Arrests
· Occurred at 3:18AM (7/03)-
David Balerna was arrested and charged with, unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, resisting arrest, possession of a firearm while under the influence of liquor, operating a motor vehicle while under the influence, marked lanes violation, possession of a class D substance (Marijuana), and possession of a class E substance (Vicodin). Officers observed a car driving erratically, not keeping in the marked lanes of the roadway. Officer asked the driver to exit the vehicle and upon a safety frisk discovered a loaded .32 caliber semi-automatic handgun in Balerna's waistband. The man was placed under arrest. Police searched the vehicle, and found two unmarked bottles of prescription drugs, two folding knives, one butcher knife, as well as a bag containing a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana.
· Occurred at 1:44PM (7/03)-
Steven Lander was arrested and charged with Operating after Suspension. Officers noticed a vehicle traveling at high rate of speed. After pulling the vehicle over, the officer noticed the driver had a suspended driving license. Lander was additionally charged with speeding, and a seatbelt violation.
Larceny
· Occurred between 7AM (7/02) and 5:36AM (7/03)-
Officers were dispatched to a report of breaking and entering of a residence. The victim reported that sometime between Monday night and Tuesday morning a suspect had gained entry into his house by breaking the backdoor window. The suspect’s wallet containing $400 was taken from the home.
· Occurred between 5PM (7/02) and 6PM (7/03)-
Officer responded to a call of breaking and entering and larceny of a motor vehicle. Upon arrival officers spoke with the victim who said she left her car unlocked in her driveway for about an hour. Upon returning she discovered about $6 in change missing from the vehicle.
· Occurred between 3PM (7/02) and 1PM (7/03)-
Victim reported that on 7/02 he parked his car in his driveway and left it unlocked. When he returned to his vehicle the next day he noticed a bag of change in the amount of $150 missing from his car.
· Occurred between 1AM (7/03) and 8AM (7/03)-
Victim reported that someone had stolen two clay pots and a large cactus from the outside of his residence. The value of these items is unknown.
