September 11th 2008 Police Reports

Attempt Breaking and Entering MV

  • Occurred at 10:09AM (9/11) – Brookline Ave/ Riverway

Reporting party states that he noticed an individual attempting to open his car door. He then observed as the individual approached several other vehicles and attempted to open their doors. After he confronted the suspect, the suspect fled inside the Brigham Women's Hospital. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, wearing a white t-shirt, blue jeans and a black baseball hat. He was carrying a black backpack with the letters “U.S.A” written in white lettering.

Malicious Damage

  • Occurred between 11:30AM (9/11) and 1:17PM (9/11) – Monmouth St/ St Marys St

Town employees reported that they received a call about damaged points on the top of the iron clad fence surrounding the Town of Brookline’s Monmouth Park. They reported that the iron clad fence was missing approximately 24 points off of their posts. Each pointed piece is valued at $100.

Larceny

  • Occurred between 8:30AM (9/11) and 1:00PM (9/11) – 345 Harvard St

School teacher reports that he had left his cell phone on the outside pocket of his work bag which he left in his computer lab on his desk all day. After returning to retrieve his bag he observed that his cell phone was missing. The phone is described as a LG valued at approximately $150.

  • Occurred at 6:13PM (9/11) – 155 Harvard Street (Stop and Shop)

Police were dispatched to a report of a shoplifting in progress at a Stop and Shop. After stopping the suspect police recovered from his backpack several stolen food products totaling $15.98. He will be summoned to court for shoplifting.

Arrest

  • Occurred between 4:10AM (8/23) and 8:50PM (9/11) -227 Babcock St

Police were dispatched to a report of a restraining order violation. Police were notified that the caller has a restraining order against her boyfriend who has placed several calls and left several messages on her phone. Police located him and placed him under arrest.

September 10th Police Reports

Breaking and Entering of a MV

  • Occurred between 11:45PM (9/09) and 11:45AM (9/10) – 258 Cypress St

Victim reported that upon returning to her vehicle she observed that her passenger side door was open and that several items inside her car were missing. Missing items included a Tom Tom GPS unit, a brown Coach wallet containing various cards and personal identification papers, the title to her car, and $70 in cash.

  • Occurred between 6:00PM (9/10) and 8:30PM (9/10) – 68 Monmouth St

Victim states that upon returning to his vehicle he observed that his passenger side window had been broken and that his GPS unit and power cord were missing.

Found Property

  • Occurred at 9:26AM (9/10) – 333 Washington St

An employee for the park department found a girl’s bicycle that has been left in the bushes for three days. For retrieval please contact the Brookline Police Department.

September 9th 2008 Police Reports

Larceny

  • Occurred between 8:30PM (9/08) and 10:26AM (9/09) – 175 Freeman St

Victim reports that she had left her vehicle parked in her assigned spot and upon returning to it the following morning she observed that her vehicle’s rear license plate was missing. The two screws that held the license plate were found on the ground.

  • Occurred between 1:48PM (9/09) and 2:20PM (9/09) – 99 Harvard St

Officers on patrol stopped a suspect who matched the description of shoplifter who just fled a Walgreens. The suspect was identified by store officials and was placed under arrest for shoplifting. A search of the suspect revealed two stolen boxes of Tylenol medication and two boxes of Motrin.

  • Occurred between 2:30 (9/09) and 3:45 (9/09) – 22 Parkway Rd

Victim states that upon returning to her vehicle she observed that the passenger side window had been smashed and that several items were missing. A black bag was taken from the front seat of the vehicle that contained various medical documents, a checkbook, and a prescription pad.

  • Occurred between 7:00PM (9/06) and 1:00AM (9/07) – 15 Newton St

Victim reports that she was modeling for a charity event and had left her belongings in a room reserved for the models. After returning to retrieve her belongings she observed that several of her credit cards and cell phone was missing. Several other models also found credit cards and cash missing from their purses.

  • Occurred between 7:30PM (9/08) and 10:00AM (9/09) – 37 -39 Carlton St)

Victim reports that sometime overnight someone had stolen his license plate off his vehicle. He stated that all four bolts were removed from the plate.

