9/2-9/5

Burglary:

Occurred between 2 and 8 PM – Pleasant St.

Officers responded to the area for a reported burglary. The victim told officers she discovered that two necklaces and 20 tablets of her prescription medicine were missing from her bedroom. She recently had the locks changed because of a fire. With the new locks she had only one key made, and that key was in her possession at all times. There was no signs of a break-in, so it is unclear how entry was made.

B&E&L of MV:

Occurred Overnight, 9/4-9/5 – Worthington St.

Officers responded to the area for a report of a breaking and entering. The passenger's side window was smashed and the vehicle was entered. This report is currently under investigation.

Larceny:

Occurred at 8 PM on 9/2 – Commonwealth Ave.

Officers responded to the area for a reported larceny. The employee stated that just before 8PM, when the staff was preparing to close for the night, there was a single customer left in the store who had requested to use the restroom. At some point, this customer left the restroom, removed a bicycle from a rack, and exited with the bike out of a front service door. The suspect is described as a white male 30-35 years of age, with blonde hair, approximately 5'-10" tall, and wearing a black T-shirt. The bike is a black and red 2011 Felt B10.

MV Crash:

Occurred at 4:48 AM on 9/2 – Beacon St./Westbourne Terr.

Officers responded to the area for a report of a motor vehicle crash. Vehicle #1 had been travelling westbound on Beacon Street when it left the marked travel lane and entered the designated parking lanes on the right shoulder. It then collided with parked vehicle (vehicle #2) and forced vehicle #2 an estimated 40' over the curb, into a town sign and then into a town tree where it came to rest. There was major front end damage to vehicle #1, and front and rear damage to vehicle #2. The driver of vehicle #1stated that he swerved to avoid animal crossing the road. The driver was a issued a citation for failure to stay within marked lanes.
