Crime Report (6/8/07)

Arrest

Occurred at 7:26 pm (06/06/07)- 72 Cypress St

Steflen Michaliszyn of Medford was arrested for operating without a license. Michaliszyn received a citation for providing a false name to a police officer and traffic offenses.


Occurred at 10:00pm (06/07/07)- 4 Brookline Ave

Michael Neely of Roxbury was arrested for unarmed robbery. An employee of the Village Market stated that Neely and another male had entered the store. Neely stood in front of the counter and distracted the clerk with questions as the second male went behind the counter and took three packs of cigarettes. Neely and the other male then left the store. When speaking with Officers, it was found that Neely had a warrant for his arrest. Neely had attempted to use an ID with a different name and was also charged with giving a false name to a police officer. Officers were unable to locate the other male involved at this time.

Occurred at 1:16 am (06/08/07)- 665 Washington St

Lyndia Lewis of Roxbury was arrested for operating on a suspended license. Richard Jones was arrested for minor in possession of alcohol when a bottle of alcohol was found on his person.

Occurred at 8:43 am (06/08/07)- Independence Rd/ Russett Rd

Paulo Pereira of Framingham was arrested for not being duly licensed to operate a motor vehicle. It was also found that Pereira had a warrant.

Larceny

Occurred at 5:57pm (06/07/07)- Commonwealth Ave

Employees of CVS reported that a customer had attempted to purchase a disposable camera with a fake American Express gift check. When the clerk attempted to authorize the check, the customer walked out of the store with the camera and continued on Commonwealth Ave.

Crime Report (6/7/07)

Arrest

  • Occurred at 2:58am (06/07/07) 1010 Commonwealth Ave

Justin Goodwin of Revere was arrested for operating with a suspended license. Goodwin’s passenger, Corey Olenik was arrested for possession of marijuana.

Burglary

  • Occurred between 10:30pm (06/06/07) and 6:41am (06/07/07)- Harvard St

The front door of Madras Masala was found with a smashed window pane by a neighboring business. Officers found the door still locked upon arrival and rolls of coins on the floor. Officers entered the business, but did not find anyone in the store. The cash register was found open and empty along with several empty plastic lottery scratch ticket dispensers displaced from the wall. Officers were unable to make contact with the owners of the business at the time of the report, so it is unknown what was missing.

B&E&L of a Motor Vehicle

  • Between 5:00pm (05/29/07) and 12:00pm (05/30/07)- Newton Street

The victim stated that some time between the above times an i-Pod and a purse were stolen out of their unlocked motor vehicle. The purse was later found in a yard nearby.

Larceny

  • Between 12:00pm (06/05/07) and 5:06 pm (06/06/07) Commonwealth Ave

Employees of the Ski Market stated that two bicycles were stolen from the store.

  • Between 8:00am and 5:30pm (06/06/07) West Roxbury Pkwy

Victim stated that she received a watch for a present. The watch was left in a bookcase, when the victim returned home the watch was missing. Nothing else was missing from the house.

  • Between 8:00pm (06/06/07) and 3:30am (06/07/07)-St. Paul St/Parkman St

The victim stated that both xenon headlights from his vehicle had been removed. There was damaged to the fender from the removal of the headlights.

Scam Alert

  • Occurred 9:32 am (06/06/07) - Beacon Street

The victim stated that she received two separate phone calls from a male stating that he worked for Social Security and that tree hundred people were selected to receive $300. for six months because they paid their taxes on time. The victim stated that the caller asked her to verify her phone number, address and bank account information. The victim would not provider her bank information. The victim stated that the caller became rude and vulgar. The victim contacted Social Security after the two phone calls and was advised that the phone calls were not coming from their department.

Crime Report (6/6/07)

Arrest

  • Occurred at 4:37 am (06/06/07) Griggs Rd/Griggs Terr

Officers observed the vehicle in the area several times. When the registration was entered into the computer, it was found the pick up truck was stolen. Officers were able to stop the vehicle at Griggs Rd just at Griggs Terr. After removing the three from the vehicle, a search of the vehicle found a back pack and two purses. One purse contained a glassine baggy with what is believed to be cocaine. Officers also found a small digital scale with a white powdery residue and numerous power tools. During transport a suspect was found with two yellow pills clenched in his hands, and three more were found in the seat when he was removed.

The owner of the vehicle was contacted and arrived at the police station to identify items that belonged to him. The owner stated that his vehicle was stolen on 6/4 at a little peach in Everett with the keys in the ignition.

Arson

  • Occurred at 12:05 am (06/06/07)- Beacon St

Brookline Fire responded to the rear of the Citizens bank for a dumpster that had been set on fire.

Crime Report (6/5/07)

Arrest
  • Occurred at 11:20 a.m. (06/05/07)- Dudley St/ Warrant St

Neto Sinesio of Canton was placed under arrest for not being duly licensed to operate a motor vehicle. Siensio was issued a citation for speeding.


B&E&L of Motor Vehicle

· Between 4:55 p.m. and 910p.m. (06/04/07)- Brookline Ave/Aspinwall Ave

The rear vent window of the victim’s car was smashed, and the radio was taken out of the dashboard.

