December 18-21

December 18th at 10:40AM an officer was in the area of 264 Harvard Street. They stopped a vehicle for a red light violation. The operator was found to have an expired driver’s license. The operator was cited for both traffic infractions and the vehicle was turned over to a licensed driver.
December 18th A resident from High Street came to the station to report they had malicious damage done to their home. The stated on an earlier date, December 5th at 10:30PM they heard a noise and when they investigated they saw a BB hole in their front sliding door.
December 18th 6:51PM officers responded to a store in Coolidge Corner.  Staff reported a male and a female had been walking around the store for a while. When asked if they needed help one subject fled with a bag of children’s clothes. The second subject left shortly after. The staff later estimated the cost of the clothing was over $400.00
December 19th The Pierce school called to report a past graffiti incident. They had already cleaned up and made the proper notifications. This matter is under investigation.
December 19th 5:05 PM an officer was at the intersection of Cypress and Washington Streets. They observed a vehicle in front of them with an expired registration sticker. The vehicle was stopped and the investigation led to the car being towed. The operator was cited for a having an unregistered vehicle.
December 19th at 12:15 PM officers responded to Clearance and Coolidge Streets. A single car crash, the vehicle ran off the road into a tree and then struck a parked car. The operator was taken to a local hospital. The crash is under investigation.
December 20th 8:20AM officers took a report from a lower Beacon street resident. They indicated they had a package stolen from their front foyer. This matter is under investigation.
December 20th 11:15AM officers took a report from an Egmont Street resident. They indicated they had a package stolen from their front foyer. This matter is under investigation.
December 20th 1:10AM officers responded to a business on Beacon Street. The restaurant had a patron walk out without paying. This matter is under investigation.
December 21st 12:19 AM an officer took a fraud report. A resident from Green Street reported getting a call from 857-216-7233. The investigation led the victim to believe it to be a scam where the caller solicits personnel information. The matter is under investigation.

December 21st 6:00PM officers went to a residence on Davis Ave. The resident stated they had some damage done to a front window. The window by the front door had been broken. It is unknown if someone made an attempt to gain entry. This matter is under investigation.

Bitcoin Scam

Please be advised this is a SCAM! Residents in Brookline and surrounding areas have recieved scam letters demanding large sums of bitcoin or their "secrets" will be revealed. If you recieve one of these scam letters please report it to police immediately!

12/14/2017

An officer was dispatched to Marshall St for a report of a stolen package. The reporting party stated that they had located an open and empty package on the sidewalk. Officers reached out to the recipient of the package who confirmed it had been stolen.

An officer responded to Harvard St for a package theft. The reporting party stated that their package had been confirmed as delivered but when she went to retrieve it, the box was empty.

12/15/2017

An officer responded to Parkway Rd for a past larceny report. The reporting party stated that her package had been confirmed as delivered on 12/11 but she never received it.

Officers were dispatched to Beacon St for a report of a traffic crash involving a vehicle that had struck two parked cars. Dispatch alerted responding officers that the operator may be intoxicated and had fled the scene towards the Centre St lot. Officers located the male party on Babcock St. Officers observed that he had glassy and blood shot eyes and a strong odor of alcohol was emanating from him. The man was placed under arrest for Operating under the influence of alcohol and Leaving the scene—Property damage.

At approximately 11:35pm officers were dispatched to Walnut Hill Rd for a report of a burglary. The reporting parties stated that when they arrived home they found several items missing and the home ransacked. The incident is under investigation.

12/17/2017

An officer was dispatched to Village Way for a report of a package theft. The reporting party stated that when she went to retrieve her package from the lobby, the package had been ripped open and the contents were missing.

While conducting traffic enforcement near South St and West Roxbury Parkway, an officer observed a vehicle drive through a red light. The officer conducted a traffic stop and found that the driver had a suspended license. The driver was placed under arrest for Operating after Suspension and Failure to Stop—Red light.


An officer was dispatched to Fairmount Rd for a report of a burglary. The reporting party stated that he had been out of town from 12/14-12/17 and when he returned he found that several drawers had been gone through. The incident is being investigated.
