Police Reports 4/3/2014

On April 3, officers observed a vehicle straddle the two lanes of traffic on Washington St. while stopped at a red light. The officers initiated a traffic stop and found that the driver had a revoked license. The driver was placed under arrest.

On April 3, an officer was dispatched to Harvard St. and Marion St. for a report of the larceny of a moped that was parked on the sidewalk. The owner stated that he had left the moped parked overnight and when he returned in the morning, it was gone. The matter is under investigation.

On April 3, officers were dispatched to Clinton Rd. for a report of a vehicle that had hit a tree. Officers spoke to the driver who appeared unsteady on his feet, had slow slurred speech, and had an odor of alcohol emanating from him. The driver was placed under arrest for OUIL (2nd offense) and operating to endanger.

On April 3, an officer was dispatched to Freeman St. for a report of larceny. The victim stated that she had received a package that morning and had left it in the building vestibule. Upon her return in the evening, the woman found that her package had been opened and the contents were gone.

On April 3, an officer responded to Westbourne Terrace for a report of suspicious activity. The caller stated that there was a man in the building’s courtyard acting suspicious. Officers located the suspect inside one of the building’s storage rooms in the basement. The man was placed under arrest for breaking and entering at night with the intent to commit a misdemeanor and trespassing.

Police Reports 4/2/2014

On April 2, an officer observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed on Boylston Street. The officer initiated a traffic stop and found that the driver had a suspended license. The driver was placed under arrest and cited for operating after suspension and speeding.

On April 2, an officer was dispatched to Beacon St. for a past larceny report. The victim stated that when he arrived at the lobby of his building he found that the package he had been waiting for was open and the contents were gone. While there, the officer discovered that there was another package in the lobby that had been opened and the contents removed. The officer spoke to the owner of that package as well. The matter is under investigation.

On April 2, an officer responded to Harvard St. for a report of fraud. The victim stated that he was notified by the IRS that his Federal Tax Return had been rejected. After contacting them, the victim learned that someone had used his information to file a tax return. The matter is under investigation.

On April 2, officers responded to Beacon St. for a shoplifter who was being detained in a store. An employee stated that he had observed the suspect take multiple items and place them into his bag before exiting the store. The suspect was placed under arrest for shoplifting.

On April 2, officers traveling on Washington St. saw a pedestrian begin to enter the roadway in a poorly lit area. As the officers approached, the subject, who had his hood up and was hard to see, stuck his tongue out and entered the lane of travel. The officers avoided the subject and saw that he had stumbled into the opposite lane. The officers spoke to the man and discovered that he had an active warrant in effect. The man was placed under arrest.

On March 31, a man came into the Police Station to report that he had been the victim of fraud. The man stated he received a letter from the IRS which stated they had received a form he had not filed. The matter is under investigation.

On March 31, an officer observed a vehicle turn right on red from Beacon Street to Washington Street. The officer initiated a traffic stop and found that the driver had a suspended license. The driver was placed under arrest and cited for failing to stop and operating after suspension.

Police Reports 3/28/2014 through 3/30/2014

On March 28, an officer was dispatched to Dwight St. for a report of past larcenies. The victim stated that she was expecting two packages and when she contacted the companies, she was informed that both packages had been delivered on March 20. The woman never received the packages and the matter is under investigation.

On March 28, an officer responded to Kent St. for a larceny report. The victim stated that a package had been delivered for him on March 26 but when he arrived at the building lobby, the package had been placed in the trash and the contents were gone. The man stated that he had the company send a replacement product which arrived earlier in the day, yet when he got to the lobby the package was once again in the trash and the contents were gone.

On March 29, an officer observed a vehicle enter Horace James Circle at a high rate of speed and exit onto Hammond Street. The officer conducted a traffic stop and detected an odor of liquor emanating from the driver. The driver was placed under arrest and cited for operating under the influence of liquor, operating to endanger, racing attempting to break a record, speeding, marked lanes violation, and open container in a motor vehicle.

On March 30, officers were dispatched to Winchester St. for a cab fare evasion. The driver stated that he had driven a female party to that location and she had exited the cab without paying. The officers went up the stairs to the building and were met by a witness who stated that he had heard banging and the sound of glass breaking and when he went to investigate he discovered a female in the foyer who was bleeding from her hand. Officers observed that the pane for the door was broken and there was glass and blood on the floor. Officers spoke with the female party and she will be summoned to court for malicious damage to the door. The cab driver declined to pursue the matter of the unpaid fare.

On March 30, as part of an ongoing Craigslist sting, a man was placed under arrest and charged with enticement of a child under the age of 16, annoying & accosting sexually, and dissemination of obscenity to minors.
