March 3rd- 4th

Arrests:

Occurred at 9:30 AM (3/3) – High Street/ Acron Road

Officers conducted a traffic stop for a red light violation. Upon investigation officers learned that the operator of the motor vehicle did not have a license and the registration for the vehicle. The operator was subsequently placed under arrests for failure to stop for a red light and operating without a license.

Occurred at 1:36 PM (3/3) – White Place

Officers received notice that a local resident had an active arrest warrant issued by the Brookline District Court. Officers responded to the residence of the subject and the subject was placed under arrest for a warrant with charges of Malicious Destruction of Property.

Occurred at 5:32 PM (3/3) – Cypress Street/ Elm Street
Officers conducted a traffic stop for a red light violation. Upon investigation officers learned that the operator did not have a license to operate in Massachusetts. The subject was subsequently placed under arrest for a red light violation and operating without a license.

Occurred at 10:04 PM (3/3) – South Huntington Avenue/ Heath Street

Officers pursued a traffic violation for a red light violation. The operator of the motor vehicle refused to stop when signaled by police. Due to the dangerousness of the conditions, the pursuit was terminated, officers later found the vehicle unoccupied in a nearby location. Upon investigation officers learned that the vehicle had been stolen from Manchester, NH on March 3, 2011. The vehicle was seized and fingerprinted and the investigation is ongoing.

Occurred between 10:25 PM (3/3) and 10:50 PM (3/3) – High Street
Officers received notification of an arrest warrant for a local resident. Officers were dispatched to the residence of the subject, and the subject was placed under arrest without incident for the previous charges of Operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, Uninsured motor vehicle.

Police Log: March 2nd- 3rd

Arrests:

Occurred between 2:04 PM (3/2) and 2:50 PM (3/2) – 100 Marion Street

Officers conducted a traffic stop for a MA Commercial registration violation. Upon investigation officers learned the operator did not have a valid Massachusetts driver’s license. The operator was subsequently placed under arrest for operating without a license and failure to display the company name.

Occurred at 7:09 PM (3/2) – Pearl Street/ Washington Street

Officers conducted a traffic stop for a license violation. Upon investigation officers learned that this was the subjects fourth offense of operating after suspension. The operator was subsequently placed under arrest.

Occurred at 9:08 PM (3/2) – Beacon Street

The Brookline Police Warrant Apprehension Team affected the arrest of a local wanted person. The subject was subsequently placed under arrest without incident.

Occurred between 10:43 PM (3/2) and 10:59 PM (3/2) – Boylston Street/ Holly Lane

Officers conducted a traffic stop for speeding. Upon investigations officers learned that the operator’s license was suspended. The subject was subsequently placed under arrests for speeding and operating after suspension.

Occurred at 1:04 AM (3/3) – Beacon Street/ Winchester Street

Officers conducted a traffic stop for a defected tail light. Upon investigation officers learned that the operators license was suspended. The subject was subsequently placed under arrests for a defective tail light and operating after suspension.

Operating after suspension:
Occurred at 7:53 AM (3/2) – Brookline Avenue/ Aspinwall Avenue

Officers conducted a traffic stop for speeding. Upon investigation officers learned that the operators license was suspended. The operator was summonsed to court for speeding and operating after suspension.

Larceny:
Occurred between 8:00 PM (2/17) and 8:00 AM (2/18) – Harvard Street/ Foster Street

A woman reported that she had locked her bike to a bus stop pole and when she returned the next morning her bike was missing. A report was filed.

Revoked Registration:
Occurred at 2:40 PM (3/2) – St. Paul Street

Officers conducted a traffic stop for an expired registration. Upon investigation officers learned that the operators license was suspended. The operator was issued citation for operating after suspension, revoked registration and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

Position: Park Police Interns

Start Date: May 23rd, 2011

Schedule: Nights and Weekends, till Labor Day

Qualifications: Preference to Town residents who have attained the age of 18 and are enrolled in college, with an interest in Criminal Justice or Public Service. Park Interns will ensure that park rules, regulations and Town by-laws are adhered to, within the recreational areas of the Town. They will work closely with the Police officers on the street as well as Park Rangers from the Park Department. Hours will be late afternoon and evening shifts. We are seeking highly motivated people who enjoy interacting with people from all walks of life. They should enjoy being outside getting exercise as they may be required to travel between several locations and interacting with people in the parks.

Arrests:
Occurred at 4:47 PM (3/1) – Harvard Street

Officers conducted a traffic stop and discovered the operator of the vehicle had an active warrant for his arrest. Officers confirmed the warrant and the operator was subsequently placed him under arrest.

Breaking and Entering and Larceny of Motor Vehicles:

Occurred between 9:00 AM (2/28) and 6:00 AM (3/1) – Clinton Road, Dean Road, Willard Road

Officers responded to a report of breaking and entering and larceny of a motor vehicle on Willard Road. Upon investigation officers learned that valuable items were taken from the unlocked vehicle.

