Police Reports 7/17-7/18

Larceny under False Pretenses: 7/17

Two separate individuals reported that they were the victims of the same fraud. Both victims stated that they found an advertisement on Craigslist for a rental home in Rhode Island. After corresponding with the alleged owner via email and telephone, the victims sent money to his bank account. After becoming suspicious, the victims learned that the property does not exist.

Operating after Suspension: 7/18 at 3:08 AM- Harvard St. / Beacon St.

An officer observed a vehicle make an illegal left turn. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Beacon St. A query revealed that the driver had a suspended license and he was placed under arrest for Operating after Suspension.

Police Reports 7/16-7/17

Attempted Larceny Arrest: 7/16 at 3:15 PM- Brook St.

Officers observed a male subject abandon his bicycle and proceed to climb over a fence in the area of Aspinwall Ave. and Brook St. The officer then observed the subject climbing to gain access to a second floor rear porch of an apartment building. The individual was placed under arrest for Breaking and Entering in the Daytime, Receiving Stolen Property, and Trespassing.

Sector 1

Motorized Scooter Theft: Between 7/15 and 7/16- Dwight St.

An individual reported the theft of a motorized scooter. The victim stated that he parked his scooter on Dwight St. and left it overnight. When he returned the next morning he discovered that his scooter had been stolen.

Bike Theft: Between 7/12 and 7/16- Beacon St. / James St.

An individual reported the larceny of a bicycle. The victim stated that she locked her bicycle to a pole on 7/12. When she returned on 7/16 she discovered that her bicycle had been removed.

Operating after Suspension: 7/17 at 1:58 AM- Carlton St. / Mountfort St.

An officer observed an individual operating a moped without a helmet. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Mountfort St. at Carlton St. A query revealed that the driver had a suspended license and he was placed under arrest for Operating after Suspension.

Sector 9

Burglary: 7/16- Bellingham Rd.

An individual reported a residential breaking and entering. The victim stated that she returned home to discover that the back door had been forced open. The extent of what was taken is unknown at this time.

Sector 5

Operating after Suspension: 7/15 at 7:50 AM- Clinton Rd.

An officer observed a vehicle make an illegal left turn. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Clinton Rd. A query revealed that the driver had a suspended license and he was placed under arrest for Operating after Suspension.

Sector 8

Larceny: 7/12- Lee St.

A landscaper reported the larceny of a leaf blower. The victim stated that a company leaf blower was left unattended on a property for a short period of time. When he returned he discovered that the blower was missing.

Sector 1

Shoplifting: 7/11 at 3:39 PM- Harvard St.

A TJ Maxx employee reported a shoplifting. The employee stated that he observed a male subject placing items into a duffle bag. The subject was placed under arrest for Shoplifting.

Trespassing: 7/11 at 4:29 PM- Dummer St. / Amory St.

An officer observed an individual walking in the area of Egmont St. This individual was known to have a No Trespass Order issued for this particular area. The subject was placed under arrest for Trespassing.

Shoplifting: 7/11 at 6:20 PM- Harvard St.

A TJ Maxx employee reported a shoplifting. The employee stated that he observed a female subject place items into a plastic bag and then attempt to return those items at the customer service desk. The subject was placed under arrest for Shoplifting.

Bike Theft: 7/12 at 6:41 PM- Harvard St.

An individual reported the larceny of a bicycle. The victim stated that he locked his bicycle to a rack on Harvard St. at approximately 2:00 PM. When he returned several hours later he discovered that his bike was missing.

Not Duly Licensed: 7/12 at 9:11 PM- Pleasant St. / Commonwealth Ave.

An officer observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed. The officer initiated a traffic stop at the intersection of Pleasant St. and Commonwealth Ave. A query revealed that the driver did not have a valid license and he was placed under arrest for Not Duly Licensed.

Not Duly Licensed: 7/13 at 2:45 PM- Harvard St. / Babcock St.

An officer observed a vehicle make an illegal U-turn. The officer initiated a traffic stop at the intersection of Harvard St and Babcock St. A query revealed that the driver did not have a valid license and she was placed under arrest for Not Duly Licensed.

Sector 2

B&E MV: 7/11 between 3:00 and 5:00 PM- Brookline Ave.

An individual reported the breaking and entering of a motor vehicle. The victim stated that someone had entered his unlocked van and removed a laptop from the front seat.

B&E MV: Between 7/11 and 7/12- Brookline Ave.

An individual reported the breaking and entering of a motor vehicle. The victim stated that unknown suspect(s) had smashed a passenger side window and pried the hood of a vehicle open. It appeared that the suspect attempted to remove the vehicle’s headlights.

Shoplifting: 7/12 at 1:18 PM- Harvard St.

A Stop and Shop employee reported a shoplifting. The employee stated that he observed a male individual place items in a suitcase and leave the store without paying. Officers were able to locate an individual who matched the description in the area. The individual was positively identified and placed under arrest for Shoplifting and Carrying a Dangerous Weapon (Knife). The suspect was also placed under arrest for warrants out of Malden and West Roxbury District Court.

MV Theft: 7/13 at 5:30 PM- Aspinwall Ave.

An individual reported the theft of her motor vehicle. The victim stated that she parked her vehicle in the area of Aspinwall Ave. and entered her residence. The victim stated that when she went to leave her home a short time later she realized that she had left her keys in the front door lock. Both her keys and her vehicle were missing at that time.

Sector 4

Operating after Suspension: 7/12 at 4:04 PM- High St. / Oakland Rd.

A query revealed that the operator of a motor vehicle had a suspended license. The officer initiated a traffic stop at the corner of High St. and Oakland Road Ext. It was confirmed that the driver had a suspended license and he was placed under arrest for Operating after Suspension.

Warrant Arrest: 7/12 at 10:58 PM- Washington St.

Officers responded to the area of Washington St. for the report of an intoxicated person. Officers located an individual matching the description in the area. A query revealed the subject had a warrant out of Boston District Court. The subject was placed under arrest for the warrant.

OUIL: 7/13 at 12:04 AM- Harvard St. / Webster St.

An officer observed a vehicle fail to stop for a red light. The officer initiated a traffic stop at the corner of Harvard Street and Webster Street. Upon reaching the vehicle officers could detect an odor of an alcoholic beverage. Based on the observations the driver was placed under arrest for Operating under the Influence of Liquor.

Warrant Arrest: 7/13 at 1:36 AM- Beacon St.

An officer observed two individual riding bicycles on the sidewalk. The officer stopped the subjects on Beacon St. A query revealed that one of the individuals had a warrant out of Concord District Court.

Warrant Arrest: 7/14 at 2:36 AM- Washington St. / Juniper St.

A query of a vehicle’s information revealed that the registered owner had a warrant for his arrest. Officers initiated a traffic stop at the intersection of Washington St. and Juniper St. The driver was confirmed to have a warrant out of Boston District Court and he was placed under arrest.

Sector 6

B&E MV: Between 7/13 and 7/14- Ackers Ave.

An individual reported the breaking and entering of a motor vehicle. The victim stated that unknown suspect(s) had entered his vehicle and stolen a satellite radio.
