Crime Report (6/15/07)

ARRESTS

  • Occurred at 10:17 a.m. (6/14/07)

Judith Reed of Brookline was arrested for Domestic Assault and Battery and Assault and Battery by means of a dangerous weapon. Reed had attempted to strangle her mother. She had also swung her purse at her mother’s head. When officers attempted to question and arrest Reed, she reacted violently, striking a number of officers. Reed was also arrested for resisting arrest and assault and battery on a police officer.

  • Occurred at 7:37 p.m. (6/14/07)

John Clarke of Dedham was placed under arrest for Domestic Assault and Battery. He allegedly pushed his ex-wife into a shopping carriage while inside her apartment. Clarke appeared to be intoxicated at the time of his arrest.

ROBBERY

  • Occurred at 1:26 p.m. (6/13/07)- 371 Harvard Street

The victim reported that while she stood in front of 371 Harvard, a group of 8-10 black males approximately 15-17 years of age also came to the front of the store. Four of these youths entered the store. At this time, a youth that had stayed outside put his hand in one of the victim’s coat pocket and tried to remove what was inside. The victim stated that she put her hand inside her pocket to keep him from taking her keys and glasses. The suspect took his hand out of her pocket and pushed her to the ground. The group of youths then fled. A witness who had been driving by when the incident occurred described one suspect as a black male, wearing a red t-shirt, long shorts, and a grey hoodie.

LARCENY

  • Between 9:00 p.m. (6/11/07) and 10:00 p.m. (6/12/07)- Park Street

The victim reported bicycle was stolen from her open garage parking space. The bike had been left unlocked. The bike was described as a red Jamis women’s bicycle, with a black seat and a ripped black brake cushion.

  • Between 8:50 p.m. and 8:57 p.m. (6/13/07)- 155 Harvard Street

The assistant manager at Stop and Shop reported that two suspects had walked to the front of the store with a duffel bag filled with assorted meats and baby formula. The suspects walked out of the store and got into a red station wagon in the parking lot. The assistant manager stated that she approached car and tried to open the door, but the suspects locked the doors and drove away. The assistant manager was only able to describe the suspects as two black females.

  • Between 8:35 a.m. (6/13/07) and 8:35 a.m. (6/14/07)- 1370 Beacon St

The victim reported that she had left her credit card at the FedEx Store. When the victim notified the credit card company, she was informed that her card had been used at various stores in Watertown.

  • Occurred at 11:30 a.m. (6/14/07)- 900 Commonwealth Avenue

A cashier at CVS pharmacy reported that suspect had approached the register and asked him to cut the tag off a pair of sunglasses. At this time, the suspect turned around and walked toward the exit. The cashier told the suspect that he had to pay for the sunglasses. The suspect responded by saying, “Catch me if you can”, and continued out the exit. Officers were later able to stop the suspect. He will be summonsed into court.

MOTOR VEHICLE THEFT

  • Between 4:00 p.m. (6/13/07) and 8:59 a.m. (6/14/07)- 1343 Beacon St

The victim reported that her vehicle was stolen at the above time and location. According to records, the vehicle was not towed or ticketed.
