Larceny:
Occurred on 9/7 – South St.
Officers responded to the area for a breaking and entering and larceny of a motor vehicle. The victim parked her vehicle at 6:45 AM. She left work at 3:30 PM and she noticed the front passenger window of her vehicle, was smashed. Taken off the front passenger seat was her purse which contained a wallet with credit cards, personal papers as well as cash. A GPS was also taken from the vehicle.
Occurred at 2:14 on 9/7 – Harvard St./Brainerd Rd.
Officers responded to the area for a reported assault and battery at TJ Maxx. One shoplifter was in custody, and two shoplifters had assaulted store security and were trying to flee the store. An employee from the loss prevention unit reported that three black females had just driven away in a silver colored vehicle onto Lawton St. Officers quickly found the vehicle at the intersection of Lawton and Thorndike and pulled it over.
One passenger stated that they left the store because they were told that they could leave, and that they hadn’t stolen anything. The passenger was able to provide a receipt for her purchases. Back at the store, the loss prevention team stated that they have observed the shoplifter they had in custody take two shoes from the rack and begin to tamper with the security tag, while another female, later discovered in the stopped vehicle, shielded the first from the security cameras. The first then concealed the shoes in her bag and attempted to leave the store, when they were stopped by security. The one that had concealed the shoes in her bag began assaulting security but was eventually brought into the back office where the shoes were recovered.
The female in custody as well as the one discovered in the vehicle were placed under arrest for shoplifting, assault and battery, and possession of burglarious tools.
