a traffic stop for a driving violation. The driver stated that he had a driver’s license from Maryland but it was currently not with him. Upon a check of the driver’s information, it was found that he did not have a license in Maryland or in Massachusetts. The driver was subsequently placed under arrest for being not duly licensed.

  • Occurred 9:11PM (2/18) – Harvard St./Beacon St.

Police performed a traffic stop for a driving violation. The driver stated that his driver’s license had been suspended. There were also two passengers also located in the vehicle. The driver stated that he felt like he was going to get sick, so the officers asked all of the passengers to get out of the vehicle while they performed an inventory of the motor vehicle. Officers found multiple forms of heroin paraphernalia, many containing heroin residue, and heroin itself. The driver was arrested for operating after suspension and both passengers were arrested for possession of a Class A substance (heroin).

Graffiti

  • Occurred between 8:00PM (12/27/2009) and 10:19AM (2/18) – 12 Kilsyth Rd.

Victim reported that sometime between the above times and dates the side brick wall of his building was spray painted. The markings were made with metallic silver paint. Police are following up on the case.

Fraud

  • Occurred between 7:00AM (1/25) and 12:05PM (2/18) – Cypress St.

Victim reported to police that she had received a bad check. The victim had posted an advertisement on Craigslist to rent a bedroom out of an apartment. She received interest from a woman and was sent a check in the mail. After depositing the check, she attempted to withdraw funds. At this time she was notified that she had received a bad check. Police are following up on the case.

February 17th

Arrest

  • Occurred between 1:11AM and 1:30AM (2/17) – 850 Boylston St.

Police executed a traffic stop for a driving violation. Upon identifying the driver, it was found that he had a suspended driver’s license. The driver was arrested for operating a motor vehicle after suspension.

Graffiti

  • Occurred between 12:03PM (9/1/2009) and 12:03PM (10/31/2009) – 1653 Beacon St.

Police responded to a report of graffiti in the men’s bathroom of a local Starbucks. The graffiti was located in three different places inside the bathroom. A recent inspection prompted the restaurant representative to file a report. Police are following up on the case.

Fraud

  • Occurred 11:44AM (2/17) – Tappan St.

Victim reported to police that his mother fraudulently attained a credit card with his information. He discovered this after a collection agency called and stated he had an unpaid balance on his credit card. Police are following up on the case.

Larceny

  • Occurred 12:35PM (2/17) – 129 Fisher Ave.

Police responded to a reported larceny that had just taken place. The victim stated that he had made an agreement using the website craigslist to exchange iPhone cell phones with the suspect. Since the victim’s iPhone was newer, the suspect agreed to pay extra along with the swap. After the exchange, the suspect drove away without paying the extra money. The victim’s friend then contacted the suspect, stating he wanted to buy a different phone from him. When the suspect arrived, police identified him and had arrested him for larceny, attempted larceny, and operating after revocation.

February 16th

Arrest

  • Occurred 12:59AM (2/16) – Independence Dr.

Police executed a traffic stop for a broken headlight. While stopped, the driver and passenger began making furtive movements around the middle console of the vehicle, forcing officers to order both occupants out of the vehicle to perform a search for weapons. A vial of marijuana and a bag of pills were found during the search. The passenger was arrested for possession of a Class E substance and the driver was arrested for two default warrants.

Breaking and Entering and Larceny of a Motor Vehicle

  • Occurred between 4:45PM and 5:00PM (2/16) – 1195 Boylston St.

Police responded to a report of a breaking and entering of a motor vehicle. The victim stated that he parked the vehicle, went into a local supermarket, and drove home. By the time the victim reached his house he noticed his laptop computer was missing. Police are following up on the case.

February 12th-15th

Arrest

  • Occurred 7:50AM (2/12) – Woodland Rd./Heath St.

Police executed a traffic stop for a speeding violation. Upon identifying the driver, it was found that his Massachusetts driver’s license was suspended. As a result, the driver was arrested for operating a vehicle after suspension.

