Police Reports 3/1-3/2

Burglary: Occurred on 3/1 between 8:30 AM and 7:00 PM- Brook St.

A Brook St. resident reported a burglary. The victim stated that he left for work at 8:30 AM. When he returned at 7:00 PM, he noticed that a laptop computer was missing from the residence. There did not appear to be any signs of forced entry.

Arrest: Occurred on 3/1 at 2:45 PM- Harvard St./ School St.

An officer was stopped for a red light at the intersection of Harvard St. and School St. Before the light turned green, the officer was hit by another vehicle from behind. A query of the operator’s information revealed that his license was revoked. The driver was placed under arrest for Operating a MV after Revocation. There were no injuries in the accident.

Police Reports 2/29-3/1

Arrest: Occurred on 3/1 at 2:20 AM- Beacon St.

At 1:02 AM, a passerby reported that the front window of a Beacon St. business had been smashed. A search of the vicinity did not produce any potential suspects. It appeared unlikely that the suspect had gained access to the business, although several items were reported missing. Officers remained fixed in front of the store until a key holder could arrive to take control of the store.

While waiting for a key holder to respond, an officer observed a male reach in through the broken window. The officer observed the individual remove a necklace from a display and place it in his pocket. The subject was placed under arrest for Larceny from a Building. He was additionally charged with two counts of Possession of Class E Drug.

Shoplifting: Occurred on 2/29 at 1:45 PM- Commonwealth Ave.

A CVS employee reported a shoplifter. An employee stated that he observed an individual place several items into a plastic bag and attempt to exit the store. The subject was placed under arrest for shoplifting.

Larceny: Occurred on 2/29 between 1:00 and 9:50 AM- Chestnut St.

A Chestnut St. resident reported a larceny. The victim stated that the rear tire, rim, hubcap, and lug nuts were removed from his vehicle.

Police Reports 2/28-2/29

Traffic Stop: Occurred on 2/27 at 6:11 PM- Harvard St.

A vehicle was traveling on Harvard St. A query of the vehicle’s information revealed that the registration was suspended and non-renewable. The officer conducted a traffic stop on Harvard St. The status of the registration was confirmed and the vehicle was towed. The operator will be summonsed to Brookline District Court for Operating a Motor Vehicle after Suspension of Registration and Unregistered Motor Vehicle.

Traffic Stop: Occurred on 2/27 at 6:50 PM- Harvard St.

An SUV was traveling on Harvard St. with a headlight out. The officer conducted a traffic stop in the area of Harvard St. and Longwood Ave. A query of the operator revealed that her license was suspended. The operator will be summonsed to court for Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Suspended License.

Police Reports 2/27-2/28

B&E Motor Vehicle: Occurred on 2/26 between 10:30 PM and 8:30 AM- Carlton St.

An individual reported a breaking and entering of a motor vehicle. The victim stated that he parked his vehicle on Carlton St. at 10:30 PM on 2/26. When the victim returned to the vehicle at 8:30 AM on 2/27, he noticed the passenger side window was smashed and a GPS unit was missing from the vehicle.

Burglary: Occurred between 2/23 and 2/26- Heath St.

A resident of Pine Manor reported a burglary. The victim stated that when he returned to his room on 2/26, there were several valuables missing. The victim stated that he had locked the door prior to leaving, and there did not seem to be any signs of forcible entry.

Police Reports 2/24-2/27

B&E Motor Vehicle: Occurred on 2/26 at 6:50 PM- Parkway Rd.

A Parkway Rd. resident reported a breaking and entering of a motor vehicle. The witness stated that he heard glass break and looked out his window to see three people breaking into his vehicle. The witness described the suspects as young looking and that they fled away riding bicycles. A GPS unit was taken from the vehicle.

Arrest: Occurred on 2/26 at 4:24 PM- Boylston St.

A Mercury sedan was traveling on Boylston St. with an expired inspections sticker. The officer conducted a traffic stop at the corner of Boylston and Sumner St. A query of the operator revealed that his license was suspended. The driver was placed under arrest and was issued a citation for Operating after Suspension and Expired Inspection Sticker.

Arrest: Occurred on 2/26 at 1:50 AM- Washington St.

A vehicle was stopped at a red light. A query of the vehicle revealed that the registered owner had an active arrest warrant. The officers conducted a traffic stop on Washington St. It was confirmed that the operator was in fact the registered owner, and he was placed under arrest for the warrant issued out of Dedham District Court.

Arrest: Occurred on 2/25 at 8:16 PM- Beacon St.

A black BMW was traveling on Beacon St. A query of the vehicle’s information revealed that the registered owner had a suspended license. The officer conducted a traffic stop on Beacon St., and it was confirmed that the operator was in fact the registered owner. The driver was placed under arrest for Operating after Suspension.

Shoplifting: Occurred on 2/25 at 4:19- Harvard St.

An employee of a Harvard St. Stop & Shop reported a shoplifting incident. The employee stated that he observed a subject exit the store without paying for items that were in his carriage. After being confronted by employees, the subject fled from the store towards Auburn St. The employees were able to give a description of the subject, and a short time later an individual matching the description was stopped on Washington St. The employees were able to identify this individual as the shoplifter. The subject was placed under arrest for shoplifting.

B& E Arrest Made

On Friday Feb 24 at 5:24 PM officers were dispatched to the area of 108 Winthrop Road. A person was reporting a live breaking and entering of an apartment. Prior to the arrival of the officers, the subject fled the rear of the building. Shortly after that, less than a block away, officers stopped a subject fitting the description. A witness showed up and identified the subject as the one they saw breaking into an apartment at 108 Winthrop.
The subject was arrested. As the follow up investigation got under way, evidence was found to charge the subject with the following, two counts of breaking and entering and one count of attempted breaking and entering. All three apartments are in the same vicinity.
The subject was released on bail and is scheduled to be arraigned on Monday Feb 27 in the Brookline District court.
