Thursday, May 31st

5/31

1:10 PM - An officer responded to Kent Street to take a report of a past larceny Thursday afternoon. Upon arrival, the reporting parties stated that they had been doing laundry in their residence on the evening of 5/27 and returned the next morning to find various items missing from the dryer. Police are investigating.

May 29th through May 30th

5/29

8:30 AM – An officer was dispatched to Lee Street to take a burglary report Tuesday morning. Upon arrival, the officer met with the contractor who has been working on the burglarized residence that's under construction. He stated that his painters had left the home on Saturday to find that a Bluetooth speaker within the property was stolen upon returning Monday morning. He also observed muddy footprints and paint on the walls not done by the painters working on the property. This case is under investigation.

10:00 AM – An officer was dispatched to Blake Road to take a reported package theft. The officer spoke with the reporting party who stated that three of her packages delivered on Sunday were missing. This is an active case.


5/30

5:41 PM – An officer took a report for a package theft Wednesday afternoon at the front desk. The victim relayed that she had ordered items from EBAY that was confirmed delivered to her Harvard Street residence on Wednesday. When the victim went to retrieve the package from the common area of her apartment, it could not be located. Brookline PD is investigating.

May 23 through May 27


5/23/2018

On 5/23, an officer was dispatched to a residence on Beacon St. for a report of a past burglary. The reporting party stated that he left his apartment for approximately one hour that evening and when he returned, 2 laptops were missing. The incident is under investigation.

5/24/2018

On 5/24 officers were dispatched to Monmouth St. for a breaking and entering. The homeowner stated he had been upstairs when he heard a female voice and went to investigate. The man stated that he observed an unknown female in his kitchen and when he told her he was calling police, she left the residence. Officers located the female suspect and found that she had two active warrants in her name. The woman was placed under arrest and was also charged with Breaking and Entering in the Daytime with intent to commit a Felony.

In the evening an officer was dispatched to St. Paul St for a report of a stolen bicycle. The reporting party stated she had locked her Black Cannondale bike to a bike rack the night before and when she returned, the front tire and lock were still there but the rest of the bike was gone.

5/25/2018

Early on 5/25, officers were dispatched to Babcock St for a report of an apartment that had just been broken into. The reporting party stated she had awoken to the sound of her apartment door opening and when she went to investigate she observed an unknown male in her kitchen. Upon seeing her, the suspect fled. The reporting party stated that $20 was missing. Officers were unable to locate the suspect.

In the afternoon of May 25, officers were dispatched to Pond Av for a past breaking and entering. The reporting parties stated that they were out of town and when they returned home their belongings had been rifled through and several pieces of jewelry were missing. The incident is under investigation.

In the evening of May 25, an officer responded to a call for a bat in a residence on Washington St. The reporting party was able to capture the bat in a cardboard box. The officer assisted the reporting party in submitting the bat for testing.

5/26/2018

On May 26, officers were dispatched to St. Paul St for a report of a man pointing a gun at two people. On arrival, the reporting parties stated they were walking when a vehicle passed them traveling at a high rate of speed. The reporting parties then waved their arms at the vehicle in an attempt to have them slow down. At this time, the vehicle pulled over and the driver asked the reporting parties whether they were police before brandishing a firearm at them. The vehicle then pulled into a parking lot and a verbal argument ensued. On scene, the operator of the vehicle admitted to pointing a pellet gun at the two individuals who had attempted to get him to slow down. The operator turned over the pellet gun and was placed under arrest for Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon.

5/27/2018

On May 27, officers were dispatched to a store on Washington St for a report of a shoplifter. The reporting party stated that she had observed a male party enter the store and place several items into a shopping bag before leaving without paying. Officers located a man fitting the description and he admitted to taking the items. The man was placed under arrest for shoplifting.

5/28/2018

Early on May 28, officers were dispatched to a residence on Dwight St for a past breaking and entering. The reporting parties stated that they were gone over the weekend and returned to find all their closet and cabinet doors open with items rifled through. The reporting parties stated that a ring was missing. The incident is being investigated.

5/29/2018

On May 29, the Brookline Animal Control Line received a message about a dog being attacked by another dog on 5/19. The reporting party stated that he had been at Winthrop Park with his dog off leash when another off leash dog charged and attacked. The reporting party stated he exchanged information with the other owner. Both owners were issued citations for Dog at Large for having their dogs off leash in the park. The owner of the attacking dog is also being cited with Biting or Injuring another Domestic Animal.

The Brookline Animal Control also received a report of an incident occurring on May 25. The reporting party stated that he was raking grass at Warren Park when an off leash dog approached him and bit his calf. The reporting party stated that the dog continued to bark and lunge towards him as he used the rake as a shield. The reporting party had gotten the information of the owner of the dog. The owner is being cited for Dog at Large and Biting or Injuring a Person.
