11:05 AM- Officers were dispatched to Ivy Street for a
report of a break and entering and larceny.
Officers spoke to a house keeper upon arrival. She reported she entered the residence that
day around 11:00 AM and noticed there were objects thrown around the
house. She told officers the owner of
the home has been away. As she walked
through the house she noticed a broken window pane as well as damage to the
basement door. She called the police
after observing this. Officers on scene
observed damage to several window screens located at the front of the house as
well as the screened-in porch. A broken
window pane on the door that leads into the main house from the side porch was
observed as well as an open basement window and damage to the door at the top
of the basement stairs. Several dresser
drawers were found open and appeared to have been gone through. Detectives determined that the burglar gained
entry through the basement window after failing to gain entry through the
porch. The house keeper explained that
she tends to the home once a week. She
noticed a flat screen TV was missing and a computer. The owner of the home was contacted and
informed of the break in and larceny.
This case is under investigation.
