Police Reports 1/13-1/17

Arrest: Occurred on 1/16 at 1:50 AM- Boylston St.

Officer was traveling on Boylston St when he observed a Toyota Camry traveling at a high rate of speed. The officer conducted a traffic stop on Boylston St. A query of the driver revealed that his right to operate in the state of Massachusetts had been suspended. The driver was placed under arrest. The operator was issued Massachusetts Uniform Citation for Operating After Suspension and Speeding.

Arrest: Occurred on 1/13 at 7:35 PM- Essex St.

Officer was traveling on Commonwealth Ave. when he saw a vehicle cut across several lanes of traffic with no turn signal. The officer had to stop suddenly to avoid a collision. The officer initiated a traffic stop. A query of the operator revealed that he had a suspended license. The driver was placed under arrest and was issued MA uniform citation.

Traffic Stop: Occurred on 1/14 at 12:48 AM- Boylston St.

Officer was conducting traffic enforcement on Boylston St when he observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on Boylston St. The officer conducted a traffic stop. A query of the operator revealed that her license to operate was currently under suspension. The driver was issued Massachusetts Uniform Citation and she was advised she would be summoned into Brookline District Court for the traffic offenses.

Motor Vehicle Accident, Hit and Run: Occurred on 1/15 at 5:59 AM- Harvard St.

Officer was travelling on Harvard Street when he observed an unoccupied red Jeep Cherokee parked on Harvard Street. At this time the vehicle had no obvious significant damage. Several minutes later, the officer passed the vehicle again, but now observed the vehicle to have extensive damage to the rear end and under carriage. The officer observed a large field of vehicle debris immediately behind and around the vehicle, including a headlight assembly with red paint transfer which matched the headlight assembly of a Ford Crown Victoria. This information was relayed to the numerous Brookline Police units who began canvassing the area around the accident scene, looking for a white Ford with heavy front end damage.

With this information, another officer observed a white Ford Crown Victoria stopped, but running in the middle of the roadway several blocks from the Coolidge Corner intersection. There was heavy front end damage to his vehicle, the front air bag had deployed, and it was missing pieces of the front grille and headlight assemblies. As a result of the investigation, the driver was cited for Leaving the Scene of Property Damage MVA, Operating a MV Contrary to a 1-way Sign, and Failing to drive completely within marked lanes.

Traffic Stop: Occurred on 1/16 at 12:50 Am- Boylston St.

Officer was performing stationary radar on Boylston St. when he observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed. The officer conducted a traffic stop on Boylston St. A query of the driver revealed that her license had been suspended. The driver was informed that she would be summoned to the Brookline District Court for Operating After Suspension and Speeding, and she was issued a citation for those offenses.

Breaking and Entering: Occurred on 1/16 at 4:00 PM- Cutler Ln.

Officer was dispatched to a Cutler Ln. residence for suspicious activity. A resident had called and stated that someone walked into his house and acted like it was hers. The resident told police that he heard the front door open, and a woman calling out. The woman stated that this was her house. The resident stated that he was the owner and he asked her to leave, which she did. The woman then got into a dark blue car and drove away.

At 8:38 PM, the resident’s son heard the doorbell ring and he saw the same woman from earlier standing outside the door. The resident then called 911 for police assistance. The woman was placed under arrest for B&E -Putting a person in fear. She will also be charged with Resisting arrest.

Arrest: Occurred on 1/17 at 8:35 AM- Boylston St.

Officer conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle that had an expired inspection sticker. A query on the vehicle revealed that vehicles' Inspection sticker had in fact expired in July 2011. It also revealed that the RMV had suspended the driver’s right to operate a motor vehicle in Massachusetts. The operator was issued a citation for Operating after Suspension and having an Expired Inspection Sticker. He was placed under arrest
