12/13/2017

On December 13 at approximately 13:13hrs officers were dispatched to a residence on Gibbs St. for a report of a past breaking and entering. The reporting party stated that she and the other residents had left around 8:30hrs and locked the front the door. When she returned around 12:45hrs, the woman stated that the apartment door was unlocked and she noticed the bathroom and bedroom windows were open and one of the outside screens had been raised up. At the scene, officers found that the front door had been pried open with an instrument of some sort. Multiple items including laptops and jewelry were reported missing. The incident is under investigation.

At approximately 13:50hrs, officers were dispatched to a Harvard St. business for a report of shoplifting. Employees reported seeing a woman enter the store and fill a reusable shopping bag with numerous items before placing some directly in her purse. As the woman went to leave, the employees confronted her and she threw the bag of merchandise at them and fled. Officers located a woman matching the description and the employee was able to verify her identity. The woman was placed under arrest for Shoplifting Subsequent Offense.

On December 13, a man came into the police station to report a package theft. The man stated that his package was confirmed as delivered at 13:09hrs yet it was not there at 17:00hrs.

An officer was dispatched to Alton Pl for a report of a package theft. The reporting party stated that a package had been confirmed as delivered to her the day before yet she never received it.


At approximately 23:00hrs an officer was dispatched to Pond Ave. for a report of malicious damage to a motor vehicle. The reporting party stated that she had parked her car around 16:00hrs and when she returned at 22:40hrs, her front passenger window had been smashed and a rock was found inside. The reporting party stated that nothing was missing.

12/11/2017

On December 11 at approximately 12:44hrs officers were dispatched for a an incident of shoplifting that had just occurred on Commonwealth Ave. The store manager stated that he had observed a woman come into the store and browse for almost two hours. The manager stated that the woman put on a shawl and attempted to leave the store without paying at which point he confronted her and she fled. Officers located a woman matching the description and the store manager was able to confirm her identity. The woman is being summoned to court for Shoplifting under $50.

12/12/2017

On December 12, officers responded to a residence on Prince St for a past breaking and entering report. The resident stated they had left the apartment at 745hrs in the morning and returned at 1315hrs finding the backdoor ajar. The resident reported a laptop and jewelry missing. The incident is under investigation. Officers were later dispatched to another residence on Prince St. for another breaking and entering report. The resident stated she had been gone from 1000hrs to 1900hrs and when she returned, her top lock was damaged and the apartment was in disarray. Nothing was reported missing at the time.

At approximately 1455hrs officers were dispatched to Brook St. for a past breaking and entering report. The reporting party stated that she had left her apartment at 1100hrs and returned at 1450hrs and found the apartment in disarray. The woman reported several items missing. Officers located a possible marking from a pry tool on the inside foyer door. The incident is under investigation. At approximately 2330hrs, officers responded to another residence on Brook St for a breaking and entering report. The resident stated she had been gone from approximately 1000hrs on 12/8 until 2030hrs 12/12. Several items including jewelry and a computer monitor were reported stolen. Pry marks were located on the buildings outside door and foyer door.

Officers were dispatched to Washington St. for a past breaking and entering report. The residents stated that they had been gone from 0700hrs to 1815hrs and noticed the front door ajar when they returned. The back door was also found slightly open and the apartment front door had damage around the lock. Multiple items were reported missing. The incident is being investigated. Officers were later dispatched to another residence on Washington St. for a breaking and entering report. The residents stated that they had been gone from 0800-1915hrs and when they returned they found the back door to the balcony open. Multiple items were reported missing. There was no clear indication of the point of entry.

At approximately 1945hrs, officers responded to Harvard St for a report of a shoplifter. The employee stated she had seen an elderly female enter the store with multiple bags and try to leave with items concealed in them. The employee stated she confronted the woman and asked her to pay for the items at which point she set down the bags and left the store. Inside the bags, officers found several shoplifted items from the business as well as numerous items that did not come from that store, including other items with tags still on. The business was advised to contact police if the suspect enters the store again.


At approximately 2243hrs an officer was dispatched to Sewall Av for a report of package thefts. The reporting party stated that three packages had been confirmed as delivered that day yet when he went to retrieve them they were gone.

12/8/2017 through 12/10/2017

On 12-7-2017 a citizen arrived at the Brookline Police Station to report malicious damage to his vehicle. The victim reports parking  his vehicle on Harvard Ave, and when he returned to his vehicle he observed what appeared to be a milkshake spilled all over the hood of his vehicle. The victim does not have any problems with anyone in the neighborhood. 