Officer responded to a report of breaking and entering and larceny of a motor vehicle on Clinton Road. Upon investigation officers learned that valuable items were taken from the unlocked vehicle.

Officers responded to a report of breaking and entering and larceny of a motor vehicle on Dean Road. Upon investigation officers learned that a window of the vehicle had been smashed and valuable items were taken.

Brookline Police encourages the community to keep valuable items out of their vehicle and to make sure their vehicle is locked at all times.

Larceny:
Occurred between 4:00 PM (3/1) and 5:30 PM (3/1) – Russett Road

Officers responded to a report of larceny from a local yoga studio. Upon investigation officers learned that a wallet of the victim was stolen out of a cubby in the studio. No similar incidents have occurred.

February 28th- March 1st

Arrests:

Occurred at 8:33 AM (2/28) – Leicester Street

Officers responded to a call for breaking and entering of a local home. In the surrounding area of the home, officers noticed a subject that fit the description of the Breaking and Entering suspect. The subject’s identity was confirmed by the victim and he was arrested for Breaking and Entering in the daytime with intent to commit a felony and transported to Brookline Police Department.

Occurred at 7:01 PM (2/28) – Babcock Street

Officers were conducting routine surveillance of the area when they noticed a white Cadillac acting suspicious that was in an area that is well known for drug activity. Officers observed the vehicle come to a stop in a rear parking lot and watched as an outside member entered the vehicle and then left the vehicle within a short amount of time. The officers conducted field interviews on both the occupants within the vehicle and the outside party. In result, and based on the evidence found, all three subjects were placed under arrests for Possession Class B w/Intent to Distribute, and Conspiracy to Violate the Controlled Substance Act. The two occupants of the vehicle were additionally charged with a School Zone Violation.

Occurred at 7:01 PM (2/28) – Hammond Street/ Laurel Road

Officers conducted a traffic stop for failure to stop at a stop sign. Upon investigation officers learned that the operator did not have a Massachusetts license. The subject was subsequently placed under arrest for not being duly licensed and a stop sign violation.

Operating after Suspension:

Occurred at 7:02 PM (2/28) – Harvard Street/ Stedman Street

Officers conducted a traffic stop for an illegal U- turn. Upon investigation officers learned that the operators right to operate had been suspended. The subject was summonsed into Brookline District Court and issued citations for Illegal U-turn, expired inspection sticker, and operating after suspension.

February 24-28th

Arrests:

Occurred between 1:13 AM (2/19) and 7:13 AM (2/24) – Browne Street

Officers pursued a court issued arrest warrant for larceny, Larceny by Check and Forgery. In result the subject was placed under arrests without incident.

Occurred between 4:01 PM (2/24) and 4:40 PM (2/24) – Beacon Street

Officers were assigned to serve two default warrants. In result one subject was placed under arrest and transported to Brookline Police Station.

Occurred between 12:35 AM (2/27) and 1:00 AM (2/27) – Washington Street

Officers conducted a traffic stop for a defective tail light. Upon investigation officers learned that the operator had a straight warrant out for his arrest. In result the subject was placed under arrest and issued a citation for defective equipment.

Occurred between 4:25 PM (2/27) and 4:50 PM (2/27) – Dean Road

Officers conducted a traffic stop for violating a red light. Upon investigation officers learned that the operators license was suspended. The operator was subsequently placed under arrest.

Larceny:

Occurred between 12:05 PM (2/23) and 1:40 PM (2/23) – Washington Street

A report was made for larceny. The victim stated that money had been stolen from his wallet while at the athletic club. An employee from the athletic club claimed to know who the subject was. The incident will be followed up on.

Occurred between 9:10 PM (2/24) and 9:26 PM (2/24) – Cypress Street

Officers responded to a report of larceny. Upon investigation officers learned that the owner of a local repair shop had footage of two male subjects stealing scrap metal from a truck on his property. The case is under ongoing investigation.

Revoked Registration:

Occurred at 7:23 AM (2/25) – Harvard Street

Officers conducted a traffic stop for not having a front license plate. Upon investigation officers learned that the automobile registration was revoked and also uninsured. The vehicle was towed and the subject was issued MA uniform citations for operating with a revoked registration, operating and uninsured motor vehicle and failure to display a front license plate.

Occurred between 9:56 PM (2/26) and 10:30 PM (2/26) – Perkins Street/ Chestnut Street

Officers conducted a traffic stop for revoked registration. Upon investigation officers confirmed that the registration was revoked. The vehicle was towed and the operator was issued a citation for revoked insurance and revoked registration.

Breaking and Entering and Larceny of a Motor Vehicle:

Occurred between 4:05 PM (2/25) and 6:17 PM (2/27) – Pearl Street/ Brookline Avenue

Officers responded to two different calls of breaking and entering and larceny of motor vehicles within a two day period within the same area. Items were taken from both vehicles. It is important that surrounding residence and community members lock all of their doors of their vehicles in order to prevent these break ins. It is encouraged to report any similar activity within this area.
