JANUARY 2, 2020

At 3:40PM, officers responded to Freeman Street for a package theft that just occurred. The reporting party stated a male and female took a package from the front porch of a residence and fled towards Commonwealth Avenue. Other officers located the two parties on Commonwealth Avenue where they were found in possession of the package. The two parties were summonsed for larceny.

At 1:00AM, an officer took a package theft report from a residence on Beacon Street. The package was stolen from an unlocked foyer sometime over a span of several days.

JANUARY 1, 2020

At 3:30AM, officers responded to a gas station on Commonwealth Avenue for a party breaking the business' windows. Upon arrival, officers observed the suspect inside the store with windows broken, actively stealing items. The suspect refused to comply with the officer's commands and a brief foot chase occurred. The suspect was arrested a short distance away.

At 3:26AM, officers responded to a hotel on Boylston Street for a report of a stolen wallet with the suspect fleeing on Boylston Street. The suspect's vehicle was stopped a short distance away. Upon further investigation it was determined that the suspect had stolen the victim's wallet from his hotel room after being invited over to celebrate New Years. The suspect was arrested for larceny.

At 4:38PM, officers responded to a building on Beacon Street for a report of a fire. Upon arrival with the Brookline Fire Department, the fire was determined to be a minor boiler fire and was quickly extinguished.

At 11:00PM, an Uber driver was assaulted by a passenger he picked up on Beacon Street. The suspect reportedly smashed a beer can against the driver's head and fled when the driver said he was calling the police. The incident is under investigation.
