Following a dispatched description of a suspicious male
believed to have possibly been breaking into vehicles, an officer observed a
male fitting the description on Winthrop Road. The officer initiated contact
with the man. The man emptied his pockets and the officer observed several
items consistent with those left in vehicles. Another officer searched the area
and found multiple cars that were unlocked and possibly entered. One of the car
owners was able to confirm that items were missing from her vehicle. The
suspect was placed under arrest for Breaking and Entering a Motor Vehicle and
Receiving Stolen Property.
In August of 2016, the Brookline Police Department was
contacted by a Human Trafficking Unit Detective from the Boston Police
Department who stated there was reason to believe a house in Brookline was
being used for prostitution. Following an investigation by Brookline PD a
search warrant was executed for a residence on Dwight Street. On September 29,
a resident was arrested for Permitting Prostitution on the Premises and
Deriving Support from a Prostitute.
On September 29, an officer was dispatched to Harvard St.
for a report of larceny. The victim stated that she had locked her bike to a
bike rack while going inside a local business and when she came out her bike
was gone. The incident is under investigation.
An officer was dispatched to a residence on Cypress St. for
a report of larceny. The victim stated that a package, confirmed as delivered,
had been stolen from her porch. The matter is under investigation.
10/1/2016
On October 1, an officer was dispatched to Beacon St. for a
report of larceny. The victim stated that sometime between the evening of
September 30 and the afternoon of October 1, her wallet went missing from her
apartment. The incident is being investigated.
In the evening of October 1, an officer was dispatched to
Coolidge St. for a report of a stolen license plate. The matter is under
investigation.

On October 2, an officer responded to Beacon St. for a
report of larceny. The victim stated that sometime between the night of the 1st
and the morning of the 2nd, his phone went missing from his
apartment. The incident is under investigation.
In the afternoon, an officer was dispatched to Fairway Rd.
for a larceny report. The victim stated that cash was stolen from his residence
and he believed it was in relation to potential buyers visiting the property
for an open house on October 1st and 2nd. The matter is
under investigation.
