Thursday, June 14th

6/14

12:30 PM - Brookline PD responded to Harvard Street for a report of a recent shoplifting Thursday afternoon. The manager told officers that at approximately 12:20 PM, a man walked into the store, went over to a display table and placed 6 t-shirts into a plastic bag before leaving the store without paying for the merchandise. A search of the area yielded negative results.


6:20 PM - An officer was dispatched to Harvard Street Thursday evening for a bicycle theft report. The caller told the officer that she had rode home on her bike and locked it to a street sign pole just before 5:10 PM. She had come back out from her apartment at 5:50 PM and discovered that her bike was missing and that the cable lock that secured her bike was cut and lying on the ground. This incident is being investigated.

Wednesday, June 13th

8:52 AM - An officer responded to Spooner Road to take a report of a past Breaking and Entering of a Motor Vehicle. The victim stated that she had parked her car in her driveway the night prior at approximately 11:30 PM. When she returned to her vehicle Wednesday morning, she observed it rifled through with a few dollars in change missing. This incident is being investigated.

8:56 AM - An officer was dispatched to Mason Terrace for a report of a past Breaking and Entering of a Motor Vehicle that occurred on Tuesday. The victim told police that her car was broken into sometime between 6:00 PM Tuesday and 8:00 AM Wednesday morning. She also stated that about $50 dollars in cash and some loose change was stolen from her vehicle. This incident is being investigated.

5:35 PM - Brookline Police were dispatched to a shoplifting in progress call from a Harvard Street business on Wednesday evening. The sales supervisor and an off-duty employee relayed to officers that at approximately 4:45 PM, a male party walked into the store and began browsing around. He remained in the store until approximately 5:30 PM when the store's anti-theft detection system was activated. The male subject then ran out of the store and took off on a bicycle. The detection system notified store employees that a cell phone was stolen from the business. Police canvassed the area with negative results. This incident is being investigated.

Tuesday, June 12th

3:44 PM - An officer responded to the Cypress Street area for a report of malicious damage. The victim stated that his vehicle was spray painted sometime between June 5th and June 6th. A line of white spray paint was observed along the passenger's side of the vehicle. The officer noticed that the damage to the victim's car was consistent with the string of malicious damage reports taken last week. The officer took photos of the damaged vehicle.

Monday, June 11th

12:45 PM - An officer was dispatched to Boylston Street to take a report of a past Breaking and Entering and Larceny of a Motor Vehicle. Upon arrival, the officer met with the victim who stated she had parked in a lot behind a vacant building at approximately 11:00 AM. When she returned to her car at 12:40 PM, she discovered that the passenger side window was smashed and two bags, containing various items, had been stolen from the vehicle. This incident is being investigated.

June 8th through June 10th

10:42 AM - An officer was dispatched to Cabot Street for a malicious damage/graffiti report Friday morning. The reporting party stated that he had been doing contracting work at the Cabot Street residence and had left the property Thursday night at approximately 9:30 PM. When the contractor returned at approximately 6:30 AM Friday morning, he noticed that someone had spray painted the garage doors and tagged a piece of dry wall within the property. There was no other damage reported and nothing was stolen. This incident is being investigated.

10:37 AM - Saturday morning, a man came into the station to report a bicycle theft. He stated that between 5/21/2018 and 5/28/2018, his locked bike was taken from his home on Gerry Road. At this time, there are no suspects. This incident is being investigated.

11:41 AM - An officer was dispatched to a gym on Commonwealth Avenue for a larceny report. The victim stated that she had went to the gym on Friday, June 8th from approximately 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM. The victim placed her purse in an unsecured locker while she worked out. That Saturday morning, she had gone to use her credit card but was unable to find it. After checking online, she was able to see fraudulent transaction made on her card. The victim also told police that approximately $18.00 in cash was taken from her purse. A follow-up has been requested. This incident is being investigated.

6/10

8:50 AM - Sunday morning, police were dispatched to the area of Monmouth Street and Monmouth Court for a report of a package theft that had just occurred. The caller relayed to an officer that he had observed a female subject take a package off the steps of a residence on Monmouth Court. He then observed her walk away towards Carlton Path and open up the package. Brookline PD was able to contact the victim on Monmouth Court who stated that the package contained camera accessories. The caller was able to provide police with a description and the packaging left by the suspect was submitted into evidence. This incident is being investigated.
