March 28th- 29th

Arrests:

Occurred at 1:40 PM (3/28) – Harvard Street

Officers conducted a traffic stop for a red light violation. Upon investigation officers learned that the operator did not have a license and only had a Learner’s Permit. The operator was subsequently placed under arrest due to Learner’s Permit violation.

Occurred at 9:00 PM (3/28) – Harvard Street

Officers responded to a report of shoplifting. Upon arrival officers learned that a male subject had entered the local store and removed a razor from it’s package and attempted to steal it. The employee confronted the subject, retrieved the item, and sent the subject on his way. Officers watched the surveillance camera in order to get a description of the subject. MBTA officers later identified the male on a near by train who matched the descriptions of the events earlier. The male was subsequently placed under arrest for shoplifting.

Burglary:

Occurred between 6:15 AM (3/28) and 5:30 PM (3/28) – Lagrange Street

Officers responded to a report of burglary. Upon arrival officers learned that when the victim returned home they noticed glass was broken on a side door. The door was off a three season’s room. Several rooms were ransacked and multiple items and cash were missing. None of the neighbors saw anyone or noticed any suspicious activity. Although day time break ins are rare in this neighborhood, Brookline residence are advised to properly secure all doors and windows of their households in order to prevent break ins. Please report any suspicious activity to the Brookline Police Department.
