Wednesday, March 20th

8:21AM: A man called police to Linden Street because he found graffiti on the sidewalk outside of Saint Mary’s Church. The graffiti appeared to be from a stencil and said “stop abuse.” Police took photos. The graffiti was located in front of the main entrance so it was cleaned before service began. Police are investigating.

3:23PM: Police were dispatched to a business on Harvard Street for shoplifting. The loss prevention officer told police he noticed someone concealing items in the back of his wheel chair. A search of the chair found multiple stolen items. The suspect was arrested and booked for shoplifting.

3:55PM: Officers were dispatched to Beacon Street for shoplifting. The manager told police he noticed a man acting suspiciously. Upon closer noticed, the manager saw the man taking items from his shopping cart and placing them into his backpack. When the manager confronted the suspect, he left the shopping cart but took off with the backpack. The man is described as a black male wearing all black clothes with a black backpack. He was last seen on foot traveling towards Coolidge Corner School on Harvard Street. The suspect was not located.

Tuesday, March 19th

3:40PM: Police were dispatched to Mason Terrace for larceny from a mailbox. The reporting party stated he was expecting two rent checks, but when he went to the mailbox he could not locate them. He checked with his tenants, who confirmed they both delivered the checks earlier in the week. Police are investigating.

Monday, March 18th

8:38PM: Police were dispatched to Harvard Street for a past shoplifting. Officers met with the businesses’ loss prevention employee. He stated that at approximately 8:30pm he noticed a woman attempt to leave the store with two full bags of clothes she did not pay for. The employee confronted the woman, so she dropped the bags and fled the store in the direction of Coolidge Corner. The items were recovered. Police are investigating.

Sunday, March 17th

11:37AM: A woman found property in Skyline Park. The reporting party stated that while she was walking along the path she noticed something shiny and glimmering on the ground. She picked up a large diamond like gem. She gave it to police and it has been placed in an evidence locker for safe keeping.

12:52PM: A man came to the Police Station to report lost property. The reporting party stated that he left his black Swiss backpack at Pine Manor College gym on Sunday, March 10th. The man coaches basketball and at 6pm he left the gym, accidentally leaving his backpack with his Mac Book Pro and several personal papers there. When he returned at 9pm, the bag could not be located. Police are investigating.

3:09PM: Officers were dispatched to an apartment building on Fuller Street for package theft reports. Two separate packages were delivered to this address but the victim never received them. The first one was delivered on March 8th, but when the reporting party arrived home at 8pm, she could not locate it. The second package was delivered on March 16th. When the party arrived home on the morning of March 17th, the package was missing. The vestibule in the apartment building is unlocked.

Saturday, March 16th

11:27AM: Police were dispatched to Bellingham Road for a possible theft of a license plate. The reporting party told police that this morning he noticed his front license plate to be missing. Officers inspected the car and noticed small scratches which appear consistent with a minor motor vehicle accident. It is possible the license plate was torn from the vehicle as a result of the accident. The reporting party was unaware of any accident and could not determine the last time he saw the license plate. Police are investigating.

Friday, March 15th

7:03AM: Police were dispatched to an apartment building on Center Street for an assault and battery. The victim told police he was sitting in his chair in the hallway when a man, in a derogatory manner, asked him to move his feet. When the victim did not move his legs the suspect punched him in the face. Because of the intimidating nature of the crime, the suspect will be summoned to court for Assault and Battery.

4:21PM: Officers were dispatched to Beacon and Winthrop for a report of an assault with a knife. A man told police he was walking down Beacon Street when he passed a woman and noticed she was holding a knife. They exchanged words and the woman continued walking eastbound on Beacon Street. She was described as approximately 5’2” with “dirty blonde” hair, black pants, black hat, and a floral jacket. There was an additional assault that was possibly perpetrated by the same woman in a nearby coffee shop. The suspect was not located. This case is being investigated.

4:51PM: A knife was found in the bushes in front of a home on Washington Street. The knife is described as a 6.5 inch folding knife with a brown wooden-handle and the numbers “747” engraved on the handle. In regards to the above assault with a knife case, which happened approximately 30 minutes prior to this, the victim was brought in to attempt to identify the knife. The man told police the knife that was found was most likely not the knife involved in his assault. Police are investigating.

7:23PM: Police were dispatched to Greenough Street for a report of disturbance of peace. An anonymous party told police that they noticed a black male using a loud speaker to yell about racism in the town of Brookline. Upon arrival, Police did not observe anyone acting suspiciously. Officers observed a vehicle leave the area shortly after police arrived. This case is under investigation.
