11/21 - 11/22

Larceny: 11/20/2013 at 8:00 p.m. – Pearl St.
An officer was dispatched to Brookline High School in order to take a report of Larceny. Upon arrival, the officer was met by the victim who stated he remembers last seeing his cell phone the previous day while he was on Pearl St. The victim could provide no other information on where the cell phone might be. An attempt to track the phone using GPS proved unsuccessful because the phone had been shut off.

Sector 1

Operating After Suspension: 11/21/2013 at 6:34 a.m. – Harvard St.
An officer observed a vehicle missing its inspection sticker. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Harvard St. A query of the driver’s information revealed he had a suspended license. The driver was placed under arrest. An inventory search of the vehicle revealed a plastic bag containing a green, leafy substance believed to be marijuana. The driver was issued a Town By-Law Citation for Less than 1 Ounce of Marijuana.

Larceny: 11/19/2013 at 2:15 p.m. – Harvard St.
While working at the front desk, an officer received a report of Larceny. The victim stated while at a business on Harvard St. he set his sunglasses down and left them briefly unattended. When he returned minutes later, the sunglasses had been taken.


Sector 8

Burglary: 11/22/2013 at 12:10 a.m. – Heath St.
An officer was dispatched to Heath St. after receiving a report of Burglary. Upon arrival, the officer was met by the victim who stated she believes someone entered her room at some point during the day and stole her Kindle Fire. It appears nothing else was missing from the room.

11/20 - 11/21

Sector 2

Possession of Marijuana: 11/20/2013 at 2:22 p.m. – Kent St.
An officer observed a vehicle fail to yield to oncoming traffic when making a left turn. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Kent St. A query of the driver’s information revealed she had a suspended license and was placed under arrest. A routine search of her vehicle revealed a plastic bag containing a green, leafy substance believed to be marijuana. She was issue a Town By-Law Ticket for Possession of Less Than 1 Ounce of Marijuana.

Sector 3

Larceny: 11/20/2013 at 3:00 p.m. – Mason Tr.
While working at the front desk, an officer received a report of larceny. According to the victim, she received a phone call from an unknown party around 2:30 p.m. The caller stated that her father had been in a motor vehicle accident and was now being held for ransom. The victim was instructed to drive to her bank and forward $800.00 to the caller. Once the victim made the transfer, the caller advised her to call her father and hung up. The victim immediately made contact with her father, who was in good health, had been home all day, and had not been threatened in anyway. Due to similar incidents in the Brookline area, officers believe the incident was a scam and advise Brookline residents to contact the police immediately if they receive a similar phone call.

11/19 - 11/20

Sector 1

Larceny: 11/19/2013 at 2:00 p.m. – Pleasant St.
An officer was dispatched to a residence on Pleasant St. after receiving a report of a past larceny. Upon arrival, the officer was met by the victim who stated she had paid a down payment for an apartment she found on Craig’s List. Once the money was transferred, the victim was unable to contact the owner of the apartment. The matter is currently under investigation.

Sector 2

Malicious Damage: 11/19/2013 at 7:45 a.m. – Beacon St.
An officer was dispatched to Beacon St. after receiving a report of malicious damage to a motor vehicle. Upon arrival the officer was met by the victim, who stated her car had been keyed.

Sector 4

Possession of Marijuana: 11/18/2013 at 12:24 p.m. – Davis Ave/ Cypress St.
An officer observed a man acting suspiciously. The officer observed the suspect walk down an alleyway and sit down on a stair. The suspect was holding a cell phone box, which the officer asked the suspect if he could see. Inside the box, the officer discovered a plastic bag containing a green, leafy substance believed to be marijuana. The suspect was issued a town by-law citation for Possession of Less than 1 ounce of Marijuana.

Possession of a Non-Narcotic: 11/18/2013 at 12:41 p.m. – Boylston St.
Several officers observed a parked car with the driver still inside. The driver remained in the parked vehicle for an extended period of time. Furthermore, the officers observed an unknown male approach the vehicle and engage in a short exchange with the driver. Based on the totality of the circumstances, the officers were led to believe the driver of the parked vehicle was engaging in the sale of narcotics. The officers approached the vehicle and asked the driver if they could search the vehicle. During the search, the officers found a prescription bottle containing three different types of pills for which the driver did not have a prescription for. The driver was placed under arrest for Possession of a Class C Drug.

Malicious Damage: 11/18/2013 at 1:16 p.m. – Boylston St.
An officer was dispatched to Boylston St. after receiving a report of malicious damage to a motor vehicle. Upon arrival the officer was met by the victim who stated a tire on her vehicle had been slashed. There appeared to be no other damage.
