 2/4/2021 UNEMPLOYMENT FRAUD - Officers responded to a report for unemployment fraud as the reporting party stated that they received a document claiming that they claimed unemployment benefits last year. Since the party did not file for any unemployment benefits, they contacted police to report fraudulent claims. 

2/4/2021 BICICYLE THEFT - Officers responded to a bicycle theft on Still St. where the reporting party claimed that they left their bike on the back porch of their apartment building unlocked. Upon returning half an hour later, the bike was missing.

2/4/2021 PACKAGE THEFT - Officers took a report for a package theft on Marion St. where the reporting party stated that when retrieving their packages, they observed the box to be opened but the contents were still there.

2/3/2021 FRAUD BY CREDIT CARD – Officers responded to a fraud report where the victim stated that their credit card was used to make unauthorized purchases. They contacted the credit card company to report the charges.

2/3/2021 PACKAGE THEFT – Officers took two reports of package theft on Beacon St. at around noon.

2/1/2021  BICYCLE THEFT - Officers responded to a bicycle theft where the reporting party stated that they left their bike in a common entryway in their building. The doorway requires a key for entry so the victim suspects the perpetrator to be someone from the building. 

2/1/2021 CREDIT CARD FRAUD - Officers responded to a report of credit card fraud where the victim stated that a person called them stating that their credit card has been compromised and they needed to provide their information in order to cease the fraudulent activity. Shortly after the victim gave their information to the caller, numerous transactions were made to their card in another state. This prompted the victim to contact police.

2/2/2021 SCOOTER THEFT - Officers responded to a report for theft of a motorized scooter. The reporting party stated that they parked their scooter at a bike rack on Colchester St. Upon return, they discovered their scooter was missing and contacted police. 

2/2/2021 DAMAGE TO TOWN PROPERTY  - Officers took a damage report where a passerby saw two parking meter tops on lying on the snow. Officers observed the meters missing the tops and are in the process of investigating the damage.

Officers responded to three reports of unemployment fraud over the weekend.

 

1/29/2021 FRAUD – Officers responded to a fraud report where the reporting party stated that they were contacted by someone claiming to be a debt collector. They were attempting to collect money for an unpaid service that the victim received. The victim reported to police since they did not receive the reported service and they believed that their personal information had been compromised.

 1/29/2021 BICYCLE THEFT – Officers responded to a bicycle theft on Beaconsfield Rd. where the reporting party claimed that their bike was stolen from the laundry room in the building that they reside in. 

1/29/2021 BURGLARY ATTEMPT – Officers responded to an attempted breaking and entering from the previous night on Washington St. The reporting party claimed that the rear door to their establishment was smashed in. However, nothing in the establishment was missing or out of place. Detectives are currently in the process of a follow up.

 

1/31/2021 BREAK AND ENTER OF MOTOR VEHICLE – Officers responded to a B & E of a motor vehicle on Foster St. where the reporting party stated that they returned to their parked car and stuff was rummaged through.

1/28/2021 FRAUD -  There were two reports of fraud where victims were contacted by a suspicious party and convinced that they had to transfer money to the party.  In both incidents, the victims suspected the activity to be fraudulent and contacted police.
