While on patrol at the intersection of Marion street and Beacon Street, Officers observed a grey sedan failing to maintain lane and then going down the wrong direction of travel down Marion Street. After seeing this, a BPD Officer initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle. After speaking to the driver police asked if the diver had anything to drink tonight to which they replied yes. Police then began field sobriety tests on the driver who failed all of the tests and was unsteady on his feet throughout the entire stop. Because of the failure to maintain lane, going down the wrong way on a road, and the failure of the sobriety tests the driver was placed under arrest and booked for DUI. When Officers attempted to cuff the suspect he began to resist and pull away from Officers attempting to cuff him. He was eventually cuffed after being taken to the ground and brought to the police station.
