Unarmed Robbery

Robbery: 10/03/2013 at 1:52 a.m. – Thorndike St. 

      Several officers were dispatched to Thorndike St. after receiving a report of a robbery. Upon arrival, the officers were met by the victim who was the subject of an unarmed robbery but was otherwise unharmed. She was walking home when two suspects ran up behind her. The first suspect demanded she hand over her belongings. At this point, the first suspect grabbed the victim’s cell phone and both suspects fled the scene. According to the victim, the suspects fled up Thorndike St. where a white sedan was waiting for them. Police units checked the area with negative results.
     Just a reminder wherever you are stay alert and in tune with your surroundings. Stick to well-lit areas and busy streets. Avoid alleys and areas hidden by trees and shrubbery. Walk with confidence. Criminals look for easy targets and opportunities. Call 911 immediately if you notice suspicious activity. Walk with a companion whenever possible.
      Be alert, cautious, and confident.
