8/1-8/2

MV Accident:

Occurred at 9:55 AM on 8/1 – Brookline Public Library

A vehicle that was parked in front of the upper turn at the library rolled backwards down the embankment and came to stop after colliding with a vehicle parked parallel in the street. The operator claimed she had engaged the parking brake and exited the vehicle when it began rolling backwards. There were no reported injuries, as both vehicles were unoccupied.


Burglary:

Occurred on 8/1 – Cypress St./Rice St.

There was a report of an attempted burglary in the area. The victim had been approached by two unknown individuals in the morning, who asked for someone whom the victim had never heard of before. She then left, and when she returned, the rear entry door to her apartment had been damaged, but entry was not gained. She believes her encounter with the unknown individuals may have something to do with the attempted break.

Larceny
:

Occurred between 7/29 and 8/1 – Monmouth St.

A project manager for a construction site reported having several expensive materials missing from his site. The master locks had been pried off the locked containers that they were in. There was no visible damage and no suspicious activity reported in the area over those few days.