Arrest

  • Occurred at 11:35AM (9/09) – 38 Juniper St

Police were dispatched to a report of a probation violation. After locating the individual he was placed under arrest as a fugitive from justice.

Disorderly Conduct

  • Occurred at 11:43PM (9/09) – 42 Verndale St

Victim reports that she was in her room when she observed a black male looking into her window holding a camera. She stated that the camera was a black digital camera with a silver face. The suspect is described as a black male wearing a light colored shirt and was seen running towards Kenwood St.

September 8, 2008 Police Reports

Attempted Motor Vehicle Theft

  • Occurred between 11:30PM (9/07) and 3:39AM (9/08) – 138 Winchester St

Victim states that he was visiting a friend and had parked his motorcycle directly across from the residence. Upon returning to his motorcycle he found that it was sitting on its side, resting on the sidewalk approximately ten feet from where he had originally parked it. The motorcycle sustained a cracked front windshield, a broken left side mirror and both turn signals were removed from their sockets.

Graffiti

  • Occurred between 9:00AM (9/05) and 9:00AM (9/08) – 205 Beverly Rd

Building officials reported that they found graffiti drawn on the rear of Baker School. An inappropriate image was drawn using green spray paint.

Breaking and Entering

  • Occurred between 7:30PM (9/07) and 8:30AM (9/08) – 10 Auburn Pl

Victim reported that sometime overnight all three of his vehicles were broken into. He stated that he had left the vehicles unlocked. His Garmin GPS system was taken from the center console of one of his vehicles. He stated that the glove compartments were opened in the other two vehicles but nothing appeared to be missing.

  • Occurred between 8:00AM (8/23) and 10:30PM (9/08) – 23 Williams St

Victim reported that upon returning to her vehicle she observed that the front passenger side window had been shattered. Victim stated that her Garmin GPS unit was missing.

  • Occurred at 10:59AM (9/08) – 28 Eliot St

Reporting party states that she observed a male individual acting suspicious in her neighbor’s driveway. She then observed as he entered her neighbor’s home through the rear door and then exit in less then a minute. After contacting her neighbor she found that cash, personal cards and papers were missing from her neighbor’s wallet. The male suspect is describe as being a white male in his late 30’s to early 40’s, 5’10 tall, slim build wearing light colored shorts. He has reddish tinted hair with a bald spot.

Larceny

  • Occurred between 9:00AM (9/08) and 9:20AM (9/08) – 108 University Rd

Victim states that she left her handbag hanging on her seat while she ordered food. Upon returning to her seat she observed that her handbag was missing. The handbag contained ten dollars and numerous cards.

September 5th – 7th 2008 Police Reports

Arrest

• Occurred between 10:03PM (9/07) and 10:10PM (9/07) – Babcock St

Officers on patrol observed a vehicle traveling recklessly at excessive speed. After activating their lights the vehicle continued refusing to stop. After a short pursuit officers were able to stop the vehicle and the driver was place under arrest and charged with driving to endanger, failure to stop for police, speeding, stop sign violation and driving over marked lanes.

• Occurred at 11:19PM (9/06) – Boylston St/ Cypress St

Officers on patrol stopped a vehicle after it fled the scene of a car accident. Further investigation revealed that the driver was operating the vehicle without a license. He was placed under arrest and charged with leaving the scene of a property damage accident, failure to stop for a red signal and for not being duly licensed.

• Occurred between 3:19AM (9/06) and 3:53(AM (9/06) – 774 Boylston St

An officer on patrol stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. Further investigation revealed that the driver was operating the vehicle under the influence of alcohol. He was placed under arrest.

• Occurred at 11:50AM (9/05) – Harvard St/ Beacon St

Officers on a patrol stopped a vehicle after its driver was acting suspicious. Further investigation revealed that the car was stolen and that he was driving with a suspended license. He was placed under arrest and charged with larceny of a motor vehicle and operating after suspension.

• Occurred between 12:15AM (9/05) and 12:22AM (9/05) – 209 Pleasant St

Officers on patrol stopped three individuals who matched the description of three suspects who were seen breaking into a vehicle. One of the suspects was positively identified as the individual who smashed the window and was arrested. The other two individuals will be summoned to court for receiving stolen property.

