Police Reports 1/17-1/18

Arrest: Occurred on 1/18 at 1:48 AM- Washington St.

Officer observed a white Lexus fail to stop for a red signal. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Washington St. A query of the driver revealed that his right to operate a motor vehicle was suspended. The driver was asked to exit the vehicle and a subsequent search of his person revealed a knife that was determined to be a “per se” dangerous weapon. The search also revealed a small amount of marijuana. The driver was placed under arrest for operating a motor vehicle after suspension and carrying a “per se” dangerous weapon.

Arrest: Occurred on 1/18 at 12:30 AM- Harvard St.

Officer observed a red Nissan sedan travelling on Harvard St. The officer observed the vehicle travelling in between two marked lanes on the roadway. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Harvard St. A query of the driver revealed that his license was suspended. The operator was placed under arrest and charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Suspended License and Marked Lanes Violation.

MV Accident/Pedestrian: Occurred on 1/17 at 5:38 PM- Harvard St. and Longwood Ave.

Officer responded to the intersection of Harvard Street and Longwood Ave. for a motor vehicle accident with a pedestrian. The operator stated that she did not see the pedestrian in the crosswalk and that she was not going that fast during the accident. The driver stated that she was turning left from Harvard Street onto Longwood Ave when she struck the pedestrian. The pedestrian was transported to the Brigham and Women's Hospital for pain in her right foot. The victim stated that she was walking in the crosswalk during the time of the accident, and she was in the middle of the street when the vehicle struck her. She was knocked to the ground and felt the tire run over her foot. The driver was cited for failure to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.