  • Occurred 10:10AM (2/12) – Goddard Ave./Avon St.

Police performed a traffic stop for a speeding violation. The driver stated that she did not have a Massachusetts driver’s license, only a Brazilian passport. After confirming this information, the driver was arrested for being not duly licensed.

  • Occurred 7:09PM (2/12) – 362 East St.

Brookline Police, with the assistance of Dedham Police, executed an arrest warrant for a probation violation in the town of Dedham. The suspect was arrested without incident and brought back to Brookline for processing.

  • Occurred 4:05AM (2/13) – 99 Harvard St.

Police performed a traffic stop for a driving violation. Upon identifying the driver it was found that he appeared to be intoxicated. The driver was subsequently arrested for operating under the influence of liquor.

  • Occurred 7:14PM (2/13) – Clyde St./Newton St.

Police executed a traffic stop for a driving violation. Both the operator and the passenger were deemed to be intoxicated. Officer’s placed the passenger into protective custody and, after a complete investigation, the operator was subsequently arrested for operating under the influence of liquor.

  • Occurred 9:12PM (2/14) – Beacon St./St. Paul St.

Police performed a traffic stop for a driving violation. Upon identifying the driver, it appeared that she was intoxicated. After an investigation, the driver was subsequently arrested.

Breaking and Entering and Larceny of a Motor Vehicle

  • Occurred between 7:30PM (2/11) and 7:43AM (2/12) – 48 Dwight St.

Police responded to a report of a breaking and entering of a motor vehicle. The victim stated that upon getting into his car in the morning, the front passenger side window was smashed. A GPS unit was missing. Police are following up on the case.

  • Occurred between 1:00PM and 4:00PM (2/12) – 65-67 Green St.

Police responded to a report of a breaking and entering. The front passenger side window was smashed and the vehicle’s center console and glove compartment were open. The victim stated that an Ipod Nano was missing. Police are following up on the case.

Larceny

  • Occurred 5:50PM (2/12) – Chestnut St.

Police responded to a report of larceny. The caller informed the police that her mother is prescribed medication and stated that she noticed that some of the medication was missing. The caller stated that her brother had admitted to taking the pills. Police subsequently questioned the brother and he was arrested for larceny.

  • Occurred between 8:00PM (2/12) and 11:26AM (2/14) – 50 Thornton Rd.

Police responded to a report of two motor vehicle vandalisms. Officers noticed that all four tires were missing off of both vehicles and cinderblocks were used to prop them off the ground. Police are following up on the case.

  • Occurred between 6:00PM and 9:00PM (2/14) – 1317 Beacon St.

Police responded to a report of a stolen passport. The victim stated that while in a local store, her passport was stolen out of her purse, which was located in the bottom of her backpack. She had left her backpack in the employee break room. Police are following up on the case.

  • Occurred between 2:16PM (2/15) – 294 Harvard St.

Police responded to a report of shoplifting in progress. The caller identified one male and one female suspect and stated that they were in process of fleeing the scene. Officers caught up to both suspects. Both suspects were arrested for shoplifting. While in the process of arrest and processing, the female suspect supplied officers with a false name. Once her real name was discovered, it was found that she had an additional warrant. She was subsequently also arrested for both the warrant and furnishing a false name after arrest.

  • Occurred between 4:15PM and 3:01AM (2/15) – 294 Harvard St.

While responding to a shoplifting incident, it was discovered that another shoplifting incident had occurred. The suspects were two middle aged female women with three kids. They were suspected for shoplifting a large amount of candy and were seen attempting to sell it later for “fundraising”. Police are following up on the case.

Malicious Damage

  • Occurred between 12:00PM (2/01) and 11:43AM (2/15) – 22 High St.

Police responded to a graffiti complaint. The caller pointed out the expansive amount of graffiti throughout the building. There was also a beam that appeared to have been kicked in and a lock on a stairwell had also been damaged. Police are following up on the case.