· Between 6:00 pm and 10:00 pm (06/04/07)- Brookline Ave/River Rd

Rear passenger window of the victim’s car was smashed. The victim’s radio was taken out of the dashboard, along with an amp that was attached to the and under the seat. The victim also stated that he had a back-up camera on his front dashboard that was stolen.

Larceny

· Between 10:00 pm (06/01/07) and 09:00 am (06/02/07)- University Rd

Victim stated that between the above dates the “Acura” emblem was stolen from the rear of his vehicle.

Graffiti

  • Occurred between 8:00 am and 4:25pm(6/4/07)- Highland Road

New tags of “BAM” and “Boston Artist Movement” were found on the equipment shed at Downes Field. Latex-gloves were found in the area; they were collected and placed into evidence. Photos were taken

Crime Report (6/4/07)


Arrests

  • Occurred at 3:00 a.m. (06/01/07)- Griggs Rd/ Washington St

Angela Aiello of Allston was placed under arrest for Operating after Suspension. Aiello also received a citation for speeding and defective equipment.

  • Occurred at 9:30 am (06/01/07)- Rockwood Street

Preslrey Witter of Dorchester was placed under arrest for a warrant.

  • Occurred at 10:47 am (06/01/07)- Beacon Street

Christopher Halfond of Providence, RI was placed under arrest after attempting to make a fraudulent transaction at the Bank of America. Halfond was also charged with attempt to commit a crime, false name violation, forgery, illegal possession of credit cards, larceny and uttering. Halfond also had four outstanding warrants

  • Occurred at 6:61 pm (06/01/07)- Kent St/ Linden St

Ronan Casey and Joshua Zunick, both of Brookline, were arrested and charged with minor in possession after being observed with cans of Bush Light as they were walking down Kent St. Casey and Zunick were in the company of a juvenile who was released to a parent.

  • Occurred at 2:51 pm (06/02/07) 1024 Beacon Street

Justin Turner of Boston was arrested for shoplifting after an employee of the Wine Press observed Turner placing items into his backpack. Turner also had a warrant.

  • Occurred at 6:44 pm (06/02/07)- Ewe Street

David Velez last known address out of Boston, was arrested for a warrant

  • Occurred at 9:04 pm (06/02/07)- Longwood Ave

Thomas Crowell of Lexington, NC was arrested for domestic assault and battery.

  • Occurred between 11:20 am and 11:43 am (06/03/07) Village Way

Wesley Beaumont of Brookline was placed under arrest for domestic assault and battery.

Larceny

  • Between 6:00 pm (05/22/07) and 6:00 pm (05/20/2007)- Beacon St/Englewood Ave

Town of Brookline Park and Conservation department reported that a total of twenty-four bushes were stolen from three different locations along Beacon Street.

  • Between 7:40 am (06/01/07) and 2:30 pm (0601/07)- Kennard Road

Between the above times, the victim stated that his bike was stolen from the front of the Lincoln School. The victim parked the boy’s bike in the bicycle rack, without a locking mechanism. When the victim returned the bicycle was missing.

  • Between 08:00 am (05/21/07) and 2:05 pm (05/21/07)- School St

Victim reported that his cell phone was stolen from his sons back pack at the Pierce School.

  • Between 6:00pm (06/01/07) and 7:00 am (06/02/07)- Beaconsfield Rd

Victim stated that between the above times her bicycle was stolen from her back backyard and a different bike was left in its place.

  • Occurred between 12:30pm and 9:15 pm (06/02/07)- Stanton Road

Victim stated that between the above times a stainless steel solar powered walkway light was stolen from their yard.

Malicious Damage

  • Occurred at 2:58 pm (06/01/07)- Leverett Street

The victim stated that she owns the property above, when she entered with a handyman to do repairs, it was found that there were pictures on the wall that had been tagged with spray paint. A set of stairs within the house were missing as well as damaged banisters and a chandelier. The victim also reported that the insulation on the pipes had been damaged along with some of the plaster and sheer rock within the house. Officers were unable to make contact with the tenants.

  • Between 9:00pm (06/02/07) and 5:00am (06/03/07)- Harvard St

Victim stated that he parked his car in his rented space overnight. When the victim returned to the vehicle in the morning he found the sun visor clams to be damaged along with his dome lamp and drivers side seat lever. Items were moved around the vehicle, but nothing appeared to be stolen.

B&E&L of Motor Vehicle

  • Between 5:00 pm (06/02/07) and 9:00 am (06/03/07)- Williams St

The victim stated that when she returned to her vehicle she noticed that from the center console, a life line road kit had been opened and a screwdriver was missing.


Bomb Threat

Occurred between 1:06 am and 2:00am (06/02/07) 1681 Beacon St (C#3183)

Boston Dispatch received a call from an anonymous call from a male caller on a pay-phone located at 2002 Beacon St (7-11 stores) stating that he had planted a bomb at 1681 Beacon St. Boston Police units were sent to the area. Brookline Police did not notice any suspicious packages upon arrival with Brookline Fire. Tenants in the building were evacuated. A search of the building, roof tops and the MBTA platforms showed no devices found.
