Thursday, June 28th

6/28

8:30 PM - An officer responded to Longwood Ave for a report of a package theft. Upon arrival, the officer spoke with the victim who stated that her package had been delivered at  12:30 PM. When she came home at approximately 4:00 PM, she found the package ripped open with its contents missing. A follow-up has been requested. This incident is being investigated.

8:33 PM - Officers were dispatched to Harvard Street for a report of a shoplifter. Police spoke with an employee who stated that an individual had entered the store, taking four items and concealing them in a backpack. He then went to exit the store where management confronted him. The Boston resident admitted to concealing the items and was charged with shoplifting. A criminal complaint was completed and filed with Brookline District Court.

8:45 PM - An officer responded to St. Paul Street to take a report of a past package theft. The victim told the officer that there were two instances in which her packages had been taken since the beginning of June. One package was confirmed to be delivered on June 7th and the other on June 22nd. The victim was reimbursed by the companies. The victim was advised in the event of this happening again to contact police as soon as possible. This incident is being investigated.

8:52 PM - An officer was dispatched to Commonwealth Ave for a reported larceny Thursday evening. Upon arrival, the officer spoke with the victim who stated that they had left their backpack on a shelf in a restaurant earlier that afternoon. At approximately 5:00 PM, the victim realized the backpack and its contents were missing. This incident is being investigated.

Wednesday, June 27th

6/27

8:30 PM - An officer assigned to the front desk took a Larceny from a Motor Vehicle report Wednesday night. The victim told police that she had parked her car in her driveway at approximately 10:30 PM on the evening of June 26th. When she returned to her vehicle at approximately 8:00 AM Wednesday morning, she noticed that 2 electronic items and some cash and change had been stolen. Police are investigating this incident.

9:30 PM - An officer responded to Colbourne Crescent to assist a victim of a burglary that had occurred at the beginning of June. The victims stated that after having friends over, they had both left the state. Upon their return back home, one of the victim's noticed that a sliding door to their family room was open and observed an open window within that room as well. Once the other victim arrived back to the residence, he was able to confirm that some of his belongings were missing. Brookline PD is investigating this incident. 

10:35 PM - An officer was dispatched to Harvard Ave where a victim relayed to officers that someone had stolen items from his residence. An acquaintance of the victim had been staying at his residence for a few nights. The victim woke up after the suspect's departure to find several items missing from his apartment. This is an active case.

Tuesday, June 26th

1:30 AM - An officer was dispatched to Cypress Street for a report of a past larceny. The victim relayed to the officer that he had left his moped outside his place of work to go to the gym at approximately 10:30 PM, having the key within his possession. When the victim returned at 1:30 AM, his moped was missing. A follow-up has been requested. This incident is being investigated.

Monday, June 25th

10:33 AM - Monday morning, an officer was dispatched to the station to take a dog bite report. The victim of the bite explained that as he was walking along Washington Street he observed a dog tethered to a parking meter. The victim stated that the dog appeared calm and made the decision to pet the dog when it bit him. The owner of the dog came out of a near-by property and exchanged information with the victim. The officer spoke with the owner who was advised that tethering a dog on public property is a violation of the Town's leash law. She was advised that the Brookline Health Department would be contacted and conduct what is necessary on their end, to which the owner acknowledged. It was confirmed that the Retriever/Shepard breed is licensed with the Town of Brookline and up-to-date on his rabies vaccination. The owner was issued a Town of Brookline By-Law citation for Dog at Large, Bitten or Injuring a Person.

4:11 PM - An officer was dispatched to Commonwealth Ave to take a report on past bike theft. The victim stated that he had parked his bike against a railing in an alleyway at around 12:00 PM, securing it with a wire lock. He returned at approximately 4:00 PM and discovered his bike was stolen and the wire lock had been cut and left on the ground. This incident is being investigated.

9:17 PM - Police were dispatched to Winchester Street for a report of malicious damage to a motor vehicle that was parked in a driveway. The officer was met by the caller who stated that she had parked her vehicle in the driveway on 6/24 at approximately 8:30 PM. When she came out on the night of 6/25 around 9:45 PM, she noticed that her windshield had been broken. Inside the broken windshield she observed a cologne bottle which had been used to damage the vehicle. The bottle of cologne was seized as evidence. Nothing was disturbed or missing within the victim's vehicle. This case is being investigated.

June 22nd through June 24th

6/22

4:42 PM - An officer responded to Washington Street to take a report of a stolen license plate. The victim stated that she had parked her motorcycle in a parking lot Friday morning and when she came back to the lot later that afternoon, her rear plate had been stolen. Police are investigating this incident.

6/23

9:24 PM - Brookline Police were dispatched to the area of Beacon Street and Charles Street to take a report of a stolen bicycle. The individual was identified and stated that they had found the bicycle laying in bushes on Beacon Street. The Boston resident was placed under arrest and charged with Larceny Under $1200.00. A criminal application was filed with Brookline District Court.

6/24

9:22 AM - An officer responded to Saint Mary's Court for a report regarding a suspicious person looking into parked cars in the area. The caller provided police with a description and they were able to locate the subject once arriving on scene. A quick investigation determined that the suspect had broken into a vehicle parked near Saint Mary's Court, taking 2 items from the vehicle that he had left on a concrete wall on scene. The victim stated that she had parked her car at approximately 7:45 AM that morning, leaving it unlocked. She stated that the 2 items belonged to her partner. The stolen property was returned to the victim and she stated that nothing else was believed to be missing. An application for Criminal Complaint was filed with Brookline Court for Breaking & Entering with the Intent to Commit a Misdemeanor - Larceny from a Motor Vehicle.
