At 9:10 AM today, Brookline Police Dispatch received a call for suspicious activity near 29 Harvard Ave. The caller described a black male, 20-30s, with a mustache, wearing a black hooded jacket and sweatpants. As the officer arrived the subject fled and jumped a fence towards Harvard St. A foot pursuit ensued in the area. The subject was carrying a backpack and a large white bag, both of which he dropped when he fled.
The subject was seen running into the garage under the Town Hall. Police established a perimeter and approximately 10:00 AM the suspect was located in the garage.
During the event Pierce School staff was notified and officers responded to the school to keep the staff informed. The school was not in a lock down, and classes continued as scheduled.
Officers discovered jewelry, watches, and assorted luxury goods in his backpack, an iPad, and laptops. Some of the items are believed to be from a housebreak at 471 Washington St
At 9:45 AM, Dispatch received a call for a Breaking & Entering at 33 Aspinwall Ave. A black male had attempted to enter an apartment, but ran away when he noticed the resident was home. It was confirmed that the suspect was one in the same.
At this point in the investigation the suspect has been charged with two counts of Breaking and Entering in the day time, and Possession of Burglarious tools.
The suspect, Allen Bolden, age 29, DOB 3/9/1982 444 Harrison Ave Boston Mass. will be arraigned in Brookline District Court.