On 12/08/2017, Officers responded to a motor vehicle crash at Boylston Street and Dunster Road. The driver reports he was traveling west on Boylston Street when he swerved and lost control of his vehicle crashing into the fence on the property of the Longwood Cricket Club. No injuries reported and the driver was cited for Marked Lane Violation.

On Friday, 12/08/17, a citizen entered the Brookline Police Station to report that a package delivered to him by Fed-Ex had been stolen from the foyer of his building located on Beacon Street. He was notified by Fed-Ex that the package had been delivered and when he went to the foyer of his building to retrieve it, the package was no longer there. He stated that there are no security cameras in the foyer. A report has been filed.

On Friday, 12/08/17, a citizen entered the Brookline Police Station to report a package theft from the lobby of her building located on Sewall Ave. No security cameras available. A report has been filed.

On 12-08-2017 Officers responded to Boylston St at Warren St for a 3 car motor vehicle crash with no reported injuries. All 3 drivers denied having injuries and declined medical attention. 1 vehicle was towed from the scene.

On 12/8/17 Officers responded to a business on Beacon St. for a shoplifting in progress.  Brookline Police Dispatch informed officers that employees were following the alleged shoplifter on Harvard St. (northbound) on foot when the subject took a right onto Green St.  The subject was described as a male, thin build, wearing a black hat, black leather jacket, jeans and carrying a brown Trader Joes shopping bag.  While responding to Green St., Brookline Control informed officers that the unknown male party was on Green St. After an investigation it was learned that the subject had stolen 2 bottles of wine. The subject will be summoned into Brookline District Court for Shoplifting MGL Ch. 266/30A - first offense.  A Criminal Complaint application was filed.

On December 8th, 2017, Officers responded to an address on Washington St for a report of a package theft. The victim reports returning home to find their package had been opened and gone through. The contents of the package had been removed. A report was filed.

On 12-08-2017, Officers responded to an address on Winthrop Rd. for a past residential breaking and entering. It appeared that the bedrooms were the targets. A report was filed and a follow-up will be conducted by Brookline detectives.

On 12-08-2017 Officers responded to an address on Winthrop Rd. for a past breaking and entering. It is believed that the suspect removed the air conditioner from a rear window, which is located near the rear porch as a means to gain entry. The bedroom and closet were the targets of the suspect. Detectives arrived on scene to process for finger prints.

On 12/8/2017 Officers responded to the area of 1600 Beacon Street for a report of a traffic crash.  The driver reported when she attempted to brake for a pedestrian crossing the street, her vehicle was rear-ended. One party complained of neck pain but declined an ambulance. One operator was issued a Mass. Uniform Citation for Following Too Closely (TBL Art.7 sec.4)

On 12/09/17 Officers responded to an address on Beacon St. for a report of a missing person.  The missing person is described as a female, 72 y.o.a, 5'07", 130 lb., slender build, brownish grey hair, brown hair.  Unknown clothing description.   
A report has been filed.

On Saturday December 9, 2017 Officers were dispatched to Winchester St for a traffic crash with a vehicle into a pole. The road conditions on this date were snow and ice. No injuries reported and 1 vehicle was towed.

On 12/9/2017 Officers responded to the intersection of Sumner Rd. and Clark for a two car accident with airbag deployment and unknown injuries. Upon arrival all parties were out of their respective cars and only one person was claiming injury. One operator stated he was traveling straight ahead when he realized too late that the vehicle in front of him was stopped and turning left. As he hit his brakes he skidded on the snow into the right side of the vehicle and then into a tree on the right side of the road. There was heavy damage to the front end of the vehicle. One vehicle was towed from the scene.

On 12/9/2017 Officers responded to Davis Ave. on reports that a town tree branch had fallen onto a car. Upon arrival with the 551 Sgt. O' Neill, we observed a large tree branch on top of a vehicle making a large dent into the top of the vehicle and breaking the front windshield.  An extending branch off of the larger one had broken the rear windshield of the vehicle in front of it as well.  . Photos were taken and the branch was removed by Brookline Forestry, and both vehicles were towed.

On 12-9-2017, a citizen came to the Brookline Police Station to report a package theft. The victim reports the package was taken from his business on Davis Ave. A report was filed.

Officers responded to a residence on St. Paul St. for a report of a package theft. The reporting party stated that packages had been delivered but where gone when she went to retrieve them. A report was filed.
