October 5th-6th Police Reports

Assault

  • Occurred between 3:38PM (10/6) and 3:47PM (10/6) – 850 Boylston St.

Police responded to a local apartment building for report of two male subjects that were involved in an altercation. Both parties were questioned and each stated they were assaulted. Both individuals will be summonsed to court for assault and battery.

Larceny

  • Occurred between 2:23PM (10/5) and 2:25PM (10/5) – 1329 Beacon St.

Manager of a local cell phone store contacted police once he was informed that an employee phone was stolen from a desk at the rear of the store. The suspect is said to be well known to all the employees as a regular. Suspect was described as a white female, wearing a black shirt, tan pants, and white sneakers. The video surveillance footage was reviewed to confirm the description given to the police. Detectives will be following up on the case.

Not Duly Licensed

  • Occurred 9:58AM (10/6) – 278 Harvard St.

Suspect was stopped by police for not having an inspection sticker on his vehicle. Suspect was asked for his license and registration. Suspect stated that he didn’t have a license. Suspect was placed under arrest for operating a vehicle without a license. While conducting a search incident to the arrest, police found a small plastic bag in the suspect’s pocket believed to contain marijuana. Suspect was cited for illegal possession of marijuana

  • Occurred between 10:09PM (10/6) and 10:30PM (10/6) – 102 Cypress St.

Police stopped a suspect for speeding on his scooter, as well as running through a stop sign in the process. Operator was asked for his license and registration. Operator stated that he didn’t have a license for the scooter. Operator was issued a citation for speeding, unlicensed operation, and failure to stop at a stop sign.

Operating after Suspension

  • Occurred 2:44PM (10/5) – 620 Washington St.

Police stopped a vehicle for a traffic offense. A license check revealed the operator had a suspended license. The operator was placed under arrest.

  • Occurred 11:15AM (10/6) – 1912 Beacon St.

Suspect was stopped by police for driving with an expired inspection sticker. Suspect was asked for her license and registration. Suspect’s license check came back as suspended. Suspect was placed under arrest for operating a motor vehicle after license suspension.

Revoked Registration

  • Occurred 2:47PM (10/6) – Newton St/W Rox Pk

Suspect was stopped by police for not displaying a second license plate. A check of the suspect’s registration came back as having been revoked. Operator was issued a citation for the revoked registration and not displaying a second plate. The vehicle was towed.

Warrant Default

  • Occurred 11:51AM (10/6) – 227 Babcock St.

Police were contacted by a local hospital in regards to the employees holding a patient who was known to have an outstanding default warrant. Once on scene police were able to confirm that warrant. Suspect was taken into custody.

Breaking and Entering of Motor Vehicle

  • Occurred between 1:54PM (9/22) and 4:00PM (9/23) – Cottage St.

Victim reported that she had found her car to have been damaged on the front passenger side door of her vehicle. Police observed visible marks between the front and rear door jams on the passenger side of the vehicle. There was also a dent on the jam. Victim stated that the vehicle had been properly secured with an alarm system. There were no visible items of values in the vehicle and the suspect had been unsuccessful in gaining entry. Victim was advised to contact her insurance company.

Burglary

  • Occurred 11:49PM (10/2) – 341 St Paul St.

Police were contacted by subject to a local apartment complex after the caller heard suspicious activity. Subject reported having heard noises from the apartment that had been abandoned for over a year. Police checked the apartment and found that the rear door had been forced open. An employee of the housing authority was contacted. Police are following up on the case.

Disturbing Peace

  • Occurred 3:05AM (10/3) – 132 Columbia St.

Police responded to a call of a noise complaint. Police advised the subject of the complaint. Police reported to suspect’s home for the second time on a loud party complaint. Police filed a criminal application and have requested a hearing for the charge of Disturbing the Peace.

Fraud

  • Occurred between 1:00PM (9/25) and 9:40PM (10/1) – 27 Egmont St.

Victim reported that he had attempted to buy an item online from the owner. Victim stated that the process of making the purchase involved a Western Union transaction in which he sent out funds to the individual. Victim states that the item didn’t arrive on the day it should have. Police attempted to contact the suspect. Police contacted UPS for possible leads.

  • Occurred 10:36AM (9/16) – 320 Washington St.

Victim reported that he was misled by an internet site that he was trying to order products from. Victim states that he was involved in a wire transaction that raised suspicion when he was asked to send additional money then what was originally required. Victim contacted the web host and was advised to report the problem. Police will be following up on the case.

Larceny

  • Occurred 12:07PM (10/1) – 115 Greenough St.

Victim reported that her cell phone was stolen from her purse. Victim stated that she had been with a student during the time of the theft. Victim believes that the student could have stolen the phone. Suspect was questioned and he stated that he didn’t steal the phone. A check of the phone records had been made and one of the numbers that had been called linked the suspect to the theft. Suspect was placed under arrest.

  • Occurred 11:09AM (9/7) – 227 Cypress St.

Victim reported that a customer had given him a series of checks for food items on several occasions. Victim stated that none of the checks were valid. Suspect had informed victim that he was aware of the insufficient funds in his account and would make restitution. Police contacted suspect and questioned him in regards to the problem. Suspect was advised that a criminal complaint will be filed against him on several counts of larceny.

  • Occurred between 4:00PM (10/3) and 6:00PM (10/3) – 1299 Beacon St.

Victim reported that her jacket was stolen from a chair it had been draped over. Victim stated that she hadn’t seen any possible suspects. Police questioned victim’s co-worker who hadn’t seen any suspicious individuals in the store. Police will be following up on the case.

Possession of Marijuana

  • Occurred 2:55PM (10/2) – 115 Greenough St.

A local school teacher contacted police after having found two students in possession of marijuana. Police questioned both students who admitted to having been in possession of the substance. Police advised both individuals that they will each be receiving a violation notice for possession of marijuana. Both individuals were further advised of having to attend drug and alcohol counseling.

Traffic Offense

  • Occurred 10:06PM (10/4) – 2 Acron Rd.

Police responded to a call for a motor vehicle that had been blocking a driveway. Police checked on the registration plate and found it to have been revoked due to lack of insurance. The vehicle was towed. Police requested a hearing on the matter and issued a citation to the owner for permitting an unregistered and uninsured motor vehicle to remain on a public way.
