Brookline Detectives Make Another Prostitution Arrest

For the past year, Brookline detectives have been working to identify suspects of drug dealing and prostitution using the internet site, ‘Craigslist.’ Disguised as buyers or sellers, detectives communicated with potential suspects. In the past week, five arrests have been made for those trading sex for drugs. Various drugs were discovered on suspects including heroin, cocaine, and marijuana.

12/12 - 12/13

Not Duly Licensed: 12/13/2013 at 12:51 a.m. – Boylston St./ Reservoir Rd.

 An officer observed a vehicle traveling at a higher rate of speed than the posted speed limit. The officer initiated a traffic stop at the intersection of Boylston St .and Reservoir Rd. A query of the driver’s information revealed he was not duly licensed. He was placed under arrest.

12/11 - 12/12

Operating After Revocation: 12/11/2013 at 11:02 p.m. – Harvard St.
An officer observed a vehicle operating with no inspection sticker. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Harvard St. A query of the driver’s information revealed his license had been revoked. He was placed under arrest for Operating After Revocation.

Sector 4
Not Duly Licensed: 12/11/2013 at 11:09 a.m. – Park St./ Auburn St.
An officer observed a vehicle make an illegal U-turn. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Park St. A query of the driver’s information revealed she was not duly licensed. She was placed under arrest.
Warrant Arrest: 12/11/2013 at 9:29 p.m. – Harvard St./ Webster St.
An officer observed a vehicle operating with an expired inspection sticker and no registration plate. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Harvard St. Upon speaking with the operator, the officer learned that the vehicle was not registered. A query of the driver’s information revealed he had two warrants out of Brockton and Quincy District Court. The operator was placed under arrest. A search of his person revealed a small amount of cocaine hidden in his shoe. He was additionally charged with Possession of a Class B Drug.

Sector 8
Robbery: 12/11/2013 at 11:32 a.m. – Boylston St.
Officers were dispatched to Boylston St. after receiving a report of robbery. Upon arrival, the officers were met by an employee who stated she was handed a note by the suspect informing her to place money into a bag. The suspect was described as an unshaven male in his mid-forties, wearing a black wig and a long trench coat.

Arrest made for Rape


Brookline Police have made an arrest of a subject for Aggravated Statutory Rape. MGL  chp. 265 sec 23A The subject is a 29 year old male from Brookline. The victim is a juvenile and no additional information will be released. The subject is scheduled to be arraigned today in Brookline District Court. This was a recent arrest and the investigation is on going.

12/9 - 12/10

Sector 1
Larceny: 12/07/2013 at 2:00 p.m. – Harvard St.
While working at the front desk, an officer received a report of a stolen wallet. The victim stated she was at a restaurant on Harvard St. when the wallet was taken from her purse without her knowledge. The victim became aware of the theft when she was alerted by her bank of unusual activity on her credit card. She was able to quickly cancel her cards.
    
Suspicious Activity: 12/09/2013 at 2:09 – Commonwealth Ave
An officer was dispatched to Commonwealth Ave to take a report of suspicious activity. Upon arrival, the officer was met by the victim who stated she had received a phone call from an unknown party who claimed to be holding her brother for ransom. The victim was immediately suspicious of the call and made contact with her brother. Once she confirmed her brother was safe, she notified Brookline officers. Please be advised, there have been many similar calls in Brookline over the past few months. If you receive a similar call, please notify the Brookline Police Department.

Sector 2
Malicious Damage: 12/08/2013 at 5:14 p.m. – Harvard St.
An officer was dispatched to Harvard St. to take a report of malicious damage to a motor vehicle. Upon arrival, the officer was met by the victim who stated he returned to his parked vehicle to find his rear windshield had been smashed. There were no items taken from the vehicle and the car was still locked when the victim returned.
Not Duly Licensed: 12/10/13 at 12:36 a.m. – Harvard St.
An officer observed a vehicle fail to stop for a traffic light. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Harvard St. A query of the driver’s information revealed he had a suspended license. An inspection of the vehicle revealed a small, plastic bag containing a green, leafy substance believed to be marijuana. The driver was placed under arrest for being Not Duly Licensed and issued a citation for Less Than 1 oz. of Marijuana.

Sector 5
Larceny: 12/09/2013 at 3:30 p.m. – Beacon St.
An officer was dispatched to Beacon St. to take a report of larceny. Upon arrival the officer was met by the victim who stated she briefly left her wallet unattended while she bagged groceries. When she went to retrieve her wallet she saw it had been taken.

Two Arrests Made in Narcotic Case

Two arrests were made this weekend for soliciting sex for narcotics. Detectives were able to make the arrests using Craigslist to contact potential suspects. The first arrest was made on December 6, 2013 for Possession of Cocaine. The second arrest was made December 7, 2013 for Possession of Class B and D Drug with Intent to Distribute

12/6 - 12/9

Sector 1
Burglary: 12/07/2013 at 1:45 a.m. – Euston St.
An officer was dispatched to a residence on Euston St. for a Breaking and Entering. Upon arrival the officer was met by the victim who stated she arrived home to discover her window open and several items missing from her apartment. Nothing else in the apartment appeared to be disturbed.
Burglary: 12/07/2013 at 6:41 a.m. – Mason St.
An officer was dispatched to a residence on Mason St. for a report of an Unwanted Person. Upon arrival the officer was met by the caller who stated she was awoken by someone ringing her doorbell at least 15 times. She did not answer the door, but was able to observe a man walk around the left side of the house to the rear of the building. She then saw the man attempt to gain entry to the house through a rear door. She yelled to the man that she would call the police if he didn’t leave. At this time the suspect fled and the victim contacted the Brookline Police. A search of the area yielded no results.
Larceny: 12/08/2013 at 3:28 p.m. – Commonwealth Ave
An officer was dispatched to a business on Commonwealth Ave for a shoplifting in progress. Upon arrival, the officer was met by the store manager who stated a male had just left the store with several coats without paying for them. The manager described the suspect as a large male wearing jeans and a black pea coat. Officers searched the area but yielded no results.

Sector 2
Larceny: 12/06/2013 at 10:50 a.m. – Beacon St.
An officer was dispatched to a business on Beacon St. to take a report of Larceny. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the store manager who was in pursuit of a suspected shoplifter. According to the manager a store employee observed the suspect place a bottle of alcohol in his backpack and then leave the store without paying. Officers were able to apprehend the suspect who then paid for the stolen merchandise.
Robbery: 12/08/2013 at 2:57 a.m. – Beacon St.
Several officers were dispatched to Beacon St. for a report of a disturbance between two males. As the officers approached the suspect turned and fled on foot. Officers were able to apprehend the suspect. The suspect stated that he believed his friend had stolen his cell phone, however the cell phone was found in the possession of the suspect. The other male stated the suspect became agitated when he could not find the cell phone and assaulted him while he was driving. The suspect was placed under arrest.

Larceny: 12/07/2013 at 10:34 a.m. – Beacon St.
An officer was dispatched to Beacon St. for a report of a stolen cell phone. The officer received a description of the suspect who was wearing a dark sweatshirt and tan baseball hat. A search of the area yielded no results. The officer was informed that the suspect entered the AT&T store where he immediately went to a display of phones and quickly took one and exited the store.