Larceny

• Occurred between 9:00AM (9/05) and 8:00PM (9/05) – 44 Washington St

Victim reports that she observed that $1300 in cash which she hid in a leather boot in her laundry room was missing. She noticed the money was missing after workers who were fixing her drain had left her home. Nothing else appeared to be missing.

• Occurred between 6:00PM (9/05) and 5:30PM (9/07) – 40 Prescott St

Victim reports that his bike which he had left in his basement was missing. The bike is described as an 18” silver Raleigh Venture 4.0. Victim’s Bell black helmet and Kryptolok lock were also missing. The total value for all is $450.94.

• Occurred between 7:30PM (9/06) and 11:30PM (9/06) – 1 Larz Anderson Auto Museum

Victim reports that she had placed her purse in a “green room” at the Larz Anderson Auto Museum where she was involved in a fashion show. After returning to retrieve it she observed that her purse had been rummaged through and that $100 in cash and her bank card had been missing.

• Occurred at 4:44PM (9/07) – 525 Harvard St

Police were dispatched to a report of a shoplifter being held at T.J Max. Upon arrival store employees reported that they recovered two shirts, three boxer shorts, one pair of blue jeans, and sunglasses from the suspect. Total value of the items was $73.93. Suspect was placed under arrest for shoplifting.

• Occurred at 11:55AM (9/07) – 1322 Beacon St

Officers on patrol stopped a suspect who matched the description of shoplifter who just fled a CVS. The suspect was identified by store officials and was placed under arrest for shoplifting. Store employees reports that he had tried to take 12 containers of liquid Advil valued at $4.99 each.

• Occurred between 11:45PM (8/14) and (9/06) – 69 Summit Ave

Victim reports that over the past three weeks different items have been stolen from her porch overnight. Items taken include a $40 hanging plant, two fairy dust swirls (glass ornaments) that hang from the porch, a granite pig shoe cleaner, and a reflective sentry owl that was taken from her pear tree.

• Occurred between 12:00AM (9/03) and 8:00PM (9/04) – 68 Boylston St

Victim reports that his bicycle was taken from his front porch. The bike is described as a “San Jose” model with a leopard skin print seat which is blue.

• Occurred between 8:00PM (9/05) and 9:30PM (9/05) – 99 Boylston St

Victim reports that she had locked her 21 speed Huffy Multi – Trak bike to a sign outside her house. She reports that someone had cut the cable lock and stole her bicycle. The bike has a blue and gray frame with L – shaped handlebars and a bell on the right side of the handlebars.

• Occurred between 9:45AM (9/05) and 10:30PM (9/05) – Washington St/ Beacon St

Victim reports that he had locked his motor scooter to a sign post on the sidewalk. Upon returning to his scooter he observed that it was missing. The scooter is described as a gray and black 2007 Kymco Agility 50 Scooter valued at $2,500.

Breaking and Entering MV

• Occurred between 4:30PM (9/05) and 8:45AM (9/06) - 5 Elm St

Victim reports that upon returning to his vehicle he observed that the glove compartment was open and that the console had been tampered with. The vehicle was left unlocked. He states that approximately three dollars in change were taken from the change holder. Nothing else appeared to be missing.

• Occurred between 9:00PM (9/05) and 7:15AM (9/06) – 5 Elm St

Victim reports that upon returning to his vehicle he observed that the glove compartment and the middle console were open and that all its contents were dispersed throughout the vehicle. Nothing appeared to be missing.

• Occurred between 8:00PM (9/05) and 8:00AM (9/06) – 55 White Pl

Victim reports that he had parked his vehicle in the front of his residence and when he returned he observed that both the glove compartment and center console were open. He found that his GPS, portable IPOD, cell phone adapter and handheld Sudoku game were all missing.

• Occurred between 8:00PM (9/05) and 8:00AM (9/06) – 61 White Pl

Victim reports that he had parked his vehicle in his driveway overnight and in the morning he found that the glove compartment was open and all of its contents were on the floor. There was $5.00 in change missing and a set of rosary beads were taken.

• Occurred between 11:59PM (9/05) and 2:30PM (9/06) – 57 Sherman Rd

Victim reports that sometime overnight her vehicle was broken into. She observed that her driver’s side window had been smashed and that her GPS unit was missing.
