March 24th- 25th
Arrests:
Occurred at 6:50 PM (3/24) – St. Paul Street/ Beacon Street
Officers were stopped at a red light when they observed the vehicle in front of them proceed through a red light. Officers conducted the traffic stop and learned that the driver’s right to operate in Massachusetts was suspended. The operator was placed under arrest for operating after suspension and red light violation. There were two other occupants in the vehicle. All three occupants were not wearing seat belts within the vehicle. One of the occupants had two outstanding warrants and was placed under arrest. Before towing the vehicle, officer conducted an inventory search of the vehicle and found a bag that contained drug paraphernalia and residue of a substance that is believed to be heroin. The passenger that was arrested for the two warrants was additionally charged with possession of a class B substance.
Larceny:
Occurred between 4:00 PM (3/21) and 2:30 PM on (3/23) – Fuller Street
Officers responded to Fuller Street for a report of larceny of a bicycle. Upon investigation the victim stated that she had left her bicycle in the storage area in the basement and when she returned the bike was missing. The bicycle was not locked up.
Breaking and Entering and Larceny of a Motor Vehicle:
Occurred between 9:20 PM (3/24) and 9:33 PM (3/24) – Beacon Street
Officers responded to a report of breaking and entering and larceny of a motor vehicle. Upon investigation officers learned that the victim’s vehicle was broken into while they were in the store. The back passenger’s window had been smashed and a bag was missing.
March 25th- 28th
Arrests:
Occurred at 10:11 PM (3/25) – Beacon Street
Officers responded to a call of a suspicious person. Upon arrival the caller stated that a man came into the restaurant and was causing a scene by yelling at the employees and customers. The suspect fled when they threatened to call the police. Officers searched the surrounding area and found a man matching the description in a close by restaurant. The male had a warrant out for his arrest and was very intoxicated. The subject was subsequently placed under arrest and transported to Brookline Police Department.
Occurred between 11:12 PM (3/25) and 11:45 PM (3/25) – Harvard Street
Officers were patrolling the area when they noticed a car parked in an alley way. Due to the frequent drug activity and shoplifting that occurs in the area, officers activated the blue lights to conduct a traffic stop. The operator stated that he was waiting for a friend to exit a store. Upon investigation officers learned that the driver did not have a proper Massachusetts license. When the friend of the operator returned, officers asked if he had a proper license to transport the vehicle home without being towed. Officers then learned that he also did not have a license and also had a straight warrant for his arrest. Both parties were placed under arrest, one for being not duly licensed, and the other for an active warrant.
Occurred between 12:38 AM (3/26) and 1:15 AM (3/27) – Boylston Street
Officers responded to a report of reckless driving. Upon investigation officers learned that the operator was in violation of the Massachusetts Junior Operators license law that states that they should not be operating between the hours of 12:30 AM and 5:00 AM. While the officer spoke with the operator they could detect an odor of alcohol coming from the subject’s breath. Officers conducted field sobriety tests and came to the conclusion that the subject was operating under the influence of alcohol. The subject was subsequently placed under arrest for Operating under the influence of liquor, operating to endanger, failure to stop at a red light, operating without a license and a one way violation.
Occurred at 1:05 AM (3/26) – Mountfort Street/ Lenox Street
Officers observed a vehicle conduct a marked lane violation. During the traffic stop officers learned that the operators license was suspended. The operator was subsequently placed under arrest for operating after suspension.
Occurred at 1:25 AM (3/26) – Boylston Street
Officers conducted a traffic stop for speeding. Upon investigation officers learned that the operators license was suspended. The operator was subsequently placed under arrest for operating after suspension and speeding.
Occurred at 9:40 AM 3/26) – West Roxbury Parkway
Officers observed a vehicle with commercial plates that did not have any owner marking on it. During the traffic stop officers learned that the operator did not have a proper Massachusetts license to operate. The subject was subsequently placed under arrest for operating after suspension.
Occurred at 11:27 AM (3/27) – Washington Street
Officers conducted a traffic stop for a vehicle having an expired inspection sticker. Upon investigation officers learned that the registration and the operator’s license were both suspended. The subject was subsequently placed under arrest for operating after suspension.
Occurred at 3:47 AM (3/27) – Beacon Street
Officers responded to a report of shoplifting. Upon investigation officers learned that a male party had reportedly stolen multiple items from the local Trader Joe’s store. Officers took an inventory of the items stolen and the subject was placed under arrest for shoplifting.
Occurred between 9:45 PM (3/27) and 10:08 PM (3/27) – Chestnut Street
Officers conducted a traffic stop for speeding. Upon investigation officers learned that the subjects license to operate in Massachusetts was suspended. The subject was subsequently placed under arrest for operating after suspension.
Occurred at 2:11 AM (3/28) – Boylston Street/ Heath Street
Officers conducted a traffic stop for a red light violation. Upon investigation officers learned that the operator did not have a Massachusetts license and the passenger had two active arrest warrants. Both parties were placed under arrest, one for being not duly licensed and one for the warrants.
