Assault: 7/27 at 2:36am - Commonwealth Avenue
Officers responded to a report for an intoxicated person.
Caller informed the officers that an intoxicated man refused to leave the store
and then proceeded to assault the caller with an 11X18 inches tall sign. Caller
was able to pin him to the ground until Police arrived on scene. Subject was
taken to the hospital and was being held for observation due to his high level
of intoxication. He will be charged with Assault & Battery by Means of a
Dangerous Weapon as well as Trespassing .
Accident: 7/26 at 4:52pm - Independence Dr
Male victim was crossing the street in front of a marked
crosswalk when a van drove towards him and hit him in his left leg. He was
thrown approximately 6-7 feet through the air and landed on his right side.
Victim was alert and conscious and transported to the hospital. Driver claimed
that she did not see the victim walking until the last second. Driver will be
issued a citation for failure to stop for a pedestrian in a crosswalk.
Larceny: Occurred 7/1 between 3:30pm – 6:30pm - Centre St
Victim claimed that she had cash stolen from her pocketbook.
She placed her pocketbook on a shelf during her work shift, and returned to
find that her wallet was on top of her bag with cash missing.
